We leave accounts "as-is" so that way if someone has to take a break, they can return to their account and everything they worked for. XD)[/quote] The colors were selected to try and produce unique and usual combinations. The idea was to try and prevent all of the blues/reds/greens etc from looking similar to one another. This was an opportunity to create a gene where each color is drastically different by virtue of the combination involved! Items that stock in the treasure marketplace will have higher stock rates the week of their release though! We may look into ways to make older items more rare by further weighting the strange chest to new items, but at this time we have no plans to retire items. (-though if we ever do something like that please rest assured we would likely announce it in advance so that everyone had a chance to collect them rather than springing it after the fact!) Like, instead of just coming out with one familiar (such as the Stormseeker), you always create a flipped version of it (Deathseeker) How come?[/quote] Many times our artists come up with multiple colors and patterns that are pretty stellar, and having an additional variant allows them a chance to explore that a bit more. Within a species it seems reasonable that there would be some variants present - though our vibrant familiars take that variation to an extreme! Having a second color varaint also enables us to get a bit more milage out of a piece of art, and allows players the opportunity to have more choices to match their dragons with the perfect familiar. If not, where else can you get some?[/quote] The opponents in the coliseum have a rare chance to drop a familiar version of themselves for a dragon to keep as a companion when they fight them. However, this is far from the only way that a player may acquire a familiar! [list][*]Some familiars may be purchased from the treasure/gem marketplaces. [*]Some familiars have a randomized chance to be found in iron or gilded chests. [*]Some familiars have a chance to be discovered in Pinkerton's Plundered Pile. [*]Some familiars are only available by trading at Swipp's Swap Stand. [*]Some familiars are only available by creating recipes in Baldwin's Bubbling Brew. [*]Some familiars are only available by gathering. [*]Some familiars are only available during special events.[/list]
