TOPIC | Grossed out emoji
It came to my attention that I(and I'm sure many other people here) could use a 'grossed out' emoji for all breeds. Something perhaps based on those? Edit: Let me just clarify- I'm more for the extending the range of emotions to include 'feling sick/nauseous than making 'it sooooo gross omg' emoji. It came out during private conversation(since that's when I tend to use emojis rather than in the forum) and the closest emoji 'scared' seemed inadequate. No support... I really don't like any 'grossed out emojis' at all. But, this is my opinion. :)

I don't see why not! I think it'd be pretty fun, and I'm always in favor of more emoji choice

And folks that don't like em don't have to use em

While I can't say for certain since it's not official or anything... but since the majority of 'gross out' style threads are locked/deleted... I'm not sure where the use would come from?

Using it in reference to others dragons, opinions, etc could be funny but I could also see it being used in a negative light more-so than any other emote.

While the deadpan is close and we have an 'angry' emote... we don't really have any direct "this is bad" emotes. Where I feel the gross out emote would fit.

Other then for meme potential the only other application I can think of is one where the person it's directed at would probably not feel great, ha.

Like I can imagine someone posts a G1 they just hatched that's not so great but they say they love it... only for the next several posts to be just gross out emoji's (in classic FR forum style since people often just slap an emote in and then call the post done)

Or someone going into the "Here's my pet spider" threads in GD and posting it... which just isn't necessary - although people still go into those threads anyway to say they'd kill the OP's pet so I mean... I guess it just prevents them from emote spamming in that case.

That all being said, I suppose I wouldn't be 100% opposed but... really I just don't see why we need one

I think it would be fun :3 even if I didn't personally like it I would still want it to exist

@AlphaSobek
Well the idea came to me because my friend was telling me a story and the only emoji close to how she felt at that moment was 'scared' that didn't convey the proper emotion. Yeah I'd guess more than 'grossed out' it would be better to have 'feeling nauseous' emoji. I never even thought that somebody would use it in a specific thread to gross out people or tell them that their pet spider is gross(I participate in a tread with a lot of creepy-crawly thingies so I maybe desensitized a bit). Maybe I'm not on the internet often enough(Or I'm just too used to people on FR being nice). But I just find the range of represented emotions a bit lacking.

@Voronwis I was thinking a bit more about it earlier and I do agree it could have a place but I do think that place is already partially filled by the surprise emote or a combination of them. It might be a bit silly to think that it would purely be abused but knowing the FR communities fascination with one emote/one word posts, I imagine it would just be posted with little to no context often. Again though, people already seem to go out of their way sometimes to be rude, emoji or no. Heck, I remember around when they were released I went to check GD or saw a screenshot or something of either a 'creepy' pet thread or just one of the few bug threads with several instances of stuff like: [emoji=torch size=1][emoji=spider size=1] Or they pop up on occasion in non-specific threads that get on the topic anyway. It could be made to work I think though, perhaps by tweeking it slightly like the nauseous idea you had. Maybe something that's not exactly 'a dragon about to heave' but like a uh... dread lines? Those weird anime lines that go down characters faces when they're uncomfortable or w/e This: [img]https://i.stack.imgur.com/rhGn2.jpg[/img] I feel like something like that would be more applicable to more situations? Although, I'm not sure if that would be different enough from shocked tbf. [emoji=guardian scared size=2] Grossed Out just feels really specific and comes up more as a negative reaction. Angry is a negative reaction, true but having them only encourages people to use them. So seeing people post Gross out emotes at dream dragons, pets, situations, etc (even as goofy haha jokes) seems likely. Come to think of it I rarely even see Angry used, although I guess it's necessary. It's a lot more broad and vague though too so... /shrug. Idk really. It could work and I can see a few situations that wouldn't be bad for it so basically Neutral support, ha.
