"Good luck Cryn." Lemi purred, a soft smile playing on her features as her friend stepped forward with Korsan. She noticed him kind of pause for a moment before casting an illusion that altered their position by a few inches. At least that could help from Barlei landing a direct hit.

"Alright ya ready kid?" Cryn growled playfully at Korsan, her eyes locked on their opponent. She figured a distance attack would be best first to test the waters without putting the two of them in direct danger. The rockruff lowered her body as she tensed her body. Energy began to form into rocks as they floated in the air.

ROCK SLIDE

Lemi watched the battle take place from where she sat next to Mernaa and Javaria. Though her expression remained as still and cold as her type she was actually very interested, her ears perking as Cryn attacked.

Barlei remained stationary as the move hit him. All things considered, it wasn't a bad attempt. The rocks were a good size and landed in his general area. He was mostly certain that his vision was a bit off, but he that wasn't anything particularly new. He was getting on in years after all.

'Let's see how them kids can take a hit.' Thought the druddigon as he slammed his claws into the ground.

Arcs of shadow trailed from his claw tips as they moved through the air which the impact caused a shock wave to radiate across the floor.

Barlei quirked an eye ridge as the illusions rippled but did not shatter. Not too shabby for a Zorua really. Most illusions crumbled after they took damage. The rock ruff pup on the other hand barely even flinched. "Good. Good Young'uns. Let's see how long y'all can-" He drawled when he was interrupted by a wooden stick to the his foot. More specifically, a wooden stick through his foot.

'Dang, that's definitely gon' smart later.'

Cryn held her own against the night slash attack. Though it did some damage she felt as if she could tough through it. Her defense was getting stronger. She could feel it. And she was going to take advantage of it. With the stick now through Barlei's foot she now had an opening. She lowered her head, a thick purple liquid starting to pool in her maw and drip from her lips.

Within a moment, she ran forward, the poison now seeping from her mouth as she held it open.

TOXIC

She jumped in front of Barlei, now spatting the poison spraying all over the dragon pokemon. That would be sure to weaken him as she and Korsan continued to chip away.

Korsan had to hold back a shout of excitement when the stick stopped the dragon type. He was on a roll and that was awesome. He was really worried for a minute when he got hit. If his illusions failed then things would've gone bad really really fast. Still, he had to cringe when his reasonably capable partner spat poison everywhere. He got badly poisoned once and it totally sucked. Royally sucked.

Still, he was getting really tired. had plenty of energy left. The moment Cryn backed off he lunged at the dragon type with FURY SWIPES.

Barlei's scales felt like steel. They were so much harder than the rocks he's practiced on. But, he felt as though he was getting somewhere and doing some damage.

He had decided to back out after the fourth blow. Better to let his partner share some of the glory after all.

Cryn took a quick breath as Korsan jumped forward with his fury swipes attack. Four times was not bad. The kid seemed to be getting a bit tiered though. Time for her to take over. The older dog pokemon had more stamina to be fair. A competitive grin played on Cryns lips as she charged forward. Time to bring this to an end. Fire started to form in her mouth before focusing on her teeth.

Fire Fang!

The rockruff bit down, her teeth connecting with the dragons arm. Barlei couldn't help but release a snarl at this. He shook the smaller pokemon off, holding out a hand before either of the other two could attack again. "End of assessment. You will get your final score after your partners take their part." he spoke, motioning with his head to the noivern who had been watching the entire time.

Javaria nodded, the noivern looking over to Lemi and Mernaa. "Are you two ready?" they asked.

Mernaa took a few moments to check that Korsan was alright from his ordeal before turning to the Noivern. "Yes." She answered "As ready as I will ever be I suppose."

She ordinarily would have tried to analyze her opponent to pick out weak spots, but given that she was up against a vastly superior opponent this might not be very effective. Still, she had a slight type advantage, so the tried and true method of striking with overwhelming force might be the best option.

As she turned to face her opponent, she heard her ward call from behind her. "Mernaa! The great and powerful Korsan has handled his test with valor and courage! His one and only assistant can definitely do the same!"
