If it’s okay I’d like for her to be able to create some illusions, as she would definitely follow the trickster trope of the Shadow flight. I was imagining that the beastclans in the nearby area may have created some legends about her, as she is playful and would use her illusions on those who enter the brambles/forests of the Wood. Her name is Kiara (kee-ar-uh), but in some legends she is referred to as Ryma (ree-ma). Hopefully that all sounds okay, and I’ll get started on an intro post as soon as she’s approved! Be warned though, I may be slow to respond the next few days, but I should have lots more time after that! :D Edit: Also, PS, I’m subbed to the thread :)

Vida - Shattered Plains Skyward

Following the sound of their target, it didn't take long for Vida to spot the snake like creature down below. With light blue feathers that stood out in the darkness down below. He had never seen anything like it, yet they seemed so familiar. Scales similar to his own, but quite a bit larger. Once he saw its dilated eyes looking upwards towards him, a pit formed in his stomach. But surprisingly it did not launch itself at him... Prehapes despite appearances it couldn't fly?

No use in sticking around to figure out, just seeing such a massive beast from here was more than enough of a reason to get back to Arlo and quickly pack up their camp. With a spin, he made a sharp turn mid air and began to try and pick up some speed. This thing was to close for comfort.

Arlo - Plains Campsite

While Arlo knew his younger brother was more than capable than taking care of himself, his absence still proved worrisome. The pair had lost their family not far into adulthood, and only had each other in this world. Neither had any clue where Vida truly came from, or what he even was. But when it came to family, things like this did not really matter. Besides there were so many varieties of beast races, one day the duo would have to come across someone like Vida.

Not long into their clouded thoughts did something occur to the raptorik. "He really took that scrap of paper with him." Scoffing, he continued to turn the rabbit carcass over the crackling fire. His brother always found the weirdest objects to obsesse over. One of the very reasons they decided to become collectors of odd artifacts.

Russell/Shattered plains/Vida

The second “Tessarin” started flying away, Russell made a half angry, half confused hiss. Her expression was all confusion, compared to the hiss she just made. Did she not hear her? Or was it a different dragon? No it couldn’t be, but maybe they were? Or Tessarin might be under disguise. She loved the idea that anyone can conceal their appearance with a well planned disguise.

“Wait! It’s me! Russell! Don’t you remember?” The Auraboa called out, slithering about on the ground after the dragon. When the dragon picked up pace however, she had no choice but to spread out her wings and fly.

Her wings were a beautiful cornflower blue, with a few specks of orange and yellow that she knew the hatchlings of the Aeries loved. They haven’t been moved in who knows how long she slept for, but she wasn’t going to let herself be left alone. Although the first few seconds of being airborne was wobbly and her wings struggled to remember how to fly, she was able to regain some rhythm into her, trailing her target from a distance.

She was going to find home no matter what.

Jagged Cliffs: Dusk,
an Unwelcomed Encounter.

Hours had passed since Seiche’s training started; her flapping wings were still struggling to allow her to leave the water. It’s not like they were too heavy for them, as Thavis was about the same weight as she was and could fly. It was certain that the lack of practice was causing such difficulties, but that wasn’t the only thing on her mind. Wellian is unable to go on land whatsoever; he wouldn’t be able to survive as he was not able to breathe in oxygen the same way Seiche or Thavis could.

A quiet hum startled the Undertide; another Maren was approaching the trio. The beautiful bioluminescence of the tail instantly draws the little leviathan’s attention towards it. Wellian didn’t have much bioluminescence, as he was born to be camouflaged in the waters to avoid startling prey or even the larger predatory sharks that exist out in the open sea. This Maren wasn’t from the open sea; however, she was coming from inland.

The Maren raised an eyebrow, her gaze shifting from the strange leviathan to the other Maren and the hovering Harpy. "A strange trio," she first said to herself, only Seiche being able to pick up the words as the dusk winds started to pick them up. "Forgive my inquiry, but why is it that you’re making so much noise at this time?” The Maren asked, her voice tinged with curiosity and a hint of suspicion. “It is known that it’s not safe by the cliffs once night falls.”

“What is your name?” Asked Wellian as he was being approached by his illuminated counterpart.

“My question was unanswered,” she stated; her tone of voice didn’t change. “You’re not from here, are you? If that’s the case, you must return to a safer location before they come.”

Fear had overcome the Harpy above them after hearing what the Maren had to say. The group shared glances at one another, yet Wellian pressed on.

“What do you mean, they?” He sounded irritated at the slight fear-mongering coming from the stranger. “Our presence here is none of your concern. If there is something out here, then why are you roaming these waters so close to nightfall?”

There was a pause. A long, drawn-out pause as rocks started crumbling from the cliffs above.

Rumbling, the air hung heavy with an anticipatory silence. Fear—that's all that Thavis could feel as he quickly escaped into the dark sky as to flee from the impending doom. Seiche couldn’t blame him for his reaction; he would be a sitting duck out here in the waters. The sound of the rocks crumbling into the abyss below reverberated through the rugged landscape, vibrating through the very stones beneath. A colossal figure materialized, emerging from the shadows like a behemoth of stone.

A Rock Golem.

Vida | Skyward Plains

Using the night breeze to push himself forward, a pit seemed to form in Vida's stomach as they suddenly heard the sound of gargantuan wings picking up air behind him.

You've got to be joking!

Glancing over their shoulder they spotted the very thing they were trying to effortlessly escape from soring the night air just mer feet behind him. How could a beast that massive be airborne? It was no matter now, and he refused to lead that thing back to camp. With another sharp twirl in the sky, Vida sent himself upward closer toward the stars and zipped about a yard above the creature.

"Hey dung for brains! Awful slow aren't you?" He yelled down below, hoping to get its attention and lead it in the opposite direction. Towards the jagged cliffside just by the ocean. There he would try and loose it for good.

Russell/Skyward plains The auraboa hovered in the air when the dragon stopped flying, and shouted words at her. It was true, Auraboas were MASSIVE, and it was a miracle how they could fly. Then again… that could apply to so many other dragons. Russell was too confused to even be angry at the dragon when they insulted her. Was this really not Tessarin? Or did she still fail to recognize her? There were too many whys and not enough answers. “Do you… not remember me?” She asked the dragon. “It’s me, Russell! I helped take care of your hatchlings! I helped out with taking care of the great tree in our home! I helped you and the eyes of protection with so much…” “Do you not remember me?” She repeated, hoping for an answer. OOC: I loved that image so much I saved it hope you don't mind lmao also sorry for the couple day skip Christmas crazy is kicking my butt rn lowkey

For a brief second, Vida thought they heard what sounded like words of another vague yet oddly familiar language coming from the snake beast's mouth. But they had no other choice but to shake it off. They slowed their pacing as they headed towards the sea side, what little sliver of glimmering water they could see from here in the night. Luckily it was clear, not a cloud in sight. They once again twirled about in the sky, hoping this thing would follow.

Prehapes... With the crossboy at their side, Vida aimed not so close to the beast but just close enough to cause alarm. Firing a shot that raced through the air next to them. This was a surefire way of getting their attention!

Jagged Cliffs: The Golem.

Run. Run… RUN!!!

“WE NEED TO SWIM!” Seiche screeched at the appearance of the Rock Golem. They were terrified that a creature that big could even exist above sea level! Her eyes were wide as she dove underwater with the two Maren, but what they didn’t expect was the golem to snatch them up by the tail. Seiche winced in agony as the creature pulled them out of the water and into the air, causing the dragon to feel dizzy from the new height.

“Seiche!!!” Wellian shouted from beneath the water, extending his arms toward his child, only to be halted by another Maren. “That’s my child! You cannot stop me!” He pulled from her grasp and snatched the wax-coated bow from his back that Thavis had made for him as a gift. With full concentration, the Maren readied a shiny arrow made from ocean fossils below. The wax on the bowstring kept it dry, making the draw smooth. As the Maren aimed, the moonlight reflected off the wax, leaving a bright trail.

It bounced off the golem above.

The creature remained undisturbed; Wellian felt unsure about what to do in this situation. He withdrew under the water to regroup with the other Maren, who observed from a safe distance. Catching the behemoth's attention seemed impossible with its unwavering focus on Seiche. Fear. Nothing could beat the overwhelming feeling of fear and denial that overcame Wellian with his sights on his only child.

Curiously, the Rock Golem pondered the nature of the creature it held—a peculiar, wiggly leviathan. It had been quite some time since the golem last encountered such a being. Was it a dragon? It couldn't be, or could it? The Rock Golem's duty was to safeguard the land as tasked by the Earthshaker. When was the last time it saw the Earthshaker or any other dragon? It did not know.

The screeches from the leviathan didn’t bother the golem one bit, but it had to get answers from this dragon. “Where… is the rest?” The Rock Golem stumbled clumsily over its words. Draconian. The leviathan's expression, a mix of confusion and dread, caught its attention. Did this dragon not understand the native tongue? Maintaining a steady hold on the leviathan, the golem realized it was only intensifying the creature's fear. Understanding that answers wouldn't come this way, it gently returned the leviathan to the water.
