TOPIC | Those Who Are Hidden (Open RP)
( Shadarsia and Umbra are from Shadow, Touka is from plague. Sorry for the late post )

Two guardian dragons sat together in the snow, silent and staring into the horizon. They were both armored and one of them wielded a ravenskull broadsword and a black wolf cape. The other one just possessed armor and bandages on them. They looked very similar, related even. The one with the broadsword was named Shadarsia and the other was named Umbra, who was Shadarsia's daughter. The two looked around until Umbra spoke up.
"Do you see anything yet, mother?" she asked.
Shadarsia shook her head. "Not yet."
Umbra sighed. "I don't see anything either. This isn't fun, just watching things. I want to be like you, strong and brave and...!"
Shadarsia looked down. You want to be like me? she thought to herself. She didn't want Umbra to be like her. Shadarsia was a traitor to her clan for joining the No-Seers with her daughter after the invasion in the Tangled Wood and a bunch of other regions, even if she was plotting against them.
I only did it to keep what I have left alive. she thought. I lost my son, I lost my friend, I lost my charge, I lost my clan.

Umbra tilted her head. "Mother? Are you alright?"
Shadarsia huffed and looked away. "I'm fine." she said. "I'm just... thinking about that again."
Umbra slowly walked over and tried to look at her mother's face. It was partially hidden under the cape. "What exactly are you thinking about?" she asked.
"I'm thinking about my son, your brother. I'm thinking about my clan and my familiar- no, my CHARGE, and Touka."
"Touka's a SEER, mother. We didn't join this group for nothing!" Umbra said. "I get you and Touka used to be really close, but if you care about her so much, why did you join?"
"Because I was AFRAID, Umbra." Shadarsia shouted, turning towards her daughter. "I was AFRAID and I was a COWARD. How could you like the group who tore away EVERYTHING from you? ..No, that's not JUST it. I wanted to keep what I had left safe. If I didn't make that choice, we'd both either be killed or enslaved. Or, one of us would be. Take your pick."

Geez, at least they were alone, sort of.

Umbra was just silent. She didn't know what to say. The last thing she would think of her mother as was afraid.
"Just don't tell anybody about it." Shadarsia growled. "If you tell anybody that I'm against the No-Seers, you'll get us both in trouble."
"I'm sorry." Umbra sighed. "I just... I just thought that if you wanted to be a part of this group, I should, too! I really wanted to believe you were happy, so I tried to be like you, always proud and confident. But if you really aren't, then..."

Meanwhile, Touka was just looking around the icefield silently, the snow partly covering her scales. She hated the cold and she was shivering. How could any dragon manage to live here, even with fur? Touka just didn't understand, but that wasn't important right now. What was important was that she just needed to be able to survive.

@LostDreamer A snarl was caught in the throat of the bogsneak, the hound whistling and low. After the dragon sized itself up, it quickly settled into a non-hostile state, however still had red flags blaring just in case this dragon wished them harm or enslavement. The dragon let a series of clicks and whistles, unsure on how they should answer the dragon. They were unsure if the fae before them knew ASL, and if they did, hurrah, thank the deities! The dragon spelled out a greeting, introducing themself in finger-spelling as Surya. After introducing themself, the dragon gave a short greeting to Arc. It seems too have trouble figuring out if you are prey, if you are a predator or if you are a trapper, as they call the ones pulling slaves by their collars. The mouth on the right side of its belly flicked out a split, serpentine tongue, as if tasting the air for prey. The glittering beast placed the copper-coil creeper back onto the ground, the equally shiny, but utterly worthless, familiar ticking, blowing steam and fixing its camera lens to focusing as it decides to. Arc:

She watched as the dragon moved around, watching ther posture turn to something a little less threatening than she was expecting. Arc wasn't expecting the dragon to be so.... Nature themed? It actually made her a little excited when she saw the branch things on their body..... But she was still anxious.

Her eyes scanned her body quickly, moving her gaze to their hands before they saw her staring at the mouth on their neck. She scrunched her face in confusion before she realized what they were actually doing. They were telling her their name! Luckily for them both, she had learned the basics of ASL, though Arc's knowledge of it was a little blurry. She made out that they were spelling Surya..... At least she hoped.

Arc placed he bow and quiver to the side, watching as her familiar fluttered over to it and sat down patiently. " Your name is... Surya? Right? It that how you pronounce it?" Her body seemed to shake a little more as she stepped a little closer, her breath seemed to be stuck in her throat as she tried to think of anything to say, silently hoping that the dragon wouldn't attack her just yet. "It's very nice to meet you considering the circumstances our world is under..... Do you mind if I stay just for a little while so we could talk? If it alright with you... I have food if your hungry.." How could she be this bad at speaking?

@LostDreamer The dragon was relieved the the fae before them knew ASL, even if it was just basic stuff. The copper-coil creeper sprang upwards a few inches at the startling appearance of another familiar, recoiling backwards in caution. It let sound a prerecorded cautionary hiss commonly used by buttersnakes of the rattler variety. The dragon nodded their head, indicating that Arc pronounced it correctly. The dragon let out a long, whistling sigh at your words regarding Sornieths turmoil. It truly is a tragedy. After a few moments, the dragon lowered their paws and patted a nearby pile of miscellaneous parts, feathers, dead shrubbery and the occasional pelt. The dragon scooted back about a foot at the dragons approach, preferring to keep distance for their own safety and for yous too. It's hard to know who to trust anymore, Surya left their clan due to this mistrust when everything started falling apart in the fire domain. The bogsneak is more Plague Affiliated as of the moment, having been gifted their familiar by an old germ friend before they were exalted.

"I don't exactly believe you...." Pick paused "But we should focus at the matter at hand" He stalked forth faster, glaring through the birdskull that decorated his head at the black shapes, ready to attack if it was a dragon. or a seer

Jade sighed as she lugged through the snow, the cold biting her to the bone. The camp was distantly in sight, and her dark scales and green cloak and gorget made her unmistakable against the stark white snow. Suddenly the world spun around her, and her lefs gave way, and she collasped into the snow and passed out from the cold

Serania smiled back at the nocturne, but it faded into her biting her lip and flinching as a guard raked his claws down her side, but not hard enough to draw blood. She sighed as she was chained to her spot, and started smashing the ice, shivering as bits of flew into the fur of her underbelly, melting in the depths of it and quickly drenching it and freezing it

Kuma:

He just a a small glare at the pearlcatcher, it was not his business but that didn't matyer right now. The cold pricked at his scales, covering his body in a blanketed of ruthless fridged temperatures. His claws raked gently across the ground with each step, leaving small lines behind. He tried to repress the shivers that shook him the best he could, but you could tell the temperature was affecting him greatly.

He watched as the spiral uncovered themselves a little more, showing their entire head and the runes that glowed against their bright scales. He couldn't tell if they were a treat or not, not that it really mattered to him, but he relaxed his stance a little at the non- hostile posture theu seemed to , but he kept a close eye on Pick to see if he was going to attack or not.

Arc:
@Scarborough
Arc gave a bright smile to the dragon before making her way to the pile of pelts, feathers and dried brush. She walked with a small skip in her step as she relaxed her posture, happiness clearly visible in her eyes at the nice gesture. She gave her thanks to Surya, giving a little wink and giggle as she made a little joke.
" Thank you berry much!"
As coincidentally, she had pulled out a little pouch filled with a variety of berries, and offered it to the dragon to see if they wanted any.
" Im sorry if i am intruding on your time, feel free to ask me to leave at any time if your uncomfortable with my presence. I would understand, most say im a nuisance......." She whispered the last part softly in hope that they didn't hear her.

Her familiar, a brown spotted mith, watched closely at the hissing golden creature near them. Offering a friendly wave and a little hum to ease their defensive actions.

@LostDreamer (sorry for calling arc a fae, i assumed that they were since you described them as small!) The copper-coil creeper scuttled up towards its companion, resting pretty much just beside the dragon, however on the side of the dragon that didn't have a mouth on its belly. Don't take it too personally, its this way to any non-mechanical creature, practically. The Bogsneak raised their paws once more, waiting until their words would be caught in sight. They'd word out what basically amounted to telling the fae that even though their spot isn't friendly to any dragons, that they would allow you to stay as long as you liked. They nodded at the offer of a few berries, hasn't had much to eat lately. The famines are getting worse due to the killings and enslavement of seers. They can tell that Arc is good, has a good heart. Good intentions. The dragon is able to devour both plants and meat, however the vegetation in the area is toxic to dragons, therefore they are mainly carnivorous. Won't turn down a treat though, it's how it is. All mouths lead to the same stomach, therefore all are viable openings to transport food. It just looks really gross seeing them stick food in a mouth thats not supposed to be there, is all.

Arc:

It was silent for a moment as she watched closely at the way Surya's hands moved, translating it to a general idea. She gave a big grin at the fact that she was able stay here for a while, and that she wasn't unwelcome. Hospitality was a rare things now a days, even at inns, so she was glad. All the rumours that were told were proving to be wrong, Surya was very nice as far as she could tell, she was quite unlike her intimidating appearance.

Arc grabbed a few of the berries as well and whistled to her mith. When the familiar lifted their head, they gave a hum of excitement and swiftly flew over, carrying the biw and quiver with them. Arc gave the berries to mith, watching as they snuggled close to her before happily munching on the offered food.

" Thank you for your hospitality, I appreciate it. There were a few dragons a couple miles back that ooked like no- seers, i didn't really know if they were but I don't wanna risk it, and thats what lead me here. Have you ever had an encounter with a no-seer? I have only ever seen one face to face, he was quite mad when i got away from him, he yelled pretty loud..... That's too personal to ask isn't it? Im so sorry!! Don't feeo the need to answer!"

Her face grew red with embarrassment, she hadn't really had much of anyone to talk to so her social skills were a bit rusty. Arc flopped onto her back and grabbed her familiar, snuggling her head into it's stomach and giggling when she felt them sqyirm and squel at her actions.
