The Sun drives life on Sornieth. Everything, from plants to dragons, depend on it. And some fear it. Here in the Hewn City, the sun rises everyday, but never quite illuminates it all. Those who fear its light come here to escape, making lairs in the shadows of its ruinous walls and the shade of the enormous trees that grow outside the old city walls. But a conflux of fear can create something even greater than its believers.

Welcome to Sun in Your Eyes, my combination Pinkerlocke by Tar and Lovecraftlocke by Pasafatu! By the nature of this combination, this story is likely to contain death, possible body horror and violence! Please be aware and I will try to tag each chapter with anything that might disturb the reader.
The rules are as follows!
Pinkerlocke basic rules:
• A death in the coliseum = that dragon must be exalted. This is the most essential rule of a nuzlocke.• All loot obtained in the coliseum is irrelevant, as is the loot obtained from gathering.
• There are no restrictions about applying apparel to your dragons. Do whatever makes sense to you. Same goes for familiars.
• Ping or message me if you take the challenge ;p (you don't actually /have/ to but I'd love to see how it goes!)
• And, most crucially, all nuzlocke activity corresponds with the loot you obtain daily from Pinkerton's plundered pile!
Drops of Fate:
Food: Coliseum time!
Plants: 10-20 matches
Insects: 20-30 matches
Seafood: 30-40 matches
Meat: 40-50 matches
Medium mode: select the venue that is one tier down from that of highest level dragon. If your dragons level up while in an area, you can still stay there for the whole run. You can quit your battle streak at any time to regen health, and flee from battles if it is appropriate. Don't try do 50 matches in a row unless you want a wiped-out dragon!
Materials and trinkets: Flex your creative muscles!
Materials: Do some writing for your nuzlocke. How does your new nuzlocke clan change and develop? What are your dragons like personality-wise? How do they get along? How do they die? Is there an antagonist in this nuzlocke, or are they merely struggling against the forces of nature? Write dragon bios! Make a blog, or a thread for your challenge in the creative forums! Write short stories or paragraphs, or add to one big one adventure!
Trinkets: Do some art for your nuzlocke! Digital or traditional, use whatever medium feels best for you. Draw deaths. Draw dragons. Draw humanized versions of your dragons (if that's your sort of thing). Draw familiars and dragons together. It doesn't have to be that good or elaborate. If you make a nuzlocke thread, post your art there.
Obviously, you might not have time in your day to do something creative. If that's the case, don't worry about it. This challenge is meant to be fun and heartwrenching, not a chore.
Familiars: Buy the cheapest dragon in the auction house of a specific breed. Use a random number generator (between 1-13) to determine which breed you will get!
1. Fae
2. Guardian
3. Mirror
4. Pearlcatcher
5. Ridgeback
6. Tundra
7. Spiral
8. Imperial
9. Snapper
10. Wildclaw
11. Nocturne
12. Coatl
13. Skydancer
Apparel: Breed two of your dragons. The dragons you pick are up to you. You can also change one of the genes on a dragon, or place an accent or skin on a dragon.
Note: You must flip a coin for each hatchling once they hatch. If tails, the dragon is dead and you must exalt it. This is in keeping with the origional Nuzlocke thread's rule, because I really like it.
Battle items: Uh-oh!!!
Flip a coin.
Heads = DEATH STREAK
Tails = Nothing happens
DEATH STREAK rules: Randomly select three dragons using a random number generator. Fight in the coliseum using the "food" rules 10 rounds consecutively (ie. you cannot leave that arena), quitting midway if a dragon dies. Switch to the hardmode rules for battlestones (You must select coliseum challengers in your lair using a random number generator. Then, select the coliseum arena that corresponds to the highest level dragon of that group).
Lovecraftlocke relevant Statistics
Every dragon has a certain CP, or a number of Coping Points. As a dragon spends more time in the proximity of the abomination, their CP can and will drop, and as it drops, two and perhaps three other stats are affected: Fanaticism and Despair first, and Avatar second.
• Every dragon starts out with 200/200 CP, 0/100 Possession, 0/100 Volatile, and 0/100 Avatar.
• Each real-time day of play that a dragon spends in proximity to the abomination, they lose points to CP. The actual amount lost varies depending on circumstances.
• Once a dragon reaches 175 CP, double the number of CP points lost per day are then added to either the Fanaticism or Despair stats, again depending on circumstances.
• Fanaticism indicates an increasing bioluminescense, especially around the eyes, eventual blindness, and increasing isolation. Despair is marked by a decreased ability to lie, fading color coat (piebald-paint) and a refusal to stay indoors.
• Every real-time day of play, each dragon is given a d100 roll for Possessability. If the roll is equal to or lower than their current Despair or Fanaticism stat, the dragon gains a point in the Avatar stat. Once a dragon gains a point in Avatar state, begin rolling each day to see if the dragon becomes corrupted by the abomination.
How to Determine Number of Points Lost
1 A dragon born outside the reach of the abomination who moved there as an adult loses 1 CP per day. A dragon born outside the reach of the abomination who moved there as a hatchling loses 2 CP per day. A dragon born inside the reach of the abomination loses 3 CP per day.
2 A dragon with any of the Foci (see the Foci Rules below) loses 1 point per day for each incident of Focus.
How to Determine Where Lost CP Points are Applied
1 If the dragon was first exposed to the abomination early in life (a hatchling at first exposure or born in the clan), the points are applied to Despair. If the dragon was first exposed to the abomination as an adult, the points are applied to Fanaticism.
2 However, if the dragon has any Foci, the points are applied to Despair instead.
3 However, if any dragons died on the real-time day when the point(s) are lost, or if the dragon is under a large amount of stress at the time of point loss, the points are applied to Fanaticism instead.
Foci Rules
To make your abomination more interesting, you can choose to give it certain characteristics. One facet of this is giving it focus points. A dragon with any of the foci will lose an extra CP per focus incident. My focus will be Underbelly and Nocturnes
1 If your focus is colors, this means one point per instance of color. A triple dragon with the color focus in my lair would lose 3 CP per day, plus the other daily point and any other points outlined above. I do not have a color focus for this locke.
2 If the focus is on genes, any dragon with the gene will lose an extra point a day. You could easily make this more like the color lossage I have by designating a foci ‘gene combo’ of primary/secondary/tert, and having the dragon lose 1 point per adherence to the formula, with a dragon of the correct gene combo losing 3 points a day.
3 If the focus is on breed, then each member of the breed in the lair will lose 2 points extra a day.
This isn't the full rules from Pasafatu's thread to conserve space, but also since I will be slightly altering the rules.
