Believing themselves to be spirits of the clouds themselves, Cloud Nines are Coatl's whom, after being born in the Twisting Crescendo, immediately flew straight up and out of the vortex and fell in love with the sky. These dragons travel the world, basing the direction they go on weather patterns alone. While a clear sky is usually a welcome sight for most dragons, it is an unnerving one for Cloud Nines. Still, the optimism of these dragons is catchy, and even on such days, a Cloud Nine will still find something to be happy about, be it a simple birdsong they heard or a shiny trinket they recently collected.
Despite their travelling nature, Cloud Nines are quite the hoarders. They have an eye for all things shiny and flowy, but tend to avoid carrying heavier items. In fact, they often find themselves spending all their gold on long pieces of cloth or intricate kites, specifically to avoid having to carry all the gold.
A group of Cloud Nines is called a Cumulus, while a solitary Cloud Nine joyfully dancing across the sky is often jokingly called a Cirrus.
Ultimately, Cloud Nines are adventurers at heart who follow the clouds wherever they take them.

XXY Nimbus Nines are considered True Nimbus Nines, whereas Nimbus Nines of any coloring within the range are called Cumulonimbus Nines.
Born during particularly bad weather, Nimbus Nines chase storms across the world of Sorineth. The combination of their dull plumage and their tendency to appear during bad weather causes many dragons to consider them an omen, but despite this, these dragons are just as whimsical as any other Cloud Nine. Many Nimbus Nines feel most at home in the Shifting Expanse, due to the various thunderstorms that often occur. Contrary to other Cloud Nines, Nimbus Nines will often wear darker colors, especially black, in order to blend in with storm clouds. These dragons especially love the Raven Sylvan set and Black Currant Plumes. They often bond with Storm Seekers and Harpies.

Cirro Nines are Cloud Nines born to a breed native to the Windswept Plateau. While Cloud Nines believe they are cloud spirits, Cirro Nines believe they were made by the Windsinger to mimic the appearance of clouds. This distinction is very important to them. Cirro Nines travel across the continent and leave wispy clouds in their path. Some members of this variant are particularly artistic, and can find work (or simply joy) in writing messages or drawing pictures in the sky. These Cloud Nines are more attached to their homeland than most, and find comfort in Wind-flight related items.

These variants have a bit of a different pattern than most Cloud Nines, but still the same level of joy. Whereas other Cloud Nines can either choose to be solitary creatures or to travel in a pack, Altocumulus Nines are rarely spotted alone. These variants tend to be a bit weaker than other Cloud Nines; as such, they spend much of the travel time of their early lives searching for others to bond with. They cannot travel as long distances as other Cloud Nines, but their sweet personalities help them charm others into letting them rest in various clans along the way. Altocumulus Nines are infamous for their love of bright colors and for their sweet tooth.

These variants have deeper and brighter colors than other Cloud Nines, which is why they're considered Cloud Eights. Cloud Eight dragons are known for their particularly large wingspans and seemingly endless stamina, allowing them to travel massive distances without a break. While many typical Cloud Nines enjoy wearing luxurious clothes and owning little bobbles, Cloud Eights lean more towards practicality, preferring clothing with pockets and carrying little. Many Cloud Eights end up becoming messengers of their clans. Those that do not tend to do well as navigators or tour guides.

Sunny Nines were born in the Twisting Crescendo like any other Cloud Nine, but came out looking more like a crystal clear day than a cloudy one! These dragons much prefer being in the air vs. on land, and their independent streak makes it quite difficult for them to settle into a clan. Sunny Nines tend to travel in pairs or small groups, either with siblings or romantic partners. Out of all Cloud Nines, these dragons are the most likely to champion a cause, and they can often be found helping out with charity or serving the Windsinger as a part of the continual fight for Dominance.

Cirro Nines are Cloud Nines born to a breed native to the Windswept Plateau. While Cloud Nines believe they are cloud spirits, Cirro Nines believe they were made by the Windsinger to mimic the appearance of clouds. This distinction is very important to them. Cirro Nines travel across the continent and leave wispy clouds in their path. Some members of this variant are particularly artistic, and can find work (or simply joy) in writing messages or drawing pictures in the sky. These Cloud Nines are more attached to their homeland than most, and find comfort in Wind-flight related items.
These variants have a bit of a different pattern than most Cloud Nines, but still the same level of joy. Whereas other Cloud Nines can either choose to be solitary creatures or to travel in a pack, Altocumulus Nines are rarely spotted alone. These variants tend to be a bit weaker than other Cloud Nines; as such, they spend much of the travel time of their early lives searching for others to bond with. They cannot travel as long distances as other Cloud Nines, but their sweet personalities help them charm others into letting them rest in various clans along the way. Altocumulus Nines are infamous for their love of bright colors and for their sweet tooth.
CLOUD EIGHTS: COLORS: Cobalt - Stonewash, must be XXY or XXX
These variants have deeper and brighter colors than other Cloud Nines, which is why they're considered Cloud Eights. Cloud Eight dragons are known for their particularly large wingspans and seemingly endless stamina, allowing them to travel massive distances without a break. While many typical Cloud Nines enjoy wearing luxurious clothes and owning little bobbles, Cloud Eights lean more towards practicality, preferring clothing with pockets and carrying little. Many Cloud Eights end up becoming messengers of their clans. Those that do not tend to do well as navigators or tour guides.
SUNNY NINES: GENES: Any/Any/Smoke
Sunny Nines were born in the Twisting Crescendo like any other Cloud Nine, but came out looking more like a crystal clear day than a cloudy one! These dragons much prefer being in the air vs. on land, and their independent streak makes it quite difficult for them to settle into a clan. Sunny Nines tend to travel in pairs or small groups, either with siblings or romantic partners. Out of all Cloud Nines, these dragons are the most likely to champion a cause, and they can often be found helping out with charity or serving the Windsinger as a part of the continual fight for Dominance.
