The word "Opal" first originated from India, in Sanskrit. The word meant "precious stone". Later, it evolved into Opalus in Latin, and Opale in French. Finally, in the late 16th century, the word "Opal" did it's last evolution into Opal, and hasn't changed since. The Opal gene was released into the Gem Marketplace on April 13, 2017. The gene is categorized as "rare" because it has a minimal breeding turnout. The Opal gene scroll is available in the Gem Marketplace to this day. So, now that you know a bit about Opal stones and the Opal gene, lets do some history on the Opal dragons we so treasure here. Most commonly, our Opals have a metallic body, with alloy or bee wings. The wings and body are always the same color, usually a black or white shade. The Opal gene, however, can be any shade [i]except[/i] the color of the body and wings. The Opal is supposed to [i]stand out[/i], not [i]blend in[/i]. Common colors are blues, purples, whites, blacks, reds, and so on. Opals' personalities are usually quiet and serene, and they are usually difficult to know. But if you put that aside and look at what is on the inside, not the outside, you will find the beauty, for [i]"The beauty within is far more beautiful than the outward beauty, for anyone can be beautiful on the outside. I put the hatchlings in the AH in whatever form of currency I'm currently lacking xD If you want it converted, however, just ping me here and I will immediately remove it from the AH and send it to you. :) Hatchlings will have eyes that are similar to their tert. color. If you are the [i]only one[/i] on a pair's pinglist, you may request a certain eyecolor! Once hatchlings have been up for sale for [i]more than a week[/i] (I don't count, so it will happen when I realize xD) I will put the hatchling on a discount for 50% off. If a hatchling hasn't been bought by the time it's twenty days old, I exalt them. So sad! Tell me your favorite type of candy in your post!
