Springtime was always an exciting season to Interstellar, and not only for warmer weather and clear sunny days but for the yearly celebration of Lux Est Memoriam. It was bittersweet for the dragons on Interstellar and endless amounts of fun for outsiders. Dragons from all flights were invited so all dragons attended, from Faes to Imperials, Scholars to knights and Light fligts to Shadow Flights all rejoiced over the course of three days at the arcane clan. Performers occupied a stage where dragons could throw treasure to the ones they enjoyed the most. Saranus had never had the pleasure of knowing the famous clan leader who the celebration was for but he could feel the love in the dragons as they drank and sang along off key to ballads and tavern songs.

Saranus was in charge of greeting newcomers in search of alliances to Interstellar, although he wished to be apart of the dragons drinking and clinking mugs together. He resided in the meeting tent, where a large wooden rectangular table remain set in the center. Maps lay stretched across the surface while pawns representing allies and beastclans sit idle on top of the parchment. He had asked a clan adviser to escort important dragons to the tent, having his own affairs to attend to while he awaited their arrival.

Kimita was not flattered by the request, she enjoyed the celebration in her own quiet way. She didn't like the rowdy aspect of it, although the energy of the dragons attending was beautiful. The skydancer liked the performers who read poetry and acted out plays which varied from Drama to comedy. Alas it wasn't her time to enjoy such things, instead she walked around the grounds of Interstellar, carrying a note from Saranus in her pocket as she looked at the many dragons who all seemed to blend into a sea of hide, wings and apparel. Only the occasional dragons stuck out to her, but then they would slip back into the loud and bustling crowd from which they had emerged.

Two dragons caught her attention, the looked confused by the festivities and remained close to one another. One wore a sapphire mage hat, a pearlcatcher with teal eyes of the stormcatcher. The second had runes which appeared to be seared into her hide by lightning, also with eyes of the stormcatcher. Kimita moved forward to the dragons, unable to prevent getting nudged and shoved with the dragons who weren't paying attention.

"Excuse me!" She yelled over the music and voices, trying to catch the dragons attention as she wove her way through the mass of bodies.

"Pardon," She then paused as she adjusted her robes. "May I inquire upon your business?" She questioned in a slow and steadily paced voice, pronouncing each word carefully as she stood before the two dragons.

((Got it. Lets get this show on the road.))

The siblings walked side by side through the moved through the crowd of dragons, the guardian towering over the smaller pearlcatcher like a shield, despite him being much older. This fact didn't bother him much, in fact, in came in handy during this particular event, as he likely would've been lost in the crowd without her.

The pearlcatcher's ears twitched as he picked up the call that was almost drowned out by the noise of the crowd. He tapped the guardian's leg in signal for her to stop as he turned towards the skydancer that addressed them.

"Mingling." he said simply, "That is what you do at gatherings such as this, is it not?"

((sorry for the delay, life has been hectic these past few days ))

Kimita should have expected such a response, although she couldn't help but narrow her eyes. "As you should be, however I'm a clan adviser to Interstellar and I have instructions from the clan leader." She then paused to take the folded note from her robes pocket. The skydancer handed it to the pearlcatcher, letting up a small huff as she looked at the broken seal of the letter.

"Saranus has told me to look for any dragons who wish to make an alliance." She commented as she watched the dragons sharp eyes scan over the words of the letter. "If you agree to an alliance, you will meet the clan leaders, Saranus and Aralicien." She spat out the Ridgeback's name as one would poison. Once the other was finished reading over the short note she took it back, folding it neatly once again before tucking it back into her pocket.

Kimita let out a sigh moving out of the way of a few drunken dragons. "Interstellar is a well-rounded clan which could be a beneficial ally to your clan," She fiddled with the rings on her fingers, clearly uninterested in the task she was assigned. "You may meet the clan leaders first before you make a decision, they could provide more information to you than I can."

He took the note, opened it and scanned the words written inside as the skydancer explained. His guardian companion lowered her head and read the note over his shoulder. "Sounds promising." He said, folding the note back up and handing over to the skydancer. "But I would like to meet with your leaders before I make any calls, if thats alright."

He was lucky he had the power to create such alliances, or he would've had to turn down the stranger's offer.

Kimita gave a nod as she turned and motioned for the other dragons to follow behind her. She led the two strangers through the crowd as best she could, many dragons bumping into them accidentally. The skydancer slowed as they approached a large tent with a pointed top, large enough for imperials and guardians.

She stepped through the entrance as she let out a sigh, moving over so the two could also come inside. The ridgeback looked up from a large record book, a claw placed on the page so he wouldn't lose his place. "Kimita," He smiled as he stood and shut the book, dust sputtering out from the pages. "Visitors, You should have given me notice so I could have cleaned up a bit." The skydancer rolled her eyes as she took a seat, allowing Saranus to handle the remainder of the business.

"Pleasure to meet you, I'm Saranus, newly elected Leader of Interstellar." He dipped his head as a candle illuminated a large scar that ran over his right eye. "The other leader Aralicien is enjoying the festivities so you'll have to pardon her absence." He then moved around the table to stand before the two dragons. "Where are you two from?" He questioned as he motioned for the two to sit, cushioned chairs placed for other dragons to sit while discussing business.

((You dont need to ping me unless you want to, as I am also subbed.))

The prarlcatcher took the hint and sat down in one of the cushioned chairs, slightly surprised at how soft it was. The guardian was slightly more hesitant, until her brother discreetly gestured for her to take a seat in the chair adjacent.

"My name is Samuel." The pearlcatcher replied before gestureing to his companion. "And this is my sister, Lucida." The guardian dipped her head slightly in greeting. "We hail from a small clan in the northern reaches of the Shifting Expance. Or, at least, small compared to yours." He paused for a moment, trying to get his thoughts in order before he contiuned. He decided that small talk would serve him well here, as well give him a little more info that may come in handy.

"This is quite the celebration you have going. Though, I dont think I caught why you would host a gathering of such grandeur, if you dont meind ke asking." Samuel said.

(( Alright I didn't realize you had been subbed, I'll keep that in mind from now on though uvu ))

Saranus nodded as he listened, keeping his eyes on the pearlcatcher who he now knew as Samuel. They seemed friendly enough, although his years traveling and negotiating left him cautious of newcomers despite his friendly exterior.

"Pleasure is mine," He dipped his head down to show respect to his guests. "You flatter Interstellar, I haven't been here too long myself, but I've heard of what this clan used to be when it was settled in the Ashfall Waste. It sounds like it was beautiful and I hope to restore Interstellar to it's original and proper state." Saranus couldn't help but chuckle as he heard himself sounding so formal, it was a bit unlike his character. However he was no longer speaking for himself, but all of Interstellar.

The ridgeback glanced to the flickering candle, wondering if it had enough of the wick left to continue to burn. "Kimita could you please hand me another candle from the drawer beside you," He watched as the skydancer rolled her eyes and pulled the compartment open, her yellow eyes narrow as she took a candle and brought it to the clan leader, her expression showing her full disgust with him. "Thank you." The phrase lacked all meaning as Saranus struck a match and lit the candle, returning his attention to the two dragons before him. "I wasn't graced with the ability of breathing fire sadly, I can't even produce a single spark." He chuckled as he blew the dimming candle out and slipped it from the holder to set the newly lit one inside.

"You haven't heard of it? Well I must say I'm surprised. This celebration is known as Lux Est Memoriam, or The Memory of Light if you have trouble pronouncing it. Each year for three days, dragons of Interstellar as well as travelers all celebrate the memory of the previous clan leader and founder Ophala." He cleared his throat as he glanced to the new flame that illuminated the three of them, watching how the fire danced and ate away at the wick. "She was a wonderful dragon from what I've heard, and an even better leader. Rather than mourn the loss of her we celebrate and keep the memory of her positive. On the third day a paper lantern is lit for every dragon present and sent away into the sky. It's beautiful to watch and I recommend it if you plan on staying for that long." Saranus smiled as he reached into a drawer at the side of the table, pulling out a yellowed and old parchment as well as a quill and ink cartridge.

"Interstellar can be a very useful ally to you, we're strong in many ways and never fail to aid those who have aided us." He paused as he slid the parchment across the table to the pearlcatcher, clan names were written beneath a large paragraph in neat cursive. "This is what we have all of our clan allies sign, long story short it confirms out alliance and states that if you or any dragon performs treacherous acts against Interstellar than the alliance will be void and no longer applicable. We will need to meet formally and discuss the issues before continuing the alliance or terminating it entirely. It goes either way really." Saranus slid the ink and quill to the pearlcatcher and guardian and sighed. "Take all the time you need to decide."

Samuel picked the paper up, reading the names that were already written down, his sister leaning down and reading it over his shoulder. One name in particular caught her eye. She reached over her brother's shoulder and pointed to it over his shoulder."isn't that where aiea is?" She asked aloud.

Samuel, who had been more foucused on the names at the bottom of the list, moved his gaze to the one Lucida indicated and his eyes widened. It was indeed. He looked up at the ridgeback who sat across from them. "You are allies with Plague-Fang?" He asked, his interest renewed.

Saranus paused at the question, not really having expected it. He furrowed his brow as he wet his lips, taking a moment to find the answer. "Plague-Fang has been an ally to Interstellar for a long time, since it really began to grow as a fire clan. They were actually our first trusted and truly faithful allies," He cleared his throat as he glanced down at the dragons signature before returning his gaze to Samuel. "Why do you ask? Do you have business with them?"

The ridgeback chose his words carefully, unsure of the others sudden and immense interest in the plague clan. Saranus kept his eyes on the two, making a mental note of the name which spurred the conversation. Aiea? The name wasn't familiar to him. Perhaps it was a close friend or someone they had business with. Business could go a number of ways, it could be positive like seeking an alliance or dangerous like revenge.

"Our sister." Samuel said, his tone bareing a hint of sadness in his voice if you looked hard enough. "Her older, my twin. Aiea is her name, and she is among the ranks of plague-fangs warriors. And I believe Seltur stayed there for a time." He glanced over at lucida, who nodded in conformation to this fact before he turned back towards Saranus.

"This alone is reason to solidify an alliance, my friend." He added, not bothering with the quill the ridgeback had offered them, and simply pointing to a empty space at the bottom of the list of names. "I sign here, correct?"
