Today I did a tiny mass-hatch for myself for a friend's birthday, but I found I didn't want to keep most of the hatchlings as they were. (Not a surprise there, I hatched like... 4 eggs!)

I'm debating on starting a scatter project... But my tastes are really specific, that I'm wondering how long it'll take me to get there? Usually when I do start scatter projects, I'm pretty open and am just aiming for a nice color combo.

Anyone had their own experiences with doing a ridiculously specific scatter project? How long did it take and what were you looking for? And was it worth it?

I also made a dragon share thread for anyone who wanted to show off their dragons to me! (I'm subbed there!)

I have a pastel themed lair and I've used a total of 548 scatters for a few projects, and I've still never landed on all pastel colors on a dragon.

I'm not sure how specific your tastes are but going for a small section of the color wheel is terrible lol

I have two specific scatter projects, more based on vibes than specific colors though.
Yeah... its gonna be awhile for mine I am pretty sure.

I do have a potential scatter project.
A fae I want to scatter, and her colors are... Raspberry/Maize/Olive. I love Raspberry and the colors *are* kind of matchy, but I hate Olive and Maize isn't as good.
I'd love to get something in the Raspberry range as prim, something in the Overcast range as sec and whatever thats matchy as tert. But knowing my luck with eggs I'll mostly get... the Olive range greens (which I hate). So... I'm torn because it'll cost a fortune I bet

Your lair is so beautiful, I want to bawl over how long it'd take to hatch for ANY of those colors... let alone scatter...

I mainly wanted a vibe match for her.
I feel like I'm not as narrow as your lair in regards to what I want, but I am strongly learning towards earthy, mossy and forest tones. (though i wanna avoid full-on tree dragons.)

I have three in various stages, lol. Triple-pink-range or bust x3...I got close on my G2 Imperial project and then nothing.

personally I don't get scattering, unless you have like a REALLY special dragon. then it makes sense
but if you're just scattering a random g1... why not buy an egg for 250g instead of a scatter for 350g? that makes no sense to me personally!

Today's my close friend's birthday, so a matching hatch date is very important to me!
Been hyperfixating on G1s that hatched today, but alas... I think I might have to resort to a scatter project or settle on a dragon one day or two off. ;w;w;w;w;

Otherwise, I only scatter if the dragon is sentimental.
- my progens and their kids.
- my join date dragon (imp f born on the same day i joined flight rising 8 years ago!)

So yeah, i def think scattering random dragons' is weird, but it's definetly something to do when u have extra money and wanna gamble for fun. ;w;
