Her mate, Rama, followed, slightly behind but never more than a wing's reach away. The pair continued until Rama brushed his mate's side with a wing, at which point both sat, taking their place. Rama surveyed his fellow canis, eyes glittering behind the pelt. These dragons were Like Him, and he felt confident in their combined strength. He would wait to see where the pack led. Rema, on the other hand, remained visibly ill at ease. She tore at the grass with a claw impatiently, and was not settled when her mate leaned on her to try and still her fidgeting. She might not be able to see, but she wasn't blind to the many scents of the attendants, nor could she ignore the general air of unease that lingered over the meeting. "Grreh," she growled into the quiet. "Why do we not just deal with this? There is only one."

@gearfeathers @DevilsCarnival @Tsukistar Geri and Freki slowly made their way towards the gathering, both feeling very tired after the long journey. Neither of them had ever visited these lands before thus Hochi, a wildclaw from their clan that was born in this region, had escorted the two. After arriving to the lush forests of the Viridian Labyrinth, Hochi wished the pair good luck and left to visit his old clan that lived in the area. They would meet up again later, since Hochi most likely would not be welcomed to join the meeting. After saying goodbye to their friend it did not take long until they reached the gathering place. The two tundras sat down in the tall grass, glad that they could get some rest. Geri stretched his sore legs, then laid down against Freki. He rested his head on his tail and tried to take in all the new scents around him. Ever since they had entered these lands his senses had been flooded with new impressions. New scents, new sounds, new sensations… it had been giving him a headache. Now his mind finally had time to process it all. He could feel the presence of the other tundras that were already present and relaxed, knowing it was safe to take it easy for a while. Freki however did not feel the same. She could not help but feel slightly on edge seeing all the unfamiliar dragons. She had not expected it to be so many others here, but then again she had grown up in a rather isolated area and thus not been in contact with others of her kind. She stayed close to Geri as she scanned the gathering grounds, trying to memorise the new faces. She noticed a lone female resting a bit further away and bowed her head in greeting. Another pair was sitting next to them, talking. Even from this distance Freki could feel the females uneasiness as she spoke up. "Why do we not just deal with this? There is only one." Freki really hoped that it would be that easy.

Yes, they could just "deal with it," as put, the only problem was, the Infected was much too close to the Carnival his pack resided by to even taken any form of action without involvement of the other dragons- and there were more of those dragons than his pack. "Fellow canis, I understand your worry." His voice was gruff, echoed by the metal helmet, "However, it is not that easy. If there is one, there could be more. That is where the problem lies. If there is more Infected, then they will surely come to the call of their leader, and judging from his size, I'd say it's him." Miah wasn't at ease herself, under her stomach was a small cub, Akira. She was their adoptive child until she was in season. Both of the Tundra stayed near each other, though Zechariah stood much taller than her, his tail lashing in agitation behind him. What to do, what to do.

Nalila took notice of the newcomers that were arriving, and watched them silently, a twinge of curiosity evident in her eyes. Two pairs - able to sense a bit of unease from either of them ; not that she was much better. Gazing up at Freki - and noting the bowed head, she offered the Canis a respectful nod in greeting - before hearing the female from the other pair speak up. For a moment - she could agree, did they really need so many of their own kind to fight one Infected?

But then she also considered the tales her old pack would tell, of their venomous fangs and claws like blades. Of how they could fight with the ferocity of a Canis tenfold, and would leave only bones in their wake. Sure - some of the tales were probably embellished, but then came the question of just how much of it was actually embellished? Hearing Zechariah mention the possibility of more Infected didn't help, and herself becoming uneasy, she decided to try and busy herself by tearing at the grass. She had never dealt with this before, and between the tales and the unease of her fellow kind, her anxieties rose.

Rema snorted, displeased. "The longer we wait, the worse it will be!" She growled again, beginning to rise to her feet, stopping only when the male beside her reached out and thumped her with a wing, growling quietly.

"Your concern is well understood," Rama spoke, watching his mate settle beside him grumblingly. "but I agree that waiting to let him gather his own, assuming there are more, may cause more harm in the long run. We cannot allow this infected to run unchecked."

Geri could feel the rising tension in the air, as well as the growing unease in Freki and raised his head to look over at his fellow kind with unseeing eyes.
“Let us all calm down, dearest canis brothers and sisters.” he beckoned in calming voice, hoping to ease the anxious feelings that had gathered around them. “There is no need for such impatience, now is there? Or course we intend to do something about this rogue Infected. That is why we are gathered here, to figure out the next move, is it not? Rushing in blindly without a plan would only make matters worse. This is not the time for rash actions, but for strategic planning. As you have said, we are not sure if the Infected is alone or not, nor do we have any idea of his current location, as far as I know.”

Freki looked at Geri in surprise. She had not expected to hear such words from her him, seeing as he often refrained from participating in discussions such as these. He sat up and shaked his fur free from grass before sitting down and continued to speak. “Let us talk about what we do know and decide where to go from there? I heard that we suspect him to be in season and that he might target females, is that correct?”

Nalila gazed at Geri as he spoke - and as she listened, she couldn't help but nod a bit. He was right. Taking in a deep breath, she stood up, and finally, after so long since she arrived here, she spoke up. "Correct... ... Are you thinking that maybe one of us draw him out?" She questioned, momentarily thinking back to a hunting trip she once participated in when she first joined her clan. Awhile she was still visibly uneasy - he sounded to be a voice of reason, as Zechariah was. But there was something she found soothing about the Canis. Perhaps it was his gentle calming voice, or his friendly demeanor - although she did admit he reminded her of the shaman who would tell her stories when she was a pup. A sweet old Canis, he was - and her thoughts wandered for a passing moment to wonder if he was still well and around.

Zechariah turned his head towards the conversation, ears pulled forward. He nodded to Geri in thanks for his understanding and support, before addressing all the canis in the clearing. "Friends, brothers, sisters, I know that this is scary, and I know it's coming down to a bad end, but I have been thinking." He sighed, gazing over to Nalila, "Yes. Perhaps, if one of the in-season, or at least, seemingly so, could provoke him out of wherever he is hiding, we'll get a better idea of what is happening. As I stated before, I don't know if there are more. I have only seen him wandering nearby, and it's bother enough now that Miah and I have a cub to look after." He looked over all of them, shifting about just a bit. Though not as noticeable, he was also ill at ease. "If anyone is willing to help, speak now. We can elaborate on a plan before actually going through with it, but it would mean him less hostility if we had a female approach, rather than another male."

The pair listened intently, mulling the idea over. It seemed risky, but also a better idea than running into the unknown blindly. Rama nodded slowly, trying to push down his unease when he spoke. "The idea has merit," he agreed, nodding towards Nalila. "A simple trap may be our best option, if we had-"
"I will go," Rema interrupted him, standing up and shaking her mane. "let us see for ourselves this infected." She shushed her mate's objection, then stepped forward. "I have no cubs to rear now, and what is one blind female to this male?" She gave a slightly exaggerated yawn, a gesture more teeth than tiredness, then turned to face where she could smell her fellow canis. "Unless someone else wants to volunteer?"

Miah looked towards the voice, her expression suggesting that Rema didn't have to do this. She didn't, there wasn't a requirement, however, Zechariah seemed more willing to listen to her. The large male considered this. Any female would be worth something to a male in season, but that's what they were counting on. They needed to get this Infected's attention, and see if it was only one, or many. If it was many, they would all have to band together.
"Any female will be of his interest, and judging from your scent, you're not in season. The only other problem I see, aside from this risk of sending one of our own to confront him, is that he might hold you prisoner until you are in season."
