-Are there any specific line-breaking terts I need to keep in mind to design around to avoid clipping?

I'd prefer accents to skins - highlighting and setting off the existing dragon colors.
I'm not sure just how much clipping wraith and fans would cause, but these are the two dragons as I currently envision them:
