But really none of the village, the Plantsingers, or my direct kin were surprised. It is part of our job to report to our Captain regularly, so everyone knew what I was planning to do. The tidal pools that I sing and nurture are far enough from the village so to my knowledge my singing has not disrupted anyone." She produced a soft laugh. "I suppose the irony of a Ridgeback trying to face her extreme hydrophobia was the real source of surprise. But Plantsingers are providers; we are heavily relied on to feed the clan. Usually plant based food mind you, but those tasty little fishies and shellfishies need plants too! And I eat fish. So it made sense to me to design a reliable farm for fish, shellfish, and aquatic plants for consumption. It's not like I have to touch the water all that much. Tides change." [b]Skip me.
