About

History

Long ago, two young dragons, one Guardian and one Mirror, both blessed by the Flamecaller and with no true parents, met in the Emberglow Hearth.

When the Guardian realized the Mirror was her Charge, they agreed to become mates and soon settled down to create a Clan devoted to the Flamecaller. Soon, they realized that the elements were stronger together and opened their gates to all.

Now, the Clan of Falling Embers is thriving. But darkness lurks deep within the Clan, ready to destroy what the two have built...

Where are the traitors?

The 17 Edicts

These are the tenants the Clan of Falling Embers was founded on, created by the first leaders themselves.

 1. The Clan shall be called the Clan of Falling Embers, afterwards known as "the Clan", and all who do not disturb the peace of the Clan shall be welcomed with open wings, unless they are eventually found to have intent to negatively and detrimentally impact the Clan.
 2. The Clan shall be ruled by two dragons, being known as the Lord and the Lady, and their eldest child, be they drake or dragoness, shall inherit, and this heir shall rule with their mate at their side. If the eldest has gone to serve the Flamecaller or serve in another Clan, the next eldest shall become leader, and so on. If there is no child of the Clan Leaders remaining in the Clan, then select a grouping of dragons with Leader's blood and have the entire Clan vote for the next Leader.
 3. The leaders shall be assisted in their rule by two dragons, being known as the Deputies, and this position shall be bestowed by whichever leader rules the Clan, and not inherited. When a new leader comes into power, they shall grant this position to whom they deem worthy.
 4. The Leaders and Deputies will have the Council by their side, which shall consist of, as well as the Leaders and Deputies, the Heir and the Heir's mate, two great Generals and skilled Warriors from the Clan's army (who shall also be assigned the honorable posts of Guards for the Clan Leaders), the highest-ranking priest of the Flamecaller in the Clan, eleven Flight Ambassadors to provide representation for each Flight and with one of each Flight, a noble-dragon of ruling blood to provide representation for the nobles of the Clan who shall be called the Viscount or Viscountess, and a Councilmember, to provide representation for the dragons of common origin.
 5. The Generals shall be appointed by the Leaders, as should the High Fire Priest, the Flight Ambassadors, and the Viscount or Viscountess. However, the Councilmember shall be voted for by the common dragons, and any dragon of common origins may choose to campaign for the role.
 6. If the Leaders or any other officials of the Clan's Government prove to be corrupt, then they must be demoted from their role and exiled from the Clan entirely. If it is an official found to be guilty of such heinous crimes, the Clan Leaders shall appoint a new official to the position. If the Heir is corrupt, the Clan Leaders shall choose the next-eldest of their children or the Heir's eldest child, or the next-eldest, and so on. If the Councilmember is found to be corrupt, a new campaign and vote shall be held.
 7. The Clan shall also have a Champion, who shall be a brave and powerful warrior meant to fight for the honor and glory of the Clan. When the time comes to select a new Champion to battle for the Clan, a tournament shall be held, and all members of the Clan, excluding the members of the Council, shall participate. The shall fight in pairs, with the victor of each battle moving to the next round. The last dragon standing shall be appointed by the Clan Leaders as the Champion of the Clan. The last to fall to the Champion shall be named the Warrior, and they shall be appointed by the Clan Leaders as the apprentice to the Champion, who shall succeed them. The Warrior may challenge the Champion every seventeen days for the position as champion.

Barons and Baronesses

The Barons and Baronesses live on small pieces of land on the edge of Clan territory. Their Baronies serve as trading posts and are the first line of defense against enemy invasion.

Flamewish Barony is the first of the baronies. It was founded by Lord Flamewish Wonderfire and is ruled over by the powerful Wonderfire family. The Wonderfire family is the most powerful of the barony families, and Fireborn often listens to them for advice. While occasionally the Clan is attacked by a group of Longneck, or, occasionally, the other way around, most of the time both groups leave one another alone. As long as they don't bother the Clan, Fireborn and the rest of the Clan will not bother them. However, despite this usually amicable relationship, when a group of Longneck is found in Clan territory, the Clan will usually be wary for a few days or however long it takes the Longneck to leave. In fact, in some cases, an armored escort of a few warriors might be sent to escort the Longneck if they act threateningly in any way. Relations with the Harpy BeastClan are very tense. Since a harpy was one of the three BeastClanners who attempted to kill Lady Fireborn when she was but a hatchling, she harbors a fierce grudge against them. Often, any harpies found on Clan territory will be driven out. If the same harpy is found in Clan territory, it will be driven out a second time with a verbal warning. The third time the dragon who found the harpy has permission to actually attack the harpy. Like most dragons, the Clan of Falling Embers is allied with the Dunhoof centaurs, and ambassadors are often sent back and forth from the Dunhoof herd and the Clan of Falling Embers. However, relations with other herds, such as the Wintermane herd, are less predictable. Some herds are more amicable, other herds more aggressive. Unknown herds always cause the Clan uneasiness when they come too close and Because the Clan of Falling Embers is entirely landlocked, with no streams or oceans, encounters with the Maren do not normally occur unless it is the Clan itself intruding on Maren territory. When this happens, of course, it is usually for no good reason and often the Maren attack. However, one of their own, the Mirror LuckyPuzzle, is actually a Maren shapeshifter. However, only his mate and children know of this fact, and most assume that he is only a normal dragon. Relations with the Talonok BeastClan, whether Raptorik or Tengu, are very unfriendly, as a Raptorik also assisted in the attempted murder of Fireborn as well when she was young. Raptorik and Tengu found intruding on Clan territory will be immediately driven out, using the same three-strike system as the one used with intruding harpies. A small flock of Tengu, however, seems to have taken up at least somewhat permanent residence near the Clan and makes it its mission to harass the Clan. Relations with the Serthis are extremely tense, almost all-out war, in fact, because a Serthis was the one to actually almost kill and permanently main young Lady Fireborn. Any Serthis found on the territory will be immediately driven out, with a warning to not return. The second time the Serthis might be attacked and even marked somehow. If the offender intrudes a third time, the marks will show that this has happened already and the Serthis will be attacked and almost possibly killed.

Unknown herds always cause the Clan uneasiness when they come too close and

Because the Clan of Falling Embers is entirely landlocked, with no streams or oceans, encounters with the Maren do not normally occur unless it is the Clan itself intruding on Maren territory.

A small flock of Tengu, however, seems to have taken up at least somewhat permanent residence near the Clan and makes it its mission to harass the Clan.

icon_serthis.png

Relations with the Serthis are extremely tense, almost all-out war, in fact, because a Serthis was the one to actually almost kill and permanently main young Lady Fireborn. Any Serthis found on the territory will be immediately driven out, with a warning to not return. The second time the Serthis might be attacked and even marked somehow. If the offender intrudes a third time, the marks will show that this has happened already and the Serthis will be attacked and almost possibly killed.
