Amethyst
Amethyst felt she'd had a pretty good few days. She'd woke up, attacked Monkey, scared him half to death, and then gotten tackled. He'd chased her into the lake where they wrestled underwater, bubbles of laughter rising through the water as they summersaulted in the waves.
"Good morning, you two," their father had called from the shore. Amethyst had popped her head above the water and shouted a greeting.
"Don't you two know where we're going today?" He'd asked. Monkey looked confused for a minute, and then Amethyst remembered. They were going to Possibility today for the first time! Amethyst had been wanting to go for forever. She flew out of the water and landed, dripping, her necklace thumping against her chest. They dried off in the sun for a while, letting her wings swirl with gold and indigo. Then she'd put on her best silk scarf, a deep crimson that felt like clouds against her scales, and they left, heading for Possibility, literally.
Monkey
Theyd flown for a few days, over the ocean and the rainforest. They'd made camp right on the edge of the rainforest, where dragons were used to seeing multi colored scales. They'd woken bright and early the next day, and flown over the swamps and the desert. Eventually, they saw a bustling city up ahead, surrounded by palms and rivers, set on a series of platforms. They landed slightly outside of the city.
"Be aware, you guys," their dad said before they went in. "Youre hybrids, so dragons might give you some looks. Don't worry about it," he said, smiling. "I'm gonna go buy some things. We'll probably stay here a few days. Explore as much as you guys want. Here's some treasure," he said, handing Amethyst a small pouch, jangling with jewels to pay for food and other things. "Probably meet back here around nightfall? I'll see you," he said before taking off.
Apatura
Apatura fell out of her hammock as the wind shook the webs. She got up, grumbling to herself. She looked outside at the pouring rain. A loud snore came from behind her and she turned to find her mate still fast asleep. She got back in her hammock and tried to fall asleep again, but the howls of the wind and crackling of the lightning made it impossible. No matter, she should probably get up anyway. She put on her scarf and earrings hurriedly, wanting to get out of the shaking webs. She looked out at the storm again. It seemed to be going across the ocean. She scoffed at the legend of the distant kingdoms, but if there was anyone out there... well, they were in for a rough time.
