The heavens above
glisten with constellations
and sprawling galaxies
seemingly painted by a divine
hand. The eternal night here
is gentle, with the light of
the moon lustrous upon the
boughs of a forest that blossoms
with miniature stars. Here is
a haven from the broken,
mutilated landscape of the
Starfall Isles, where the
eldritch spirits linger, basking
in pockmarks of ancient magic,
and the chalcedony cliffs
have become a graveyard of
unforgiving gods.
Any dream that lasts too
long becomes a nightmare.

For millennia, ancient, primordial spirits have ruled this universe, creating worlds and heralding their destruction at their whim. They created Sornieth, and in their exhaustion, fell into a deep slumber until it was time to once more time to begin anew.
In their dormant period, new magic had developed- that of the Eleven, and it has grown immensely powerful, untainted by the dark energies of the Old Magic. But of course, remnants of the Old Gods still remain.
Remnants such as a wraith-like creature that formed from an eldritch mix of Old Magic energies and that of modern Shadow magic.
There are talismans of the Old Gods, traded in obscured black markets. And there are ancient texts of forgotten spells, in runic, nearly undecipherable languages. These books are buried in libraries across Sornieth, untouched. But one seems to have been uncovered by a certain Nature dragon.

The dragons of Arcane have always taken pride in the erratic nature of their magic, and their remarkable ability to harness it and transform it into things previously thought unimaginable. One Clan, hidden in the depths of the Starwood Strand, is led by an war mage and his mate. Ceto is an ancient spirits from the days of yore, a child of a primordial race who ruled in the time of the mysterious Old Gods. Often remaining secluded from the rest of the Temple's affairs, she haunts a system of caves in the abyssal stretches of the Inanis territory, carved into the cliffs of the trenches and sustained by the magma vents that network through the darkest depths of the Sea of A Thousand Currents. Few dare to venture down to her treacherous domain, as those who return do return fall afflicted with madness, said to be caused by the malevolent energies of her brethren, who begin to stir.

Reyftzhehendren is the elder of the Old Queen's two children, who, as customary for children of Frosthollow's ruling bloodline, engaged in battle to claim their inheritance to the throne. After a decade of war that divided the kingdom, Reyft laid a trap that ensnared her brother in a dimension manifested from dark magic, leaving her the victor. Throughout her reign, she has employed this dark magic numerous times to ensure her dominion. However, underneath the Winter Queen, the kingdom has slowly begun to succumb to dark spirits of ancient days, and they have awakened with a newfound vengeance.

Hyperion is the creator of the Aetherwoods, creating a barrier of energy around a section of the Starwood Strand and obscuring it from sight. From there, he healed the land of it's meteor scars and sickened flora, leaving a pure and untainted refuge of Arcane land. After spending many moons in other Flights on the battlefield, he returned home with a passion to create a refuge from the war torn lands and the corruption that begins to spread throughout Arcane.

Originally having met Arrossire and Hyperion during her time studying under the Arcanist's greatest astronomers, she greatly valued their friendship as a source of relief from her long and exhausting work. Many moons after they parted ways, Iolite's travels brought her to stumble upon the Aetherwoods, where she was welcomed with open wings.
Iolite has devoted her life to the study of the celestial bodies that the Arcane so greatly value. An avid astronomer, her craft has resigned her to days in the observatory scribbling notes, but she would not have it any other way.
Arrossire spent his days as an engineer for the Arcane army, his specialty being in detonation and demolition through the careful study of chemical and elemental reactions. This deep knowledge of molecular science, when combined with Arcane's ability to withstand and manipulate radiation, can create powerful effects on the battlefield. After his days with the army were over, he found support and companionship in Hyperion, where they combined their magic to create the Aetherwoods and live in a place of tranquility among a marred landscape.
Tove is a wishweaver, making a living off of the those who venture to the Starfall Isles from faraway lands in search of magical spectacles and sights that bend the laws of nature. She has mastered this art, and uses the Arcane affinity for dreams to reflect for her customers their deepest desires through specially concocted potions. This business allowed her to thrive, but Tove knew that her own desire was to find a sense of belonging- which she found in the Aetherwoods, invited into the hven by Arrossire after she impressed him so with her alchemical skills.
