Let me read off the latest chapter of the book I'm writing. It won't make any sense because I'm really far along with the plot, but it's fairly stupid. The second half especially.
Willow, Lia, Emma, and Erin are cats, for the record. The rest are people.
Lia sensed their presence. "They found us!" she whispered urgently, "Now it's real hide and seek!" They panicked.
Willow and Lia climbed into Tanya's closet. Erin slinked under the bed. Emma dove under a messy pile of blankets. Tanya didn't have to hide. Instead, she helped the others' hiding spots to be perfect.
A shiver ran down Tanya's spine, and a sense of dread surrounded all of them. She let out a shaky sigh, anticipating the absolute worst. To hide her fear, she pulled out a book to distract herself.

As Jazzmine and Connor started down their chosen hallway, they heard frantic scuffling- and what sounded like Tanya's voice!
"Hey," declared Jazzmine, "We have good luck!"
Connor laughed nervously. "Heh. You're right." He paused. There was a thump!, and then Tanya scolding someone- Willow, was it? "Yeah. That was Tanya."
Then there was a clatter; probably clothing hangers. "Lia! Don't do that! They'll hear us!"
"Not so loud yourself, missy! You're giving us away by trying not to give us away!" There was a giggle, then several shushes.
Neither Jazzmine nor Connor knew any context of this racket, but they found it amusing nonetheless.
