Because of the Plaguemothers' capability to make diseases, the Cult of the Devouring Claret worships her as the Goddess of Death and Evolution. In this case, the term 'Death' plays two meanings: one being the literal sense, the other would mean 'change'. The idea of something stopping (be it in personality, or a mindset, or anything tangible or intangible) and life going on without it.
