Gootson's Clan

Vaulting nimbly over a pile of ancient rubble, you emerge from the darkness of the Tangled Wood, and are dazzled by the sudden brightness of the sun. The light seems to soothe the souvenir scratches you received from the thorny undergrowth, and you take your first steps into your new environment.
It's not long before you're faced with a sheer cliff, stretching high into the wispy clouds above you. Upon closer inspection, you see that a multitude of mismatched ruined structures have been carved into the cliff, stacked precariously on top of each other in a bizarre game of dragon-sized Jenga.




To the left of the ruins, the distinct sounds of rushing water catches your attention: Running parallel to the peculiar dwellings is a wide waterfall, fanning out into countless narrower strands. Some routes have rapids, others swerve sharply before converging, and a few disappear entirely into the surface of the rock, and emerge suddenly into the plunge pool below.



Squinting a little, you spy several hatchlings standing at the edge of the cliff. A couple race forward, flinging their tiny bodies into the current. You can barely watch as they narrowly avoid viciously spiked rocks that protrude from the riverbed. Once the two hatchlings are over the edge, they diverge, each taking a seperate path towards the plunge pool. Despite the obvious danger, they show no signs of slowing down: In fact, they seem to be speeding themselves up, desperate to reach the bottom first.
One hatchling lands in the pool with a colossal splash, even showering you as you observe on the opposite bank. The young Mirror female crows in victory, just as her opponent, a male Coatl, slides out of a chute to join her.
