This can be anything from a lore snippet to a hatchery banner to a single word, just as long as the dragon is purchased with something in their bio. If possible, use this pre-set information to inspire the dragon while building the character. The only exception to this rule is if the only thing in the bio is a scry. 2. Upon reaching level 25, a dragon gains immunity from death, but still remains part of the clan. As a reward, you may purchase the dragon an expensive item. 3. If an apparel pull comes up four times without being able to do anything, you must hatch an unhatched egg from your vault. If you are out of eggs and do not have the money for more, this rule becomes obsolete.

Special Thanks to @CleverDual for the amazing banner!

After my first pinkerlocke kind of fell apart, and I began to lose my motivation for it, I'm decided to regroup and create a new Pinkerlocke! I'm really excited for this, and I'm hoping I have more direction for this, so I don't lose interest. As of me writing this, I'm still working on brainstorming for the overall plot, but I know how I want to start it and have a few smaller ideas floating around too!

So, without further ado, announcing The Paths We Wander!
I have once again copied the rules from this forum post. My additional rules, which differ slightly from the rules of my previous pinkerlocke, will be posted at the end.

Basic rules:
A death in the coliseum = that dragon must be exalted. This is the most essential rule of a nuzlocke.
All loot obtained in the coliseum is irrelevant, as is the loot obtained from gathering.
There are no restrictions about applying apparel to your dragons. Do whatever makes sense to you. Same goes for familiars.
Ping or message me if you take the challenge ;p (you don't actually /have/ to but I'd love to see how it goes!)
And, most crucially, all nuzlocke activity corresponds with the loot you obtain daily from Pinkerton's plundered pile!

Optional sentimental rule:
If a dragon reaches level 25 it "retires". It can join the ranks of your main lair.

Drops of Fate:

Food: Coliseum time!
Plants: 10-20 matches
Insects: 20-30 matches
Seafood: 30-40 matches
Meat: 40-50 matches

Choose from one of these two rules:

Hardmode: You must select coliseum challengers in your lair using a random number generator. Then, select the coliseum arena that corresponds to the highest level dragon of that group (For a 'medium' mode, select the venue that is one tier down from that of highest level dragon). If your dragons level up while in an area, you can still stay there for the whole day. You can quit your battle streak at any time to regen health, and flee from battles if it is appropriate. Don't try do 50 matches in a row unless you want a wiped-out dragon!

OR

Easymode: Choose whichever team and venue you want and go for it. Running from battles, using health pots, and ending the battle streak is fine, as I explained above.

(These ranges can also be altered to suit your level of activity/personal preference.)

Materials and trinkets: Flex your creative muscles!

Note that there is currently a glitch in which Pinkerton mislabels materials as trinkets. If you obtain a "trinket" from Pinkerton, double check to make sure its not actually a material!

Materials: Do some writing for your nuzlocke. How does your new nuzlocke clan change and develop? What are your dragons like personality-wise? How do they get along? How do they die? Is there an antagonist in this nuzlocke, or are they merely struggling against the forces of nature? Write dragon bios! Make a blog, or a thread for your challenge in the creative forums! Write short stories or paragraphs, or add to one big one adventure!

Trinkets: Do some art for your nuzlocke! Digital or traditional, use whatever medium feels best for you. Draw deaths. Draw dragons. Draw humanized versions of your dragons (if that's your sort of thing). Draw familiars and dragons together. It doesn't have to be that good or elaborate. If you make a nuzlocke thread, post your art there.

Obviously, you might not have time in your day to do something creative. If that's the case, don't worry about it. This challenge is meant to be fun and heartwrenching, not a chore.

Rare drops: Wildcards

Familiars: Buy the cheapest dragon in the auction house of a specific breed. Use a random number generator (between 1-14) to determine which breed you will get! (Optionally: attach the familiar to the new dragon.)

1. Fae
2. Guardian
3. Mirror
4. Pearlcatcher
5. Ridgeback
6. Tundra
7. Spiral
8. Imperial
9. Snapper
10. Wildclaw
11. Nocturne
12. Coatl
13. Skydancer
14. Bogsneak

Apparel: Breed two of your dragons. The dragons you pick are up to you. You can also change one of the genes on a dragon, or use a scatterscroll if you are rich and crazy.

Note: You must flip a coin for each hatchling once they hatch. If tails, the dragon is dead and you must exalt it. This is in keeping with the origional Nuzlocke thread's rule, because I really like it.

Battle items: Uh-oh!!!

Flip a coin.
Heads = DEATH STREAK
Tails = Nothing happens

DEATH STREAK rules: Randomly select three dragons using a random number generator. Fight in the coliseum using the "food" rules 10 rounds consecutively (ie. you cannot leave that arena), quitting midway if a dragon dies. If you are using the easymode rules, switch to the hardmode rules for battlestones.

(Note that the 'death streak' needs to be tested for deadliness. It should be pretty deadly, but not totally impossible.) After testing, it seemed to work as intended! Survival depends on your willingness to be both lucky and cautious.

Starting out:
Using the method I detailed in the "familiar" possibility above, obtain a small number of dragons (I suggest 2 or 3). If they already have names, keep the name! If not, name them whatever you like. The challenge starts once all of the dragons, if they are hatchlings, grow into adulthood.

Alternatively, choose 2-3 existing dragons in your lair to participate. This has certain advantages (eliminates the need to wait for maturity and breeding cooldowns) but also some disadvantages (less random=less exciting).

You may want to "partition" your nuzlocke dragons away from your regular dragons so you don't get them mixed up.

Losing:
If your dragon count falls to zero you have a few options
1. Declare the challenge a "loss" and give up
2. Wait for Pinkerton to drop a familiar
3. Just say "welp" and buy another dragon from the AH without waiting for Pinkerton because you lack patience.

My Additional Rules:
1. When purchasing a new dragon, you must buy the cheapest dragon of the rolled breed that you find that contains something in said dragon's bio.

The wind wasn't carrying her they way it usually did, she felt the wind falter beneath her wings. Panic sparked in her, but she refused to admit she was failing. It wasn't supposed to be this way! Why weren't her wings working? Of course, she knew why she was flailing. Not long after she had hatched, gembond began forming on her body. It started small at first, hardly enough for anyone to notice. She had been able to move well enough to the Inn her family had decided to make their home, but it just didn't stop. Vaille had known this was a possibility, that the spread of the gems would hinder her flight, but she had refused to believe it. Soon, it became clear that Vaille would not be able to regain her balance. The wind whipped past her as she lost altitude. She tried to cry out for help, but shock kept her voice stuck in her throat. This is it. This is how I die. She thought to herself, feeling the wind tear a few feathers from her wings. The ground was growing swiftly closer, bamboo jutting from the ground and looking frighteningly close to spears. In a last attempt to save herself, she stopped fluttering her wings and begged the wind to catch under them just long enough for her to glide to a nearby clearing. *** The tundra felt nothing but a deep calm within her. Around her, for as far as she could see stretched water. The current pulled at her fur, and above her the night sky shone with brilliant constellations. The scene filled her with nothing but a deep sense of peace. She didn't know how she had got here. She supposed that thought should have frightened her, but it was hard to be frightened when such beauty surrounded her. She felt at home in the waves. Maybe she could stay here forever, enjoying the stars and caring little for anything else. Time didn't seem to matter as infinity stretched above her. She felt the lifetime of the world could pass around her and she would barely notice. She felt- wait, what was that? A gentle sound interrupted her thoughts. It sounded like something was making it's way through the water towards her. Curiosity getting the better of her, she looked up to see a small boat steadily jutting towards her. Aboard it sat a young snapper. he couldn't have been much older than she was. "Dragon overboard!" The snapper called out, breaking the tranquil silence. "Don't worry, I'm coming!" "No! No! I'm alright!" The tundra rolled over so she was paddling herself. Her deep blue eyes met his electric blue. "Oh! A water dragon!" He sounded relieved. "Sorry for disturbing you. Although, now that I'm talking to you, I was wondering if you could give me directions to the windswept plateau. I'm on my way to do some research over there, but I seem to have lost my way..." "I-I don't know." The tundra admitted, feeling the first spark of worry at her vacant memory. "I'm sorry." "No, it's alright! I'll figure it out! I have maps." The snapper shrugged. "Hey, are you alright? You look a bit... lost. I'm Chronos by the way. I don't think I've introduced myself." The tundra opened her mouth to respond, but she didn't know what to say. Where would she even start? "Look, why don't you join me. At least for a little ways. I wouldn't feel right leaving you out here in this state on a night like this." Chronos offered. He reached out an arm, and she took it and eased her way into the boat. The disturbance from the added weight almost caused some of the books in the boat to topple out into the ocean. "Now, what did you say your name was?" "Proxima." She responded, replying with the first word she saw on the open page of a book. She had no idea how accurate this was. Her name was gone with the rest of her memories, if she even had a name to begin with. "Like the star?" Chronos asked. She nodded. "That's a nice name. Well, Proxima, I'm glad I met you, because to be honest, it's a bit lonely out here on the sea by myself. I didn't expect to have much company, because this journey is strictly for research, but I can tell you I'm much happier talking to someone else than babbling to myself." Proxima smiled, and began, for the first time since Chronos' appearance, to relax. Truth be told, she preferred the silence, but she couldn't deny that it was probably better to be with someone for the time being, at least until her memories came back. "Not one for words?" Chronos asked. "Don't worry, you can just sit and listen. I don't mind. I'm used to not many people talking around me anyways." As the night carried on and the sun began to make it's first appearance over the horizon, Proxima settled in and let Chronos' words and the gentle hum of the boat's storm-powered motor wash over her. It wasn't as comforting as the open seas and skies had been, but it was nice, in its own little way. ____________________________________________________________________________________ And here we go! Off to our start! I hope you all enjoy this pinkerlocke as much as I'm enjoying it! I'm probably going to start writing a bit every day from here on out, even though Proxima and Chronos are not even a day old yet. I'll stretch out the "prologue" a bit, and ignore the pulls if they are apparel or food for now. I know you haven't seen much of them yet, but I'm curious, who is your favourite character so far? I've personally really fallen in love with Proxima. She's going to be gorgeous when she grows up! Next

Something was off, and Vaille knew it.

The tundra felt nothing but a deep calm within her.

"Don't worry, I'm coming!"

"No!

I'm on my way to do some research over there, but I seem to have lost my way..."

"I-I don't know." The tundra admitted, feeling the first spark of worry at her vacant memory. "I'm sorry."

"No, it's alright! I'll figure it out! I have maps." The snapper shrugged. "Hey, are you alright? You look a bit... lost. I'm Chronos by the way. I don't think I've introduced myself."

The tundra opened her mouth to respond, but she didn't know what to say.

"Now, what did you say your name was?"

"Proxima." She responded, replying with the first word she saw on the open page of a book.

I didn't expect to have much company, because this journey is strictly for research, but I can tell you I'm much happier talking to someone else than babbling to myself."

Proxima smiled, and began, for the first time since Chronos' appearance, to relax. Truth be told, she preferred the silence, but she couldn't deny that it was probably better to be with someone for the time being, at least until her memories came back.

"Not one for words?" Chronos asked. "Don't worry, you can just sit and listen. I don't mind. I'm used to not many people talking around me anyways."

As the night carried on and the sun began to make it's first appearance over the horizon, Proxima settled in and let Chronos' words and the gentle hum of the boat's storm-powered motor wash over her. It wasn't as comforting as the open seas and skies had been, but it was nice, in its own little way.

@Petall

I agree she will be very pretty. I also like your skydancer :) but then I have always been a sucker for bright colors and strong contrasts. Very curious to see how this story line progresses.
