The immense tracts of land laid on the border of the craigs and the fortress and was a huge mountain range, named Dantagnes (meaning “dancing mountains”). While a majority of it, about 3/4ths, was still considered the craigs, the rest was made of a thick and ancient ice and was apart of the fortress of the ends. The highest peak was stationed directly between the two, overlooking the Southern Icefield. This mountain is called the Lord’s Peak, because the Patriarch liked to sit on top of it and gaze at the sky. The clan worked tirelessly to carved into the mountain range. The lowest mountain, called Ferterris (meaning Fertile lands), belonged to the faction that was now Slain Chaos, and the rest belonged to Gelistros. One of the mountains residing in the fortress of the ends was actually a volcano. This mountain, called Dormivitira (meaning ‘Sleeping Anger’) was the second largest and resides next to Lord’s Peak. The valley between the two held hot springs, heated by the hot magma rolling under Dormivitira. The icy walls of the volcano were warm despite their nature, and those held in high respect were given rooms there. Recreational rooms and hotels and shops where within Lord’s Peak, and residences were carved into the fourth mountain, called Amorte (meaning ‘To death’ ), which resided behind Lord’s peak on the side of the craigs. Most activities occurred at the base of Lord’s peak, a plateau called Caeluterra (meaning ‘Heaven and Earth’) which resided closer to the fortress of the ends than to the craigs. Smaller mountains and plateaus in the Dantagnes aren’t officially named, and have only been explored and studied in hopes of finding more resources. In the valleys and on smaller mountains residing closer to the craigs, a dragon would find dense forests rich with wildlife and fauna (at least, the ones that could survive the weather). The parts of the mountain range that were closer or in the territory of the Fortress of the Ends were colder and more desolate, spare the paradoxically warm Dormivitira. Between the main mountains, valleys, and plateaus were strong rope bridges and carved icy pathways to allow non-flying dragons access to the full extent of Dantagnes. Location(s):
~ Frigid Floes-
When first starting out, the Patriarch found a large glacier among the floes, and carved out an entrance from the top portion. Below the waters laid the true size of the glacier, which he and the matriarch carved into living and recreational areas. When more room was needed, a rope bridge was strung between the old glacier and a slightly smaller one that was carved out for the new arrivals. Eventually this got to small as well, and the clan had to move.
~Snowsquall Tundra/The shattered plain-
The clan moved into a cave found deep within the Snowsquall Tundra that was said to have ties with the Patriarch’s past. The cave system was already intricate and large, so there was no need to tunnel out more rooms. It’s at this point the branch clan of Slain Chaos moved to the Earth Flight, where they made their home at the shattered plains. Clan Gelistros started growing rapidly, and were on the brink of having to move when Slain Chaos revolted. After the battle was fought and Gelistros won, a large amount of dragons moved back to Gelistros, requiring the Clan to search for another new residence.
~Cloudscrape Craigs/The Fortress of Ends-
The clan’s final residence was said to be a gift from the IceWarden to the Patriarch. Government and Jobs:
~There are two dragons, a Patriarch and a Matriarch, who act as the leaders. The dragons of the clan vote for who has greater/absolute power. Once a patriarch or matriarch retires/ dies, their apprentices inherits the role and the vote for absolute power happens again.
~Below the Leaders are the council, made up of five dragons, each taking up a different role. The roles are Healer, Strategist, Warden, Advisor, and Ambassador. Their main job is to council the leaders in their respective fields. They are normally assigned by the leaders, but if a candidate that’s chosen is deemed unfit, the dragons of the clan can vote for a more suitable candidate.
~Healer- Acts as main medical practitioner, and usually uses both healing magic and medicinal herbs. Are the best healers in the clan. Being a Healer is extremely difficult so there aren’t a lot of them, which is why the Healer is so greatly respected. In charge of healers, alchemists, scientists, and semi- in charge of the mages.
~Strategist- The strategist is generally a scholar, or someone of high intelligence. Their job is to devise plans for the economy, employment, education, and other key features. During wartime/ a battle, they may aid in devising a battle plan. They’re in charge of the Accountants, the Merchants, the Freelancers, and any other economical jobs.
~Warden/General- Usually an intimidating dragon of great battle prestige. They’re in charge of the prison/prisoners, the Knights, the Hunters, and the Thieves, and semi- in charge of the Mages. Usually the head of battles, besides the ruling matriarch/patriarch.
~Advisor- The advisor is a moral and religious counciler, and deals in mostly humanitarian prospects. They're also in charge of extracurricular activities. They’re in charge of the Cooks, the Priests/religious orders, hatchling caretakers, teachers, librarians, mapmakers, and others in similar fields.
~Ambassador- The ambassador’s job pertains to social and foreign politics, but also the entertainment fields. They are made to great and take care of any guests/allies to the clan, usually accompanied by one of the leaders. They’re in charge of the Envoys, the Performers, the Artists/writers, Beauticians and cosmetologists, linguist, and translators.
~Lesser in power than the council are the Department Heads and the Matriarch/ Patriarch in training.
~The Matriarch and Patriarch in training serve as apprentices to the current pair, acting in their place when they are MIA and absorbing all the knowledge from their master as to make a good replacement when the time comes. When the Matriarch/Patriarch is ruling, the power of the apprentices in below that of a councillor or a department head, but they are still greatly respected by the clan, as they will be a leader one day. They are generally chosen by the current matriarch/patriarch, and when they get to a certain age they can challenge their positions and a vote for patriarch and or matriarch will ensue, followed by a vote for absolute power.
~There are currently five department heads, each serving under the council of five. The positions are Head of Knights, Head of Mages, Head Alchemist, Head Cook, and Head Scientist. They only really have power in their own department, and are otherwise normal clan members, although with some extra respect. They are voted for/chosen by those within their respective department.
~Other important roles the are weaker than the council but greater than or equal to the department heads in power. Normally jobs that dragons take upon themselves:
~Priest- The priest, more specifically, the Prophet, stays close to the council and to the leaders, forewarning them of oncoming blessings and plagues, hoping to prepare them for what’s to come.
~Accountant- The accountant mainly aids the Strategist in acquiring and budgeting money and profits.
~Envoy- The envoys journey in place of the ambassador to far off destinations of Allies or neutral trading parties. They may also be used as messengers in emergencies. Normally they are excellent flyers with high amounts of magic, but dragons with the ability to cover long distance in a short amount of time on foot are acceptable as well.
~Engineer- Acts as a doctor to any devices of machines that are broken, need repairs, or need upgrades. Most engineers are also inventors.
~Trainer- Usually a strong dragon who could survive alone in extremely harsh environments, the trainer, well, trains dragons according to whatever job they want or need to fulfill. Generally a Jack of All Trades type of dragon to they can teach the basics to young dragons before passing them on.
~Hatchling Caretaker- Dragons who take turns devoting their time to raising and teaching hatchlings until they leave or can take care of themselves. Caretakers must be trustworthy to the entire clan, so there are no worried parents.
~Merchant- The merchants are the buyers and sellers of products made in and out of the clan. They normally serve as the main source of income and are seen as greedy and good at swindling others.
~Normal Jobs held by the dragons of the clan:

~Dancers
~Musicians

~Knights
~Mages
~Freelancers
