Marx is a nightguard that protects the clan when everyone else is sleeping, and blends himself into the darkness. Unfortunately he's also kinda reckless, so one unfortunate battle left him with some ugly scars and a permanently-crooked jaw. Funny how all of my scarred dragons have some sort of relationship to Innes, hmmmm...

Azaroth here is probably the only one to really qualify for 'veteran' lmao. Hes been through some real ****, honestly, and recently retired from his previous role as Fire Rep due to old and new injuries. His most recent and final battle was actually to rescue the scrappy little Tundra that's now his apprentice (and future Fire Rep) from monster hunters. He was told not to run off and do something stupid and yet he did anyway basically (but hey fire-based monsters gotta stick together).The hunters got a lucky shot on him that resulted in his fire nearly being extinguished, which has taken a toll on the old guy. Now he mostly focuses on his blacksmithing and keeping the new Fire Rep in line. (He may have also basically adopted the little thing.) He's quite a bit more fragile than he used to be, though, but he's still one heck of a fighter if you provoke him. On the subject of his scars, there both the ones you see (the apparel ones), and ones that are pretty unnoticeable. You see his feet and legs?? How they look like molten rock? Yeah his whole body used to look like that, and that's how he's supposed to look, but the hunters caused him quite a bit of damage that he hasn't really recovered from. Basically, the dark crack-like parts of the Ripple/Current markings are also scars. He's mostly alright though; he just feels kinda achey all over on most days.

Rather than a veteran, this guy just goes in battle recklessly (a lot). After encountering my first 4-monster fight in the Sandswept Delta and living to tell the tale, the scars dropped and I put them on her as a memory of the victorious encounter. I have so many dragons that need scars. I wish we had more scars (like ones covering the neck, more of the face, the tail, the belly/chest, even the wings), and perhaps more colours too (we have basic skin colour and the hard-to-get black, so why not white, and then some dull greens, blues, reds, yellows, etc.?). She's not really a veteran of a war, though, just of living in the Scarred Wasteland her whole life. I'm not sure how her wing was injured, she probably just pissed off the wrong dragon. She's kind of an asshole OMG. I'm pretty sure she doesn't even remember exactly how she got her scars LMAO. The scars that end up sticking aren't always from the worst injuries. Her birth clan, a devout Plague clan, kicked her out when they discovered her trying to heal the wing rot she contracted with her magic. (They felt it was cheating somehow.) In his original canon he's an elf in an area that LOATHES them. (Elves are considered ~creepy~ because they've evolved themselves to be almost 100% unemotional - and since they're raised in a super logical culture they end up acting 100% unemotional regardless. Humans find that pretty... weird. And terrifying. Everyone is super scared of elves even if most elves aren't really going to go around picking fights most of the time because that's NOT logical LMAO.) Dimas doesn't fit into elf culture since he [i]does[/i] have emotions, so he tries to pass as human and gets... outed. And violently attacked. This is what happened to him, try to gloss over it if you don't want to see mentions of extreme violence: [size=1]basically they try to gut him ahaha it was REALLY bad and he almost died of infection because he lived alone in the woods at the time and had to spend his recovery time completely in hiding.[/size] WELL. At least he got the other guy back better, I guess (Dimas had to kill them to get away). Haha yeah okay that's not really a consolation, Dimas hates violence. :C In the Flight Rising version, I guess someone just really hated his clan??? They're still trying the whole BREED EMOTIONS OUT OF US thing, so I could see someone from another clan being scared of him if they found out where he was from. ;~; @IronPen I love Renata's simple color scheme and accent OMG. *w* The yellow highlights of her eyes, spines, and claws look GREAT. @Niomedes Rebecca is gorgeous aaaaa! She has a bio that goes into more detail, but the majority of her scars come from an Emperor attack that destroyed not only her previous clan, but also her Charge. Long story short, he came across a dragon hunter who had been so successful he had earned the title "dragonslayer". Upon meeting him, Astra refused to kill the hunter, even as he wounded him gravely. Astra managed to incapacitate the dragon hunter and escape, but being in the condition he was in, he couldn't save his friend in a later battle. Thus, even when he transforms into his elven form, he does not hide the scars left by the dragon hunter. Shadow, Shugo, and Manic are all "Sonic"-themed dragons. All those scrapes with robots, monsters, street gangs, and close encounters with death are bound to leave these boys with a few marks. Shadow is also a coli dragon, so, seemed fitting.
