Wind Whistlers keeps on growing, and by doing so, keep there adventures strong. Wind Whistlers started out small, only a few dragons who had barely escaped from a terrible capture. There were only three of them, Oblivian, Carlianara, and Nilaan, but they kept strong and found a home. Oblivian was made leader, and when Carlianara became his forever-mate, she, too, was made leader. Oblivian and Carlianara's offspring, Valleylilly, Shadow, and Mystic, were soon born, and from then on the clan kept on growing. I am but a meer traveler who came from... well, I'm not sure. I was very young, only eight, when I was rescued by dragons from my terrible family, who had stolen me from the dragons when I was too young to remember. Or at least, that's what the dragons told me. They were , and they took care of me very well. The leader was a female named Elix, and her clan was very big. I lived with them for a very long time, until I was old enough to take care of myself and I ran away. I never knew that the dragons were not my true family until I realized that actual dragon babies looked nothing like me. I came upon the Wind Whistlers very oddly, when I almost fell into the Pit of the Dead. Luckily, Oblivian had seen me, and he rescued me from a never ending hole. He welcomed me into his home, and I've lived with them ever since, watching it grow, and writing about each dragon and adventure they have. [size=5]S[/size][size=3]oon after, more dragons became part of the clan Wind Whistlers, beginning with a Bogsneak, , who had been badly wounded from an attack. Carlianara healed her, and she thanked them grately, joining them in there adventure. The Wind Whistlers then met a Wildclaw, Rocke, who introduced them to his home. Then he, too, joined them, and Rocke's first lair became great friends with the Wind Whistlers. Many more have come, and the clan Wind Whistlers keeps on growing. Windeer Lair is kind of like an ant home, it goes underground from the beginning, and many rooms and pathways are in it. Infront of Windeer Lair is a beautiful, hearty forest, that looks like it goes on forever, but it does adventually stop far, far away when a ginormous mountain blocks it's path. To the right is only the cliffs, but beyond the cliffs is a beautiful ocean with islands far away. To the left is a hole so deep that you can't see the bottom, and cold air and spooky fog slithers out on foggy days. A natural ramp leads down to the rest of the world, and a long distance away is a village where the Wind Whistlers gets there goods, though they rarely need it. The forest gives them plenty of food, and with a lair so far down into the earth, they find lots of strong things to build there armor out of. [size=5]W[/size][size=3]indeer Lair has many rooms and hallways. The main places are: >Starlight Observatory: a room that climbs inside Sinafer cliff and gives a great view of the world in case someone needs to keep watch >Willowind Healing Room: where Carlianara works her magic of healing on any hurt or wounded thing >Wind Palace: where everyone feasts, and the main entrance >Doon Hall: the hallway that leads to everyone's personal rooms where they sleep and keep there stuff And so on. They lead Wind Whistlers together, though they hold meetings that all members of the clan can atend to when a choice must be made. There are higher ranks then others, but they have no more respect than the lower ranks (with an exception to the leaders). [/color] [color=#EEEEEE]______[/color] [color=#42291b][size=5]T[/size]he ranks are Leaders, Intellectuals and Gifted, Warriors, Gatherers and Crafters, Sellers and Buyers, Wanderers, and Members.[/color] [color=#EEEEEE]______[/color] [color=#42291b][size=5]T[/size]he jobs of the different ranks are: >leaders: those who oversee the clan, who make choices that are best for the clan, lead the clan through anything, and protect the clan at all costs. >intellectuals and gifted: these dragons are the healers, who heal any hurt dragon, animal, or other that is wounded and has been brought to Windeer Lair, alchemists, who find the best ways to do something or create items and mix materials, and other power given dragons, such as language, ones who can speak to animals, or the wind, or other things. warriors: ones who fight to protect the clan, though the Wind Whistlers try to keep peace. It has no excess rooms, but each room has to be big enough to fit a growing clan! [size=5]T[/size]hough Windeer Lair is very big, it's only because it has many rooms. Rooms for each dragon, working rooms, the hatchery, the giant main room, etc. Try not to get lost! ----- [center]Wind Palace[/center] ----- This is the main room. The first room you enter (besides the long tunnel down into Windeer Lair), this is mainly an open room that leads to the Healing Sanctuary, Starlight Observatory, Hatchery Grounds, Twisting Tunnels, and the Doon Hall. Crystals of all colors cover the ceiling, the walls have crystals too, but smooth ones that don't hurt, and though Windeer Lair is deep, deep down into the planet, the wind blows through with ease. The floor is level with bedrock, an the only spot were it goes up is at the far end is where the feasting and meeting area is. The baby dragons scurry and play in this room, along with the more playful familiars here. ----- [center] Healing Sanctuary [/center] ----- The first room off to the left from Wind Palace, a turquoise-gemed room is lined with bottles, odd materials, and rare flowers. Moss-made blankets are neatly stacked off to the right, and a bar is in front of you. The bar does not hold drinks though. Bottles of weird mixtures and many other things are in cubbies in the bar and on the bar, and millions upon millions of books are stacked behind it. This is the Healing Sanctuary, where Carlianara and all of Wind Whistler's other healers help wounded dragons, animals, and other wounded things. Off to the left is a closet full of more mixtures, bottles, books, etc., that are needed. These, however, are not neatly stacked. They are in a giant pile, in no particular order. No one uses them a lot. Also, I would be surprised if you didn't notice the hanging baskets above you full of more healing things. You can never be too prepared! ----- [center] Storage Room [/center] ----- From the Healing Sanctuary is the Storage Room, where all the food, collected items, weapons, armor, everything the clan needs is kept. Each thing has there own spot, for example, at the far left is the plants for the plan eating dragons, and at the far right is the armor. Not much is to be seen in this room, except the walls, which are my personal favorite. They are lined with a dark blue gemstone, which is a thing most do not realize, only that this is no special room. I specifically asked for another room leading from here that could be mine, since the spot that was chosen for the actual personal rooms has dark brown gems in the walls. My room is not very big, but big enough to fit myself and everything I need (also that if I need a snack at night, I won't get caught sneaking around through the lair, which is forbidden). ----- [center] Starlight Observatory [/center] ----- This place is more in Wind Palace than it's own room. It is a giant tower that is after the dining and meeting spot, with long, twirly stairs inside. They lead all the way out of the ground and into the cliffs that block the ocean. The stairs stop at the top of the cliff and pop out, making an easy and very high lookout. This is also where the younger dragons learn to fly when they're old enough, jumping off to the plateau below and flying minutes before they hit the ground. I once tried it... I was in the Healing Sanctuary for weeks. ----- [center] Hatchery Den [/center] ----- The room after the Healing Sanctuary from Wind Palace is full of nests. A hallway connects this room and the Healing Sanctuary, so the healers can take care of the dragon eggs in the nests. Each nest is made of wonderful moss and soft grass. The walls are lined with orange crystals. This is my favorite room. I love to play with the newborns, and take care of the eggs. Many dragons like this too, mainly Carlianara. A nest has never been harmed, each egg is always hatched, and every baby dragon makes it through there lives thanks to Carlianara and this save haven. ----- [center] Laboratory [/center] ----- After the Hatchery Grounds, a simple, circular room awaits you. Here, you'll find dark purple amethysts as the walls, and a cauldron at the far end. Next to the cauldron (and against each wall in this room) are many unusual things, such as the oddest herbs, strangest materials, silliest plants, weirdest bugs, and even some horrific animals! This would be the Alchemist Laboratory, where the alchemists make pretty much anything! They create the potions and some of the healing medicines for the Healing Sanctuary, and many other useful things that the Wind Whistlers need. I try not to set foot in this room though, for once I turned into one of their test subjects! ----- [center] Training Grounds [/center] ----- After a long, dark hallway form the Alchemist Laboratory, you pop out in a room almost as big as Wind Palace, the Training Grounds. Here, the dragons teach other dragons special things depending on what they want there role to be as a Wind Whistler. Whether if it's becoming a warrior, an alchemist, a healer, a collector, or anything, there is training for it here. They also teach dragons of different clans! A small fee must be paid, but since the Wind Whistlers love to do this, it is not much of a pay. ----- [center] Doon Hall [/center] ----- This is the first place on the right, a long, always growing hallway that small rooms cut off of for each dragon of the Wind Whistlers. The hallway is the only spot in all of Windeer Lair that has no gemstone walls, only strong dirt all around. The rooms for each dragon have a rich brown-colored gem wall, with enough room to hold the dragon, a sleeping place, and any belongings that dragon may have. The first room on the left is Oblivian's corridor, and after his is Carlianara's, and so on. I have no corridor here, as I mentioned earlier. Mine is off from the Storage Room. ----- [center] Twisting Tunnels [/center] ----- After the Doon Hall, long, twisting tunnels are the biggest room of all. Some lead only to dead ends (sometimes literately, dead ends), some lead to secret gardens, others to libraries of millions and millions of books, and (if you happen to follow the right path and not get lost anywhere else), one leads to the treasure chamber, where the Wind Whistlers keep all their treasure, gems, and specialties. Only the dragons of Wind Whistlers know how to get here, and still some of them get lost (did you never wonder what happened to Carlianara's Great Uncle Magmart when he cam to visit?). If you do happen to take the right path though, millions and millions of greatness awaits you! ----- [center] Dining Area [/center] ----- Here, the Wind Whistlers and any guests have their meals. It comes right after the entrance of the Twisting Tunnels, and is decently big, with enough room to hold mainly a giant eating area. Since dragons don't sit on chairs or have tables (at least form my experience), we all sit on a blanket made of only natural things that is decorated with many beautiful colors. The walls are light blue gems, and the celling is painted with tapestries of wonderful sceneries. ----- [center] Kitchen [/center] ----- This room is exactly as it sounds, the place where the food is cooked for all the dragons. Not very big, but enough room to cook meals for each meat, seafood, insect, and plant eating dragon. I think I eat the most out of all of the dragons, even though they're all bigger than me. ----- [center] Glistening Chamber [/center] ----- Connected to the small section where the Starlight Observatory is, a room filled with delicate light and a blanket on the ground which is made of flowers and smooth gems. Here, the Wind Whistlers have their meetings to discus the clans needs, what's happening out in the world, problems, and such that need to be talked about and solved. It's the lightest room in Windeer Lair because bright yellow and blue crystals glow with light. It's only big enough to hold each dragon (with extra space of course, maybe for pacing and such, but no one wants to be cramped), but I guess that's pretty big for the size of the ever-growing Wind Whistlers. Each dragon has a say in the discussion, only Oblivian and Carlianara have a bit more, but they are very kind, listening to each dragon's choice and choosing the best with normally a vote. As I've given hints about, only dragons (adult dragons) can attend this, so I've never been part of it, but I can hear everything they're saying from listening outside. ----- [center] Mechanic Forgery [/center] ----- As you go down the long tunnel to get to the central room, a long, lightless hallway leads seemingly-endless to the left. Not many dare to go into this hallway, but for those who do, their in for a surprise. At the end of the dark-filled path (probably after running into a few walls and stumbling to the rock-covered ground), an eerie glow lights the room ahead. Once you enter the room, you'll see that this glow comes from a lava pool at the end of the room in front of you! This is the only room that has no crystals on the walls, only hard dirt as the floor and walls and giant stalactites coming from the ceiling. It's also very hot, with every kind of tool you can imagine off to the side. This is the Mechanic Forgery, as you probably figured out. Here, the Wind Whistlers build their weapons, armor, and other things with the unbreakable iron they make. They also sell some of the things they create, and get a lot of treasure in return. From the most hearty forests to the deepest, scariest holes, the Wind Whistlers have it all. You'd never want to leave! For more, you'll just have to pay the Wind Whistlers a visit. ----- [center] Delight Forest [/center] ----- In front of the entrance to Windeer Lair, a beautiful forest goes on as if forever. Full of amazing animals, plants, minerals, and a spring that leads into a river which leads to the ocean, that ends very far away at a ginormous mountain, it's the most beautiful forest anywhere. Small hills roll into it, and the collectors search for familiars, food, materials, and knick-knacks in Delight Forest. My favorite spot is about right in the middle of the forest where the spring runs, and a giant rock sits right by it. Many beautiful trees surround the rock, flowers bloom along the forest floor along with the softest moss and grass, and if you go there at sunrise, the new awakened sun beams shine down through the dew-covered spider webs and make the forest glimmer. It is absolutely the most beautiful place ever! ----- [center] Sinafer Cliff [/center] ----- This cliff travels all the way down to the mountain far, far away, and starts before the entrance to Windeer Lair. Mainly light grass grows on top, with only one tree at the start of it. It's nice and tall, a perfect place to look-out and for newborns to test their flying. It stops the ocean wind behind it from turning the windblown, peaceful plateau where the Wind Whistlers live into a hot, sweaty land. I enjoy to sit on the top and listen and feel the wind blow through my hair, enjoying the peace of nature. ----- [center] Oracle Ocean [/center] ----- This ocean seems to go on forever, but you can see a faint island far, far away. The salty wind hits you like an out-of-the-blue idea no mater what kind of day it is, and a bridge that the Wind Whistlers built in Sinafer Cliff leads down to the rocky beach. The beach is small, with tropical trees and poky bushes turning the beach into a sharp, tropical forest. The water is just the right temperature for swimming, and sand runs on the bottom of the ocean for miles. ----- [center] Pit of the Dead [/center] ----- This is called the Pit of the Dead because for one, it never ends, and two, on foggy, mysterious days, shadows seem to lurk out of the pit, and dragons claim that they're the ghosts of souls who fell in. I once almost fell in as well, and that is how I came to the Wind Whistlers, because Oblivian saved me from falling. The pit is between the plateau on where the Wind Whistlers made their home and the rest of the land, with only a spiral, nature-made bridge connecting them. ----- [center] Farenhar Mountain [/center] ----- This mountain is the tallest I've ever seen, far, far away from Windeer Lair, and the only thing stopping Delight Forest from taking over the world (mind you, the world would be much greener and tastier then). It is very ridged and mostly rock, with a few spots where grass, trees, bushes, and things grow. Oblivian once tried to climb it, almost making it to the top, but a terrible storm makes its home at the top, and Oblivian was forced to come back. Demannu (being a true adventurer) flew over it with a friend of his and his familiar. It is slightly circular (circular enough that Delight Forest stopped growing where Farenhar Mountain begins), and brings us the most delightful winds. The celebrations are wonderful moments, and I am so glade to see them. [size=5]T[/size]he celebrations of the Wind Whistlers will continue to grow, and I will continue to write. Enjoy! ----- [center] Whistler Festival [/center] ----- The Whistler Festival was the first tradition the Wind Whistelr ever came up with. It is held on April 11th in honer of when the Wind Whistlers came together and formed the clan. A big feast is held and Windeer Lair is full of dancing and Oblivian will give a short speech about this and that before the Wind Whistlers' special song, called Follow the Wind, is sung. It is truely my favorite moment in Windeer Lair, and I have learned every line and dance move of the festival. ----- [center] Celestial Snowfall [/center] ----- This is my favorite of the Celestial days, out of the Celestial Snowfall, Celestial Blooming, Celestial Scorn, and the Celestial Breeze. It is held on December 1st, even though normally the first snowfall is much earlier than this. In Delight Forest there is dancing, snow-play, and sprinkling and decorating with that year's saved flowers. One reason I love this Celestial the most is because it's on my birthday! So we have a double celebration, with everything originally held on the Celestial Snowfall plus cookies and small things. ----- [center] Celestial Blooming [/center] ----- This is the most special Celestial, being the beginning-of-the-year festival. On January 1st there is dancing, singing, fireworks, and partying. Stories are told later in the day to the younger dragons, and I like to listen in to the fascinating tales they tell. ----- [center] Celestial Scorn [/center] ----- This is called the Celestial Scorn because of how hot it gets. Luckily, the wind around Windeer Lair keeps the home of the Wind Whistlers cooler than most places. Dancing, swimming, and my favorite part, the water fetching, when every dragon goes down to the spring in Delight Forest to collect water, are on June 1st. Though it is very hot, the cooling gusts of the wind keep us cool all throughout the year. ----- [center] Celestial Breeze [/center] ----- Though the leaves starts to fall and the world starts to change colors, this celestial is called the Celestial Breeze for another reason. On this day, October 1st, the wind starts to kick up, stronger than any other day. The wind is so strong that most of the Wind Whistlers just stay inside until the Celestial Breeze day has passed. The traditions still go on though, singing and dancing, and a special favorite of the Wind Whistlers, the play. Each dragon can pick a role in the play, and the plays tell amazing stories. [size=5]I[/size]f you would, follow me, and we will adventure into the traditions of the Wind Whistlers. ----- [center] Hatch Hours [/center] ----- On these special, amazing times, new younglings of Windeer Lair are born. Each dragon crowds into the Hatchery Den to see the moment when the little baby dragon pops its head out. It does take a long time to do this, but none of the dragons loose interest, and when that new baby dragon is fully out, it's surrounded with its family. From then on, a new member is added to the lair. When it is old enough, it can choose to stay and become a Wind Whistler, or go off and adventure the world, and find it's own clan to call home. This is probably my favorite tradition, but there are many others. ----- [center] Flying Time [/center] ----- This is one of the most, if not the most, important thing in a dragon's life. Learning to fly. And Windeer Lair is the best place to do it! When the newborns' wings are finally big enough, and the newborns are old enough, the newborns will climb up the many stairs in the Starlight Observatory to the top of Sinafer Cliff. Up there, they will jump of and (probably after a few times falling) fly into the sky. Once this has been accomplished, the newborns are considered adults, and they are allowed to learn techniques to survive out in the world. Though they get to choose, some courses are essential, such as fighting and building. You're going to want to stay alive out there, right? ----- [center] See-to-be [/center] ----- The old name of this tradition makes sense if you think about it. On this day, the young dragons have learned everything they need to know, and it is time for them to choose their path. If they choose to stay and become one of the Wind Whistlers, then a great feast is held and partying is in Windeer Lair. If they choose to go out into the world, a going-off celebration is held. When they finally get to leave, it is normally the next day, but the party is definitely worth it.
