So. My clan is lead by a council, with a total of twenty four members. Two for each breed in my lair (no Pearlcatchers for lore reasons, and the only Bogsneak is being counted as a Snapper.) Anyway, I don't see many other council-lead clan's and I never see any with as many members as mine has. So I'd like to see some others for a change, they don't need to be as huge as mine though. Don't worry about giant posts either, because I for one find that mine always turn huge. My clan is a constitutional monarchy. I basically took Ancient Egypt and threw stuff at it until I had something new.

The Pharaoh and Queen are Ahkmenrah and Meskhenet. The council is made up pf several nobles, including High Priest Rabiah, Amensidsjaankh, Uertheku, Sebek, Hatasu, Thmei, and Nohem-Maschuf. Others may be added as time goes on.

They manage affairs with neighboring clans and are generally responsible for keeping the peace and overseeing trade in their territory. Oooh, yay for councils! @StormyDragon yours is MASSIVE and I'm diggin' it. Mine is kind of a council, kind of a very loosely formed oligarchy...ish? They don't hold power over the rest of the clan, but they are very clearly the elders, leaders, and primary decision-makers. They're tasked with providing for the clan and protecting the clan at all cost -- of course, these charges are made up of many smaller tasks, which the five delegate to other members of the clan. Happily retired, they now provide sage advice in dire times...and serve as a pair of unlikely nannies for the clan's hatchlings. The clan also has two individual patrols who protect them (though one trio is...significantly less a part of the clan than the other). One of the trios is highly respected and they've [i]kind of[/i] become part of the council, but they're certainly less involved than the above dragons.

@AnacronicCobra - Your ancient Egypt theme is cool, I think I've seen your pharaoh around on some other threads. :) @LostVices - Ooh witches! Some of the members of my council are magic users, but not all of them. I like Mira best for some reason. @SkyJumper - That's pretty much how my council's members were selected; they were the first of their breeds to join. If someone else wanted to join the council they'd have to run against one of their breed's current representatives for the position. Because of this it's only a matter of time until someone replaces Rosalie - she's a scatterbrain, but currently no other Coatls are interested in the role. @OnABadBet - Aw, thanks! ^_^ Delegation is always important, otherwise workloads would spiral out of control. Aside from the council, there's a few other dragons with supervisory roles, like the finance manager Willowisp. But to take decisions everything must be accepted or denied by Zheiron- Now here's the weird part Even if zheiron is the one with highest control in here Owl, Crow, Mahal and Chusayo can do pretty much whatever they want in certain areas... For example zheiron can't really do anything over crow and owl's investigations and he can't do anything over chusayo and mahal kingdom- So ... what does he really govern? His old mate left him and he stepped down from the council at that point. He has a new mate now, who isn't on the council. Quoxiel will act as a tie-breaker too if the council is at a standstill.

@ChaoticGlub - Maybe they just let him think he rules stuff so he's easier to deal with..?

@artemiswanderer - Tiebreaker is always a good thing to have on hand. My council doesn't have one, which means that ties inevitably result on everyone yelling at each other until someone changes their opinion...
