Welcome to Eysea

Before the Bounty of Elements, before the beast clans, there was Eysea. 12 thousand years ago, the first dragons founded this settlement. The Ancients, whom all thought had disappeared until the resurfacing of the Goalers of the Southern Icefields, had claimed this land which we now stand upon. Their images still grace the walls of this city. Our historians are urgently scouring the lands for anything tied to the Ancients that first claimed Eysea -- anything that might suggest they still live. We know they spent centuries squabbling over mates, land, and water. The Ancients of this settlement were able to protect this place, which cannot be said for all dragonkind. One Ancient, a female named Essi, whom the city is named for, came to the north end of Dragonhome with nearly 1000 dragons. It may not seem like much now, but 1000 dragons during this time, would have seemed like 10,000 today. Essi was a warrior princess. Almost all of the settlement leaders made it clear that she was not welcome. All except for Vorso who saw strength in her that none had ever seen before. Vorso extended partnership to her and she accepted. Together they set fire to all of Vorso's enemies and he names Essi his queen. This is all we know.

Because of their actions, Eysea sits thousands of miles from any real threat. Many surrounding, smaller, settlements rely on Eysea for trading and protection. Many of our enemies end up withering away in the desert before ever reaching our gates. With our water source nearby, which Vorso fought most fervently to protect, we have been able to grow much of our own food and some spices as well.

Recently, we have been establishing a few outposts in other regions of the country. Currently, we have an outpost in The Viridian Labyrinth for our Nature brothers and sisters and an outpost in the Sea of a Thousand Currents for brothers and sisters who prefer to live in the sea rather than in the desert. Our Water Outpost has been particularly stressed as the Tidelord hasn't been seen in quite some time. They have been relying on the City much more for support as things in the sea have been more chaotic than they have ever been.

Each will elect a council member who will represent them during political meetings and will be a liaison between the city and the outpost. We are hoping to expand our outposts to all of the flights of Sorienth.
