Made a quick mock-up of an idea I had, based on the patterns of blue-ringed octopus(s...). I think it looks a bit creepy as is, and in practice should probably have larger dots, but hey.

This works really well with the Skink and Spinner genes! Really beautiful, though yeah, it is a bit creepy by itself.

This has been suggested a million times, scales. The suggestion is mostly how to do the scale effect without being overwhelming as a tert.

Terts are the hardest thing to match to a lot of the other genes. They often cover up too much of the other genes. Crackle is the worst offender imo. I always end up with underbelly, glimmer, stained or spines. I really love the idea of 'venom'. I need a little more at the underside of my dragons. I like okapi but it's just not quite right. It leaves the belly blank. 'Venom' seems like it would really fill a need.
I also propose a more subdued version of glimmer, something more like iri/shim. So often underbelly is too flat and glimmer too much.
And lastly, perhaps something called 'splash' or 'splatter'. A piebald/paint look alike, that covers feet and belly, in a splashed pattern, as if the dragon walked through a puddle of mud/paint/water.

A gene called Socks that just covers a dragon's feet and legs with the tert color. Examples below.

Maybe it could go up on the belly too, like we see on a lot of tuxedo cats.

I'm really surprised this isn't an option, honestly. It could be really cute and effective. I'm glad to find it already posted so I don't have to suggest it myself. Also, it could work great in place of okapi-- I would use okapi a lot more if not for the awkward neck but no head deal.

I've never made a suggestion on here before but I just came up with a really interesting idea while talking to my friend.
A Rust-like Tertiary. It can be called "Corrosion."
Most tertiary genes are on top[/b ] of the the other two genes, but with this, it would appear to come from underneath the other colors. For example:

Imagine the corrosion as the Leaf color, and the "metal" as Cerulean or Carribean. It's like the inverse of gembond. The rust could be more concentrated at the joints and around the face.

I unfortunately have no examples to show on a dragon, though.

love this idea! having the primary/secondary genes as the "paint" and the tertiary gene as the "rust" would be really interesting on a dragon.
