FAQ
Question wrote:
Will you include currency per time, in addition to/instead of per battle?
Short answer: No.
- Different people have different times per battle in each venue, depending on team
among other factors
- Recording time after each battle adds time overall
- Since battles are often very short, it's difficult to keep sufficiently accurate time
Question wrote:
Why doesn't Harpy's Roost have an apostrophe in multiple places?
Much like in Flight Rising and Forum code, apostrophes don't play nice with the spreadsheet code.
Question wrote:
Do you need data in X venue/Where should I collect data?
Whichever venue has the lowest amount of data, as seen in the Venue Overview tab.
Question wrote:
I lost a battle/fled a battle/my browser crashed/lightning hit my computer, and I needed to restart in a venue! Should I start a new column in the same venue tab?
No.
Question wrote:
You said to add my name to the User Battle Stats tab, but the tab is protected! What gives?
Column A in the tab was left as an exception, and should be publicly editable, even though the sheet has the padlock icon.
Question wrote:
What's the point of the Flight Overview tab?
Testing a theory.
Question wrote:
There aren't enough rows/columns in a tab!
Ping me and I'll add more as soon as I can.
Question wrote:
How does Data Protection work? Why do we need to send you our email addresses?
Short version: I'll be making a portion of the sheet (your columns, basically) frozen and uneditable. If you still want to be able to edit your data column, I need your email address to add you to the permissions for that region. (Side note: If your data is protected, you must be logged into that email address to edit or add to it.)
Question wrote:
I asked that my data be Protected. Which venues does that apply to?
All venues you have provided at least 1 battle of data for will be protected, as long as you fulfill the stated requirements. If you start recording data in a new venue, and want it protected as well, just ping me in the forum and I'll add any new venues you've been in.
Question wrote:
Wait, does that mean you'll be keeping our email addresses?
Yes, but only until the end of the Festival, for the sake of convenience. When the current holiday season is over, I delete all Data Protection messages and Email Addresses at the same time as I make the spreadsheet view only.
If you are uncomfortable with that and would rather I delete your PM immediately after protecting your data, please specify that in the PM. If you do, you'll need to PM me again if you want more venues protected, instead of just pinging me.
Question wrote:
How will I know if my data is Protected/where my data is Protected?
That box in the "User Battle Stats" tab will be a different color.
Question wrote:
Is all of this a one time thing?
Nope! I'll be copying out a new spreadsheet every festival, and archiving the old ones. Past spreadsheets and forum posts are also in the Important Links section.
