These dragons are few in number but they are growing steadily. These are shy but territorial creatures who have an affinity with creatures like themselves, such as Chimeras, Basilisks, Dragonnes, and Ophiotaurus. Each type of Manticore has their own traits and abilities.[/center] [columns] [img]https://i.imgur.com/8xncicz.jpg[/img] [nextcol] [indent][center][b]The Beast Manticores[/b] are the bulkier and tougher than any of the other types of Manticores. They specialize in melee attacks and have little to no magical capabilities. They have some of the largest bodies and tend to have the largest stingers. They have a lot of health and are difficult to take down, but their slow speed and weakness to strong magical attacks tend to be their downfall. [b]The Magic Manticores[/b] tend to be the smaller of the Manticores tend to have paired themselves with a being of strong magical talent or very rarely, a Manticore is born with strong magical capabilities. These Manticores are small in size and tend to have unnatural colors and markings. They are fast and can battle well from a distance. They are able to fly much farther and higher then the other Manticore species and are known to travel great distances in search of obtaining greater knowledge. [b]The Golem Manticores[/b] are bulky and too large to fly properly like other Manticores. Golem Manticores are also made Manticores, usually by Magic Manticores with strong magical talent, or by another creature of strong magical talent. These types of Manticores are made of nothing but magic and stone or crystal, they tend to be given a purpose in their making and stick to it. Only the old ones tend to have anything even close to a personality. It is very rare, and only tends to happen when not given a purpose, that a Manticore Golem is created with a personality.[/center][/indent] [/columns] [center][b]More details will be posted below for each type of Manticore.[/b][/center]

[center][b]General Manticore Traits[/b] Most all Manticores have the basic characteristics, Such as the scorpion tail, The feline main body, and the dragon wings and/or scales. Each different type of Manticore though has mostly specific traits. All Manticores tend to have a home territory and they are quite aggressive in their defending of it. They also tend to live in small to medium groups, very rarely do you find large groups of Manticores though. Large groups tend to be too aggressive to one another about personal space and their own mini territories within the groups territories. Depending on what makes up the Manticore, then the Manticore can be either a lone Manticore that enjoys its personal space away from other Manticores/Pride Members. Or, The Manticore can be more Pride friendly, and enjoy grooming and interacting on a daily basis with their Pride. Pride made of mostly Pride Manticores tend to have far better ability to maintain their larger territories than Prides made up of many Loner Manticores. More often then not, too many loner Manticores in a Pride leads to unrest and ends in fights, leading many of the former Pride members then having to tend their wounds and find new territories.[/center] ----- [center]Manticores dont have to abide by the specific patterns of their feline parts if they are not true full Manticores. There are Manticores that tend to have more of their dragon genes can have other markings on their main body. These dragons are often given an additional label as [b]Half-Breed Dragon Manticores[/b]. A feline body, A scorpion tail, and A dragon's wings and/or scales. Manticores sadly can only work well with certain species of dragons. [center][b]The Beast Manticores[/b] Beast Manticores are the brutes of the Manticore species. They are large and tend to use ambush tactics to take down enemies and prey. Most of the Beast Manticores tend to be Loner Manticores, but a few of the Beast Manticores do have that work well as a Pride. Beast Manticores are tough and are built to take a lot of hits before finally going down, but magic tends to take them down rather easily. [b]Beast Manticores tend to have more natural colors.[/b] [b]Beast Manticore Tertiaries[/b] Underbelly Thylacine Contour Spines Crackle Okapi Scales Stained[/center] [Columns] [img]https://i.imgur.com/tB35kSR.jpg[/img] [nextcol] [indent][u][b]LION[/b][/u] Lion type Manticores are some of the toughest Manticores within the subspecies. They are also one of the few Beast Manticores that work well in a Pride. Lion Manticores actually prefer to be in a Pride and dont mind being in Prides with other types of Manticores, though they do prefer to be in a pride of other Lion Manticores. Tiger Manticores tend to most often be Loner Manticores, though they can handle being in a Pride. Tiger Manticores can handle being with other types of Manticores but prefer not to. Cheetah Manticores use their larger size and speed to run their opponents down to strike a swift and deadly blow. Though Cheetah Manticores are fast and tend to use their wings to increase their speed, Cheetah Manticores can not truly fly, only use their wings to glide and lengthen their jumps. Cougar Manticores are great climbers and tend to use ambush tactics for hunting and attacking,though they arent much for close combat fights should their ambushes fail. Cougar Manticores are most ALWAYS Loner Manticores. Jaguar Manticores have a powerful bit and are unafraid of close combat. Jaguar Manticores are almost ALWAYS Loner Manticores. Jaguar Manticores are strong and tend to take their prey to higher places such as trees or tall spires to keep it away from their competators. Leopard manticores also tend to be Loner Manticores and often are not found in Prides. Clouded Leopards are the smallest of the Beast Manticores but they are no means the weakest. Clouded Leopards have large canines and are unafraid to use them. They are also quite aggressive toward other creatures, even their own kind. Snow Leopards are small but not the smallest of the Beast Manticores. Snow Leopard Manticores are much like normal Manticores but prefer a cold climate and dont do well in intense heat. [center][b]The Magic Manticores[/b] Magic Manticores are smaller then the Beast Manticores and dont do as well in close combat as they do. Magic Manticores are either given magic from an outside source or, very rarely, are born with great amounts of magic. Magic Manticores are small and are more likly to be found in Prides than any of the other Manticores. Magic Manticores are small and tend to use magical attacks from afar, though they are by no means completely incapable of physical attacks. Magical Manticore also have a greater ability to fly then the other Manticores. Their Stingers also tend to be far more potent then the other Manticores due to their inability to take on larger and more powerful opponents up close. They dont mind being out in most any weather but tend to stay in high places. They also come in a variety of sizes and can be rather small or on the larger side of the Magic Manticores. Carcal Manticores have a tendency to use their wings to enhance their jumping ability, but they are not earth bound. Carcal Manticores still have a fantastic ability to quickly and gracefully maneuver in the air, and they tend to be some of the best fliers. They can often be seen in any type of day but more often then not you wont find Serval Manticores with outhers of their kind. A unique characteristic of Serval Manticores is that they are often one of the tallest Manticores within the Magic Manticores types. Their small size but large tails make their poison one of the most potent of all Manticores. Sadly, not much else is known about these types of Manticores... They tend to have fantastic hearing and tend to be seen only at night. Wildcat Manticores are most likely to be in large Prides due to their small sizes. Jaguarundi are fantastic hunters and though they often hunt anything and everything they know they can take down, and Prides of Jaguarundi Manticores often can take down very large prey when they work together. They tend to have dense and long fur so they seem bulkier then they really are. Pallas Manticores are also not the fastest or most agile Manticores in the air but do well in climbing and have a talent for finding places they can hide within rocks.
