Snapperflies are considered a good luck omen, because almost everywhere they appear they bring joy and help. It is considered lucky to see one, because they still mostly keep to themselves.
It is said, that when the first Snapperflies came to the Viridian Labyrinth and Windswept Plateau, they were ordinary Snappers, from some of the very first Clans who left the Shattered Plain to travel the world. They were amazed by the new places they’d discovered and were interested in exploring them, to add to their knowledge. However due to their size and inability to fly, they couldn’t help but trample the flowers in the Gladekeeper’s gardens, and while in the Windsingers territory they had no means of going outside of the Zephyr Steppes. The Windsinger and Gladekeeper couldn’t help but notice the Snappers sadness, and together they decided to give them the ability to fly. The Gladekeeper made some changes to their appearance, changing their markings to match the butterflies in his gardens. While the Windsinger, who was in charge of giving them the gift of flying, making them slightly lighter, their wings large, and also made a few changes to their personality, making them a bit more joyous.
After being blessed by these two deities of the nature and the wind, the newly created Snapperflies joined together into swarms of their own, celebrating their new abilities. Over time, they started joining clans to help them through the pains of losing a member, trying to soothe the pain and cheer them. And in clans that were going through changes that could tear the clan apart, in attempt to bring them back together and ease the tension, trying to help the clan with their knowledge and the joy they bring.
No two Snapperflies are alike, and each Species brings its own unique charm to the Clan it joins
