"Yes, he'll want to eat these soon," Kyle agreed.

"I wouldn't be in a cage. I'm not a criminal," Jet spat.

Livius sighed, but didn't go after him. Aaron needed to learn to share, and this seemed like a good time to learn.

"I guess we’ll check with Tate first," Willis said.

"I was a baby," Liam told him.

Aaron ran back to his own room. He didn’t have a tantrum, though. He just hid under the bed with the teddies he’d brought with him.

Kyle nodded and followed Willis.

"A baby criminal," Jet grumbled.

Stephen eventually went to get Aaron so they could eat, since he didn't want to start without everyone there. The first place he checked was the elf's room. "Where are you?"

Willis knocked on the healer’s door. Just Tate was in there, lay down but reading a book.

"Babies can’t commit crimes," Liam said.

Aaron kept quiet, or tried to. His stifled sobs were still pretty audible.

Kyle offered him a croissant.

"Maybe your parents were criminals. Maybe its a family trait," Jet said.

"Aaron, come out. We're hungry," Stephen complained.

"Oh. Thanks," Tate said, sitting up to take it. "So you went to the bakery, eh?"

"I don't have any," Liam said.

"You're going to shout at me, like Livius," Aaron cried.

Kyle nodded. "I'm trying to make friends with Blank."

"You did, you're just an orphan," Jet dismissed.

"If you come out I won't shout," Stephen promised.

"Aren’t you friends already?" Tate asked.

"I don’t remember any," Liam insisted. "And even if I did have some - which I don’t - that doesn’t mean I should’ve been punished too."

Aaron reluctantly crawled out, but he shrunk away from Stephen like he was afraid.

"No, I don't think he likes me," Kyle said.

"You must have been the worst baby," Jet decided.

Stephen noticed his fear, but he had no patience for it. "Come on, time to eat." He went closer to try to grab Aaron, worried the boy would hide again.

"I’m sure he does," Tate assured. "You’re just strange."

"How would we know?" Liam said smugly.

Aaron flinched, but didn’t stop him or fight back. He just chewed the inside of his cheek and kept hold of his dragon teddy.
