Despite their name suggesting they hold some sort of authority over the Queen, all ruling and colonizing aspects still belong to their female counterparts. This renders Emperors as merely Drones that mimic a Queen's appearance. Due to this similarity in appearance, in times of crisis an Emperor will often be seen temporarily taking place of a Queen in order to trick a would-be attacker, thus protecting the Hive's actual leader. It is this aspect that separates Emperors from Drones most clearly, and elevates them to an extremely vital position in the colony.[/i][/center] [center]-[b]Queens[/b]- [i][img]http://flightrising.com/image_generators/dragonpic2.php?body=42&wing=5&style=7&gender=1&ages=1&prig=12&secg=13&tert=10&elem=2&tertgene=11&spec=prev.png[/img] The duties of a [b]Queen[/b] fall under two sections, the first being organizing and guiding the colony, and the second being increasing the colony's population and influence in the world. All Queens tend to take on a powerful and somewhat regal personality, able to easily prompt others to follow their guidance and leadership. They also have the ability to speak through the voice of their fellow colony members, doing so with the help of a pheromone that they are able to secrete. They are the sole provider of food, spending much of their time gathering pollen and nectar from flowers, as well as each hive's personal army. Often appearing to be somewhat stern, they tend to sacrifice their friends and social life in order to focus on providing resources for their hive. As well as being warriors, they also act as direct servants to the [b]Queen[/b], tending to her every whim and completing whatever task she asks of them. They also are in charge of honey production, dedicating a number of individuals at a time to work on that task alone. They have the easiest and most laid back lives of all colony members, spending most of their days waiting to help the queen continue population. It is only after they have done their part that their real work begins. Once eggs are laid they take on the roll of a Nanny, protecting and caring for them until they are ready to hatch. This includes keeping the eggs at an even temperature, as well as preventing them from being damaged by bugs and predators. Their role as nanny to these eggs continue for some time after they hatch, assisting the hatchlings in growing, as well as teaching them skills they would need later in life. [/center][/i]
