This is my first attempt at making a subspecies. A lot of people have becomed interested in my pairing I have called Halloween Curse that I've decided to make a subspecies after them! And since the new venue came out I finally have a perfect place to start this subspecies off. If anyone can help me with designing this forum please feel free to speak up. For now I will be working on banners, pictures, i mostly have everything down to a basic thing including genes, flights, colors, and even different species though I will probably mostly limit it to nocturnes where as others like wildclaws, and coatls are rare and imperials are considered by are probably more dangerous than their smaller noct cousins. This is just the introduction, I will probably redo this entire post once i get a hang out making a subspecies. This is to get the word out and explain the mostly basics for this future subspecies. Any and all help is accepted and i may run a raffle as well with the winner getting the gen one dragon that inspired this entire subspecies!!! and any other prizes i have or are donated to me!! The raffle will probably last until halloween with the grandprize being the 'first' Halloween Curse Dragon. For now its still in the planning. Now let me try and explain the lore of the dragons of the Halloween Curse. I may name it to Ghostlight curse or something but for now it will be halloween curse. But, some of these nocturnes were met with unfortunate fates, as some dragons saw them as descendants of the terrible Shade, only talked about in hushed whispers. So, naturally, when the ever shifty nocturnes came into view, most clans called out a war. Many nocturnes, simply misunderstood creatures, were attacked by neighboring shadow clans. Some nocturnes were slain before they could even leave, their precious egg being lost among the forest forever... Or so one thought. One by one the eggs hatched, lost in the ruins with no clan to call home. Luckily, they found themselves in the (until recently) sealed up area of the forest, called the Ghostlight Ruins. Most were scared and confused, looking for a parent or elder dragon to guide them and keep them safe from the unknown terrors of the dark. To their dismay, no adult dragon could answer their pitiful cries, and, eventually, they grew silent, realizing they were alone. The ones that were brightly colored were slowly picked off by nearby Beastclans, their hatred of all dragon kind, showing no mercy to the new hatchlings. The few that survived were ones with darker hide to help them camouflage themselves in the dark night. Eventually, they grew up, forming a group of their own inside the untouched Ghostlight Ruins. Never having seen another dragon, they grew accustomed to each other; most lost their ability to mimic others, while others honed their mimic powers to even copy the Beastclan creatures that took so many of their brothers and sisters. This gave them an edge against them, and they became some of the better skilled dragons in fighting off the creatures, some even fooling monsters into thinking they were one of their own. Their slyness helped them survive the years. Though, most discovered it was hard to communicate through the dark of the Foxfire brambles. They used their wings, the color of fire, to message one another instead, using the glittering scales and patterns to signal to others of their kind. The mute dragons thus became a skilled, silent pack hunter, much like mirrors. Some of the more powerful nocturnes developed wings as hard as crystal, to both resist tearing from the thorns in the bust, and to also signal others of its kind from far away. There were others that were more skilled, unlike their brutish brethren, able to think and plan, than rely on power alone. These dragons developed beautiful patterns on their wings for more detailed signals, and were usually the leaders or tacticians of any clan. They are known for their brilliant mind and creative ways of mimicry, even dabbling in the art of magic, which they had learned from observing beasts who could wield elemental powers. There are those of the crystal wings that know magic, but they are rare, and usually only use their magic to batter their enemies senseless, which some Monarchs think is wasteful.

These are the true Halloween's cursed dragons. Hallows are descendant from the original clans, and are most common of the variants. They usually stay to their clans, and are a bit nervous to trust other breeds. They can, and will, mock other dragons true to their Nocturne natures, but they have developed their own personalities and traits since being isolated from dragon kind for so long. They do have a kindred to Imperials, Wildclaws and Coatls, since they are much like the Nocturne and rare in number, but the more common Mirrors, Tundras, Faes and Gaurdians they steer clear of. Most are very shy, tend to stay in the shadows, and love visiting the Ghostlight Ruins constantly. They really shine while fighting, guiding other dragons of their adopted clan through the perilous area. They often times will scold, or even attack a dragon that makes a battle cry, as they see it as a waste of energy in times of battle. However, they will talk to you in normal circumstances, but they are quiet and reserved. This is the most dangerous of the the four possible breeds. It is a creature of choas, and uncontrolled power, named Emporer for its almost equal footing to the 11 headed counter-part. It is savage and downright untamable, most cast out from their clans as soon as they are born, for even the hatchling could wreak havoc upon the clan. Those unfortunate clans that keep one usually befall a terrible demise, unless the creature is chained and bound. Though there are exceptions, the white bellied variants have all the raw power, but none of the madness, instead, being timid and scared creatures, mostly cowering rather than attacking. This variant is rare, and are fewer in number. These are coveted as generals or samurai warriors. They are skilled in fighting, and named for their habit of making sure their targets die a swift death. They often wield swords, but are known for fighting with their sharp toe claw. They are noble and proud creatures, and are the more responsible of the four breeds. Even if one has magic, it will not use it, rather using their sword and claw to attack their foes. Reapers are legends for being the last foe a dragon will ever face in battle, for once they have you in their sights, the bell tolls for you. This is another rare variant, and for good reason. These are the most beauitful dragons among the Halloween Curse breeds. They use their bright, fire-y wings, not for fighting, but for flirting, attracting hordes of dragons that want to mate with them. They are often lazy, and waited on hand and foot by their many admirers, and if one has crept into your clan, you can be sure every dragon in your lair wants to either be them, or be with them. They are also the most noisy of the four, their hauntingly beautiful melodies, that many have fallen for, drift through the landscape around them. Those that hear it go mad, and are driven to find the source. There are those that do fight, but use mostly their flashy looks to distract the enemy, even at times blinding them, if they are a crystal wing. Their magic is mostly for show and rejuvenation, wanting to make sure their feathers never dull in color.

Personalities The personalities of these breeds can be determined by a mixture of the color of their bellies and their flight combined. There is a preferred pairing of colors and flights, but they are only preferred not enforced. Hallow's develop the glimmering belly from how they act or what their nature is. Most of these follow true through the four variants but there can be some exceptions to each rule. Some combinations of flights, breeds and colors can completely change an indiviuals behavior. A common example of this is the normally savage Emporer's Curse. If a Emporer's Curse is born with a white belly, it will turn from a savage beast to a terrified, timid creature that would rather run away and hide than attack. With time, these can turn into wonderful companions who, if you treat them right would protect you and your clan with its life. Now, let me go into more depth about the different traits. White bellies are normally a sign of a dragon's innocent and willinginess to help. These traits are wonderful to have when you end up lost in the Ghostlight Ruins with no one to help you. You want these to come to your rescue. Wind White bellies are the most relaxed and airheaded off the bunch, often being distracted by bright things and even other Curses's wings often becoming transfixed by the shiny flickering patterns as the other dragon is more often than not yelling at the poor windy to dodge or run from an attack. The Plague White bellies are more snarky and sarcastic. They will still help you out but not without a fair share of complaining from them. They find their Wind brethern bothersome and annoying but get lonely if they can find another around. If they become alone for any reason they will immediately look around for a friend and latch onto them, but play it off as if it was nothing. Shadow White bellies are the more stable of the three, often helping to balance out windy and plague White bellies. They think with their head and their heart often becoming caretakers or babysitters even. They are always around to lend a willing paw and are hard working. However if they become bored or fell like they are useless to you or the clan they will leave to find where they are needed but if they stay most will go into a deep depression though wind white bellies can sometimes prevent this if they can focus for long enough. Colors: White-Silver Black Bellies are your average bullies, and most are black because their nocturne ancestors probably witnessed a fellow hatchling being killed by a beatsclan or some other unknown horror. Thus these can grow up to be spiteful and even hateful to others, though other just seem more sad and prone to depression, this can make them snap towards others who try and help them. The lighter color of black the less mean they are in turn with grey bellies being sad and obsidian bellies be outright hateful. These dragons are also more likely to mock other dragons voices to lure you into their trap. Wind Black bellies are terrible pranskters with no limits on what pranks are okay and not okay. They are willing to do anything to another dragon just so they can laugh at them falling on ice or even getting seriously hurt depending on how black their belly is. A Plague Black belly just doesn't care. They will be more likely to ignore you and outright snap at you if you even touch them. These are more than likely to go into rages and attack anyone, young or old, if they make the plague dragon mad. They more often will have a territory and will keep dragons out of it, even if they choose a small space in the lair to curl up in, it is still their territory and it would be not wise to cross that line unless you want a mauling. Shadow black bellies are far more cunning and are more likely to try and take over a postion of power. They will slowly climb up the ranks, use tricks and use they're mimic powers to trick others into thinking the clan leader said something to anger the clan. They usually act nice until they get what they want and then they control everything you love. If one of these shadow curses are in your lair be wary and wise to keep an eye on them for they are the more deciteful of them all. Colors: Grey-Midnight These are the magically gifted of the three bellies and have characteristics of the other two depending on how bright or how dark the purple is. Light purple bellies such as thistle or lavender are like wiccans or white mages, using their magic for good and healing purposes. They will be more likely to defend a clan they are loyal to than to simply stand by. While the darker purples such as Royal or Shadow are much more likely to attack a clan to try and take over; these are your warlocks or witches, using their magic to hurt others and get their way. Some even use their magic to lure other dragons into their trap and make them obey their every command. The light purple bellies and the dark purple bellies often fight each other, and its best to have one of each in your clan to use the best of magics defense and attack. One purple belly that is most feared are the shadow purple bellied Emperors; the one foe you wouldn't want to face down. The darker the belly the more spiteful and terrible it can be, and combined with the cunning mind and an Emperor's power it would be on par with his 11 headed cousins. Colors: Shadow-Royal

These are the magically gifted of the three bellies and have characteristics of the other two depending on how bright or how dark the purple is.
