WvW Dressing Contest. The words pop out at you from a bright and colourful background, scrawled across the card in thick fancy lettering that had immediately grabbed your attention when you first saw the invitation sitting neatly out the front of your lair.

Looking up from your invitation you momentarily wonder if you've come to the right spot, though any concerns about being lost almost immediately vanished as a small fae quickly fluttered past, wings laden with layers of bright silks, flapping furiously to stay up in the air, vanishing as quick as they had appeared. Moments later a large Imperial sauntered past, red and gold finery draped across his flank and wings before entwining around his neck. Despite his relaxed pace he seemed to be quite excited to get to where he was headed.

As more and more dragons began to wander by you quickly follow after them, the sound of chatter and music beginning to reach your ears as it drifted from around a bend in the twisting path that you were following along the bottom of the cliff-face. Rounding the bend the scenery suddenly opens up into a large cove where hundreds of dragons were already milling about among stages and stalls. It was an absolute sight to behold. Banners were flapping lazily in the wind, musicians were set up on small stages, sharing their talents with the crowds and the smell of the various exotic food items filled the air.

After a moment taking in all the sights, smells and sounds, you eagerly make your way along to a large stand where two dragons were seated; large scrolls rolled out across the desk. They looked up to you with friendly smiles, welcoming you to the event and running you through the various themes that were on offer. Without hesitating you quickly scribbled your name down on all the lists, setting the quill down with a satisfied grin. It's your time to shine.

Hello there! Welcome to the Wind vs Water Dressing Contest! I can see you received your invitation and made it here all safe and sound! I am Lallie, and I will be co-hosting this event with the awesome @SlipperySylveon from Water! Together we have put together this, hopefully, awesome event for all you lovely people so that you can showcase your brilliant dressing skills! The FR user database never ceases to amaze us when it comes to dragon dressing. So now for some more details:

WvW Dressing Contest will start on the 29th July and end on the 4th August

Daily Theme categories have been chosen to reflect Wind and Water themes, whether they be conventional or a little more obscure

Judging will begin once the contest has ended and shouldn't take more than a week

No Dressing Room entries - you will be disqualified from a round if found to be using a DR image

Day 1: Water Rep

The Water dragons of the Sea of a Thousand Currents are oracles. They prefer to be as fluid as the waves and currents of the oceans. Of all the dragons, Water dragons are the most mysterious, predicting the many futures that may come to pass, but revealing nothing of what they divine to outsiders. This category is about showing off those dragons that you feel best represent the Water Flight! Day 2: Wind Rep

The Wind dragons of the Windswept Plateau are explorers. They prefer to be joyful and carefree, like the gentle and playful breezes that whisk them to new lands. Of all the dragons, Wind dragons are the most friendly, eager to become a small part of every community they encounter before they eventually and inevitably leave, following the currents in pursuit of a new adventure. This category is about showing off those dragons that you feel best represent the Wind Flight! Day 3: Sea Mythology

Greek? Roman? Celtic? Persian? Indian? The list could really go on! But this is the category where you can show off anything relating to mythology based around the sea! Sirens, Mermaids, Kelpies, perhaps even Nessie might make an appearance! There is an abundance of things that can be done, so let your imagination run wild!

Day 4: Pirates

Ahoy there! This day be Pirate Day! Where ya can show off yer drag'ns that sail the high seas, go on 'eroic adventures 'n do all sorts of pirate-y stuff! Are they Cap'ns? Are they simple sailors or men work'n aboard a ship? Give them all some time in the spotlight! It wouldn' be a Water/Wind dress'n contest without a Pirate Category!

Day 5:Beach Day

WvW is all about fun in the sun and the surf! Like the big lizards they are, I am sure many dragons enjoy basking and soaking up the sun's rays, and I am sure many of them love to partake in beach activities. If you have surfers dragons, show them off! What about dragons who collect sea shells? Show them off too! Windsurfing dragons? Yep! Snorkelers? Yep! Beach sports? Yep Yep! Show off any dragon who loves a good day at the beach!

Day 6: Steampunk

When you think about Wind and Water combining, one might begin to think about the more obscure and fantastical - Steampunk! The Wind aesthetic does touch a lot on steampunk, particularly in relation to their giant kites in the sky, perhaps even sky ships? And well water? Prophets and things like that are a wonderful element! Wondrous submarines? Yessss please! So show off all your steampunk dragons!

Day 7: Travelers

Last, but certainly not least, Travelers! Brief mention though, this does not include Pirates, my friends. These travelers are merchants, explorers, cartographers, swashbuckling adventurers, these guys are the ones that sail the sea to the ends of the earth in search of something more or to showcase their wares! Give your travelers some love and show them off in this category!
