It is why she was able to attract one of the much respected Triple Golds when it was time to pass her bloodline on. The Lineage of Arathorn

Arathorn
Arathorn is a forgotten king. His land laid on an island just off the coast, a small city-kingdom built into the cliffs bordering the sea. The center of the island was devoted to communal farms and pasture land, all under the authority of the royal family, whose castle lied in the very center of the island.
To foster goodwill, at the age of five days, the children of the royal family are sent in secret to various clans to be raised as a 'commoner' until they return as adults to retake their throne. Arathorn was with his foster parents Lapis and Hermes when his kingdom was threatened by magde from the Maren clans, who attempted to sink the island for their own use. Mages employed by the royal family were unable to combat this, and so turned to a secret failsafe carved into the bedrock of the island by the first kings. They took the Kingdom out of time.

Presumably, all is well within the Kingdom, as they were fairly self-sufficient, but no one can go in or out. Arathorn has joined the Sylversylvan clan to take advantage of Itona's power of Sight. So far she has been unable to reach the Castle, but if they were to reach outside their bubble, she would know instantly. Until then, he waits and trains.

Aragorn

Aragorn , son of Arathorn, is the Second Prince of the lost Kingdom of Ymestes. While born in a firmly established Clan headed by a mage, Aragorn longed for adventure, and soon left the nest. He settled into a newly created lair, and has flourished!

He loves helping explore the lower catacombs below his Clan's main home. With his strange 'radioactive' birthmarks and glowing talons he has no need for bulky lanterns and lamps. He also takes stretches guarding the dig sites from Beastclan warriors. His coloring blends into the dark walls, leaving many to believe that his marks are patches of luminous moss on the cave walls. They're pretty surprised when he moves. He is happy in his home, and has fathered many children. With the Lightbringer's help, his Clan will prosper and endure to the end of time.

Iolanthe

Iolanthe was the wild child, the spoiled daughter of Sophie Softscale, she wanted for nothing. At first, people praised her for her adorable bright colored scales, and then for being a princess. As a child and a teenager, she believed that it was merely her due, and soaked up the attention. Once she had children though, she realized that she was being selfish, and, as soon as they were grown, devoted herself to serving the Icewarden, rushing off without informing anyone of where she was going. But hey, community service waits for no dragon, right?

Uriel

Uriel is the first of his family to not inherit the 'Royal Runes'. Some say that it is because the family now lives in exile, but others say that a 'Racing Stripe' suits the hotheaded Spiral better. Either way, Uriel ignores them, focusing on his goal to beat all endurance records while still keeping up a decent speed. After all, everyone knows that the Spirals are full of energy, but suck at long flights. They're more suited to short bursts of speed. As part of his training, he's entered the Icewarden's Messenger Corp. After all, you do your best when something is pushing you, and the Icewarden takes no excuses for late deliveries!

Astarael

Astarael is an angel. No, really. As a child, she used to sneak across the Veil, into the place the Exalted dwell. Due to a binding oath, she is unable to speak of it, but she still has several...abilities from doing so. Aside from her 'semi-exalted' status, she has the ability to naturally bypass magical protections, and has trained to be able to place them as well. Since she rarely uses either of these talents either, few outside the Clan know of them, and she is mainly thought of as the healer with the angelic voice. Makes sense, since she is an Angel.

Yadin

Once again, the family marks have changed. Once again, it fits those one who wears it. Unlike the secret runes of Arathorn and the straightforward hotheadedness of Uriel, Yadin is an easygoing, go with the flow dragon. He drifts through life without making a stand, often hiding in whirlpools to avoid conflict with beastclans and overly friendly dragons alike. His goals in life were to grow up lazily, have two children, a girl and a boy, and retire to re-scripting research notes. The number of children might have been off, but he mostly got what he wanted.

Sawell

Sawell isn't as easygoing as her father. She chooses her path confidently and charges headlong down it. She just..happens to change her mind a lot, making her path resemble a bumblebee's more than an ant's. Sawell is a beauty, her scales in all shades of purple, dark, light, even orchid (which is NOT pink, thank you!) When she can't decide which choice to make, she often starts conversations with her reflection in the closest shiny surface. These often end with her suddenly remembering that she has something to do, and randomly deciding, before following her heart to the end (or turn) of the road.

Dai

Dai was a bit...off. He didn't follow either his Mother's random path-taking, or his grandfather's apathetic actions, but quietly waited, counting down the days until he was an adult. As soon as he was able, he sired a nest to continue the bloodline, and used a difficult magic to induce early births. With a fanatical look in his eye, he convinced all of his siblings to join him in his quest to become the favored Accolade to his Highness. Long Live the Icewarden

31670440_350.png

Nain

Nain was a bit more settled than his father. Yes, he also used the 'Boon of Fertility' to hatch his nest early, but really, just look at how cute they are! How was he supposed to wait any longer? Unfortunately, early hatchers are often early leavers. His siblings also joined the deities, as did he once his own children raced off to start their lives. Well, it's only for a little bit, they can surely put up with it for five measly days.

Decimo

Decimo , unlike Nain, will not be making the mistake of using magic on his hatchlings. No, these kids will grow naturally and NORMALLY. There will be obsessions or weird powers like the rest of their family. So what if he enjoys the Swamp water he resembles a bit too much, it's just because his class took a lot of water-themed field trips. That kind of thing can't be passed on genetically. Undicesima

Undicesima is a long-awaited child of prophecy. It is why her brother has spent so long arranging the ritual to give her the coveted secondary genes that avoided her family since her ancestor mated with one of the Tsukimi Subspecies. It is why her father actually spent the first five days of her life completely dry, without even bathing (Can she just say, ew!?) It is why she was able to attract one of the much respected Triple Golds when it was time to pass her bloodline on. It was why, when her brother's carefully constructed ritual activated, it not only changed her plain wings to the gorgeous ripples called 'Safari' patterned, but her body scales from 'Skink' to 'Savannah'. But...she wasn't going to go along and become the Queen they were all waiting for. She'd Seen how the Kingdom was doing. It was fine without them. And they were fine without it. Well, mostly. Daijuni [columns]Daijuni Doesn't Care. She knows her mother could've 'redeemed' the bloodline. She doesn't care. She knows that she could probably guilt her into doing it anyway. She doesn't care. She knows it would stir up a lot of trouble if she told Grandfather Arathorn. She doesn't care. All of it is just annoying. Obviously Mother wasn't MEANT to re-discover the Kingdom. If you were MEANT to do something, it would happen no matter what you did. It didn't, so who cares? Not her. - Daijuni...isn't sure what she likes. The not-caring thing seems to include more than just her 'Lost Birthright'. She doesn't care what she eats, or when. She doesn't care what happens to or around her. It's almost like things aren't...real. She does, faintly, wish it would stop, that she could enjoy things like the dragons around her do, but even that wish is muted, pushed to the background. - Maybe the Icewarden could help? [nextcol][/columns] Tredici [columns]Tredici has all the luck. Unlike her brother, she can control her power. Good luck, bad luck, and weird luck, on demand. She often works as a luck peddler, selling luck to those who need it, or want it, and can pay. Why would anyone want bad luck? Well, mild bad luck is great revenge, and sometimes you just need to get out of bad situations. What about weird luck? Some people get bored and like to have random squirrels show up at their breakfast table. But she needs to work in moderation. Too much one way or another, and the balance can be disturbed. Good luck and weird luck turn to bad, and bad luck turns back to her. That can obviously be bad. [nextcol][/columns] Quattordici [columns] Quattordici was the World's Greatest Tutor. Any Student, Any Subject, Any Place; that was his motto. On your way to a fancy dinner, but not sure of the etiquette? Call Quatordici! He'll meet you midair for a quick lesson. Want to make a special dinner, but not sure how? He'll give you step by step instruction on how to make that goose liver cream sauce! Stuck in a sinking shark tank with your air running out? A quick refresher on how to pick locks is what you need! (How, exactly, did he arrange that lesson again?) But the mightiest, they are the ones who fall the hardest! One day a question was asked, a question so heavily debated, so shrouded in mystery, so undeniably unanswerable, that the World's Greatest Teacher was struck dumb. "Who was Naomi the Glitch Queen? Was she evil, good, or just a hoax?" Well, what could he say? And he was so overcome by not knowing, that every cell in his body, his very blood cried out: We must know! And away he went, never to be seen again... [nextcol][/columns] Juugo [columns] Juugo is an Enchanter. The crystallized manifestation of his soul sparked his interest from the first moment he looked into it, and saw his long-departed grandmother's reflection. From that moment, he had been captivated by magic, researching, experimenting, and bouncing around from discipline to discipline so much that he was referred to as the Rabbit Sorcerer. He (finally) settled on Enchanting, shoving all of his previous supplies into the West Wing of the families' Palace. (Of course they had an Ice Palace, they were Royalty weren't they?) Enchanting was such a wide field, blending all of his previous knowledge, that he was irrevocably hooked. Need a living weapon that turns into a bird and follows you around? Meet Hibird, the cutest shape-shifting tonfas ever. And where do you think Leon came from, a pet shop? Need a full-size aquarium for the wounded water-horse you rescued but have no room? No problem, just press this button and the animal will be miniaturized and placed in a tank on your shelf. Another button to release it for your beach visits. His latest project is a gorgeous archway that will allow those who pass through to visit the Heart of the Ice Warden's Retreat, where the Exalted dwell. How is it going you ask? Well, I'm not sure, but I'll ask him when he comes for a snack. Shouldn't be long now, He missed dinner AND breakfast, haha. Which Court does she work for? Hers of course! Just because it's been seventeen generations since her family has ruled doesn't make her family any less royal. Her kingdom still exists, after all, it just isn't here. So as an Alchemist of unparalleled ability and pedigree, she is, logically, THE Royal Alchemist, apprentice of Brom. Their latest work was experimenting with that new gene therapy potion, Capsule. I mean, just look at it, it looks like someone turned their throats clear while they took a drank, but the liquid got stuck! How even does that work? No one has any answers, but it's become the newest thing. Just because it's pretty, what if it's dangerous?! I mean, Baldwin is pretty responsible..and it does look nice...and there've been no problems reported...and her family has a history with smoke...The sample was so expensive, it really shouldn't go to waste now that Brom is done testing for now... She will spend hours in front of a mirror making sure that every scale is perfectly shined or shadowed. She's even been known to beg Brom for potions to 'correct' marks that she believes do not look good with the rest. Of course she needed the newest gene to be discovered. She threw her entire inheritance into acquiring it the very moment it came out. Due to her infatuation with the object, many expected her to marry a mirror dragon, all were surprised when she bonded a Spiral, especially one with such a ...common...gene like cherub. She was NOT happy with the whispers she heard, and promptly ran off to tell the Icelord, as she couldn't find Brom and Itona only chuckled at her. That's why her name isn't capitalize, because she isn't exactly certain of who she is. So juuhachi is a description, not a Name. She'd like a Name, really. Maybe if she really becomes a dragon, or find a way to become a dog for real, she can get one. Yes, a dog, not a Hainu. Yes, she knows that they're mythical creatures. But if they didn't exist, why do so many people have stories about them, even though they'd had no contact with each other? And no, she isn't mad, no matter what that See-through cat says, she just has a problem staying in one shape, thanks to that dusty old potion she took. But how was she to know? It should have made her a dog, not some twisted version of a were-Hainu with scaly wings! Daijuni

Daijuni Doesn't Care. Not her.
-
Daijuni...isn't sure what she likes.
-
Maybe the Icewarden could help?

Tredici

Tredici has all the luck.

Quattordici

Quattordici was the World's Greatest Tutor. (How, exactly, did he arrange that lesson again?)

But the mightiest, they are the ones who fall the hardest!

Juugo

Juugo is an Enchanter.

Sedici

Sedici is the Royal Alchemist.

35566813_350.png

Juushichi

Juushichi is a pretty little girl, and she knows it!

36137041_350.png
juuhachi

juuhachi should have been a dog. It said it was a potion to force a shape-change, like those Breed Change Scrolls Alchemists sell, and it had a dog on it! Nijuu

It's normal to tinker with your genetic code. Some gems, and you remain a child forever. A few coins and you can rewrite your very DNA. Others may make the choice for you as well, Clan leaders handing out scrolls with impunity to members of their lair, even sending them out as 'gifts' to others outside their actual authority. Sure some features are prized over others. Those featuring Basic traits forgotten in the corners, or quickly exiled to the Deities, sometimes even before they fully grow! It's just what's done.

But one thing you don't do. You don't mess with the unborn.

Nijuu broke that unspoken rule. And not to do something simple like manipulate their genetic code. She didn't want to cover them in the scattered clumps of fused scales known as Opal. She didn't want them to don the feathered crest of the coveted coatl. She wanted to change the very core of them. To make them something besides a dragon. To make them something other. Yes, Nijuu had inherited the obsession of her mother, and her grandmother, but she went further than either of them in her madness.

She attempted to change her unborn clutch into puppies.

The two sisters were born of Nijuu, who meddled in things better left untouched. Like all of their kin, the nestmates Share the same Name. Normally, this is done for the sake of protection. It also allows the Named to share their their power, whether 'lending' it to the other in times of need, or causing a Resonance that strengthens their spells.
