Welcome!
Walking through the Viridian Labyrinth, you don't really notice anything out of the ordinary. Suddenly however, you feel a strange pull, and you begin walking in a new direction. Before you can even question it, you find yourself in the middle of a gorgeous garden, a pair of dragons nearby, watching over a clutch of hatchlings--it's quite clear that they aren't the parents, however. The Coatl speaks up before you can say anything.
"You've made it through the mirage? Odd.. You do not seem like a powerful mage," she murmurs, eyes wandering over to the nearby Imperial, who stares back silently. "Regardless... Welcome!"

As you spend a few minutes in the strange garden, you learn a few things. The dragons are quick to tell you their names--the Imperial Gardenia, and the Coatl Lieu. You find out the two are mates and are the caretakers of the hatchlings in the clan of Kaiana.
"These young ones are the ones currently seeking welcoming clans--perhaps you'd like to bring them home with you?"

"Welcome to Kaiana!"
The children of the stars are only too happy to greet you into this wonderful clan they call home. You continue to receive such greetings as you move towards the clan's center, towards the hotel you'd heard about. As soon as you get to the entrance, you hear a gentle voice speaking to you. "May I take your bags? You seem weary after your journey."
You turn and discover a young Coatl, a bamboo hat atop her head, one of her eyes adorned with a glittering piece of jewelry with pieces that hung down, almost making it seem as though she were crying--if tears were green, that is. You decide to indulge her, and offer your bag to her. She takes it with a simple smile, putting it on a cart and pulling it along with her as she leads you inside. "My name is Blight; should you require something, you need but ask," she tells you.
You can feel her eyeing you for a moment but you say nothing, feeling calm and at ease. "Are you seeking something here? Or are you just a traveler passing through?" she asks before pausing and chuckling softly. "Or perhaps you've come to hear the story of the clan... If that's the case, one of our elders loves to tell the tale to anyone who will listen. She usually tells it by the ponds in the center of the hotel, and usually starts when the sun goes down."
You think to ask how one can tell when the sun's gone down, as it always seemed dark here in the clan thanks to the thick canopy overhead. But you decide you'll know when it's time; surely there were indicators. She helps you check in and takes your bags to your den for the night before excusing herself respectfully. Curiosity bites you in the end and you head to the center of the hotel, seeking out the ponds you were told of, and find a comfortable seat near an oddly colored Guardian; she has many scars lining her body, telling tale of many battles. She glances up for a moment, seeming to be thinking. A small group gathers round; other visitors curious about the tales as well. Before long, the Guardian smiles and welcomes everyone, easily settling in to the tell the tale.

"Kaiana has lasted many centuries; far longer than I originally expected when I joined as a young one. I had just completed my Search and discovered my charge, the same dragon who was once the leader of this clan. We began in the Starfall Isles, a small clan, as most start. It took us a long time to actually find members, or rather, to have enough space and food to keep them. We always treated each other as family, and it became a custom to treat those we came across in the world as family as well, for we never knew who would be the next member of our clan.
"We flourished under Arcanist for many, many years. Even then we were a popular place for passing dragons to stop for the night; perhaps it was because we were warm and welcoming, something that has become quite rare in this world, where dragons of different elements can hardly seem to get along. Back then, there was a lot more battling; not only among us gathering food, but also other clans and dragons. We never aimed to be fighters, and yet some of us stood up to do so; Demetrii, Icesoul, and I became the main warriors of the clan, defending us from both Beastclans and hostile dragons. Even now we are called upon to stand up and protect the clan, though we're well past retirement age," she says, pausing to chuckle.
"However, as the world began to modernize, introducing new technologies and ideas, our clan that ran on tradition encountered an issue--we were not up to speed in this world, and we needed to change before the new world devoured us. Already there were new diseases spreading rapidly, and the Beastclans we fought so hard to keep out of our home were encroaching on us while we were down. The clan had never been so tightly knit as it had been at that time, but when the clan leaders told us we needed to move if we were to survive, we were very torn... Many of our clanmates stayed in the Starfall Isles, unwillingly finding new homes to settle into, while many others left to serve Arcanist himself. It was a very sad time for the clan, and with heavy hearts, we moved to the Viridian Labyrinth, where a steady supply of medical plants could be gathered to heal our sick.
"It took us a long time to adjust. Without the magical energies constantly tickling us, we felt numb. It was strange, quite honestly... The sounds of the Labyrinth kept most of us awake at night, and many of us begged to go home, to run away from this strange region. However, that is not the way of Kaiana--we perservere through our hardships. Though, admittedly, we did have a few clanmates go mad and flee for home without a second thought, leaving their families here.
"Our numbers were shrunken from these many factors, and it took us quite some time to recover. Thankfully, our new deity was gracious and we were allowed to spread our wings and grow as her forests did. We still send our thanks to Arcanist, too, but we also remember to thank our lady Gladekeeper for being so welcoming to us. We expanded in our new home, slowly becoming used to the Labyrinth--though every now and then we're spooked by something we nearly forgot about. The animals in the forests are quite...well, wild at times.
"As we began to thrive once more, we had to decide what the clan would become; with this modern world, we weren't certain what we could do. But then our wonderful leader told us we would be as we always had been--a warm, welcoming place for traveling dragons to rest for the night. And so, our clan stuck together and constructed the hotel you've come to rest in tonight. After that, we set about building some other places to amuse both our guests and ourselves; if you haven't heard the music already, the tavern is a very popular spot for all of us to gather. We also set up a market and some cute little stores, and then on the farther corner we have a place where our dark-hearted clanmates set up; while their intentions may be dirty, they're all quite pleasant to talk to, so don't knock them until you meet them!" she exclaims with a grin, standing and stretching. "We worked very hard to become the clan we are today, and we hope you enjoy your stay," she says in a quieter voice, and before anyone can ask questions, she's headed inside, apparently tired for the night.
The group that had gathered for the story begins chattering among themselves, and you overhear many questions. One guest is talking quietly beside you to no one in particular, her voice a little spooked. "She didn't mention anything about the hatchlings, though. Where did they equate in?" she asks her invisible partner. "Come to think of it... I haven't seen any hatchlings in the entire clan... Well, except for that sweet little boy at the bakery and the messenger running around the hotel... But they didn't seem quite their age..." she trails off, muttering to herself in confusion as she gets up and wanders off.
You realize that's a bit odd, actually--where are the hatchlings?
