[size=1]Icedad please love us[/size] We reside in the lovely Southern Icefield, where we lounge around in warm blankets sipping our favorite hot beverages when we're not pushing for dom. And also when we are pushing for dom. So, uh, all the time. We're pretty chill! Some people think we are cold and heartless, but that is far from the truth, as we know how important it is to support our fellow Icicles! [i]Sometimes[/i] this support comes in the form of cat gifs and/or puns, which we have large collections of. Icicles tend to enjoy breeding beautiful dragons and pushing for dom with all their might! They're as cool as we are! They're considered the most neutral eyes on the site. That's not to say they go with everything, but they don't clash as much as other eye colors tend to. Because of this, we tend to loan out nests to players in other flights who don't quite share our dom enthusiasm but do love our eye color. Did you know that Tundras are the official Ice breed? That's right, those cuddly little fur monsters came from the Southern Icefields! They take after Icedad. Just imagine how much cuter they'll be in their winter coats and come visit us! During that time we party harder than most days. We even throw a party twice a year, because we just can't get enough! Have you ever seen an Emperor before? No? You're welcome! We love our icy lore and subspecies! We keep all of our official subspecies neatly organized and easy to find in the Cryo Center. We have a wide variety of different subspecies to choose from - ranging from cuddly animals of the tundra to spooky undead prisoners! New Icicles are greeted with an avalanche of puns, blankets and a warm beverage. If you ever need to vent, you will more than likely get a response from your fellow Icicles offering support and advice. On average the Ice community tends to be older, and there is a distinct lack of memes. We also offer the option to take our socializing beyond the forums with both Skype and Discord groups! Our Discord features the ever popular Cat Appreciation Club, where Icicles can swoon over adorable cats and non-cats together. The Southern Icefield is a big place and it's easy to lose threads in all the snow that's constantly blowing around. We have a handy labeling system which we encourage others to follow to help easily identify posts. There is also a thread tracker, which will help you find any important thread you have lost! It typically takes a couple days before a thread is buried in our forums. If you miss a day of browsing you won't feel like you've missed out as it's easy to catch up. During dom pushes it might feel a bit more quiet than usual, since most people have their noses buried in the coli. Even with over 30,000 members, we are certainly less chatty than larger flights. Our forums are full of games, hubs, services, support groups, and more! The games run long and there are always new games popping up (which is why our thread tracking comes in handy!). We start with advice on how to earn enough treasure to afford the necessary battle stones and how to pick your team, and then we encourage progress with rewards along the way. Registered participants are also offered the opportunity to purchase select discounted battle stones at designated team levels. This initiative relies on donations of battle stones from flight members who are interested in helping players new to the coliseum raise a team for fun and profit - and oh, yes, we do hope they will join in Dom efforts, too![/columns] We also try to keep dom as flexible as possible. Icicles are not required but are instead encouraged to participate in dom. We have many different ways to contribute towards dom pushes, so if you can't or won't step foot in the coliseum that's also fine! Maybe you will find fodder breeding more enjoyable? I've had all these happen to me. When I was on my lowest points, Icicles helped me get back on my feet. Sometimes they simply got me the most unbelievable gifts out of sheer niceness and simple words like "because you're nice and you help make Ice a good place" as if they didn't need any other reason to give me a precious dragon/item/accent/familiar that I most definitely would not be able to afford otherwise at the time. If you look around the forums, you'll see it happening on a daily basis, from the smallest to the most notable things and I think that's just beyond awesome. I'm just one person among so many and I know there are even more stories like this happening that I'm not even aware of. Dom itself is a clear example of that. Whenever there's a discussion about the values behind Dom battles, you'll inevitably run into icicles talking about their flight pride - about the genuine desire to spend time, effort and gems/treasure just to fight the good fight with those who share this home with us. Yes, so many of us go bankrupt and yes sometimes we still lose but damn, it can't ever be said that we don't put up a fight nor that we don't give our best for each other. I love that. I'm so proud of that. Sure, our forums are nowhere near as fast as some other flights but the bonds that end up being formed here in our quiet forums are so often meaningful. You smile because X got a new job even though you never talked to them because you're in the same flight and good news are naturally uplifting - before you know it, you realize you sort of befriended them just out of seeing their posts every now and then. When icicles do get to know each other and bond for real, it's even more amazing because you see the friendships developing and you find yourself eventually realizing how odd it is that you once thought of Y as a stranger when you can hardly imagine not suffering over virtual dragons with them. I know this must have reached full rambling status by now and I'm sorry, but my point is that I'm so happy this flight exists and I'm so happy to be a part of it. If you haven't seen this side of Ice yet, I hope you will because it sure is worth it. <3 [/quote]
