The surrounding forest was, as always, nearly devoid of animals. It seemed most wildlife got the memo that things were getting shaky in the dragon clan, but it was probably the near-massacre of a few critters that left them scrambling to leave.

Still, Cardin wasn't all that worried about hunting. He hadn't been nearly as hungry lately as his clan mates, although that could be attributed to the nauseous feeling he always got when he watched them eat these days. It was, quite literally, sickening.

After wandering in no one direction for awhile, Cardin came to realise he was drawing close to another clans lair. He figured he was still okay to approach. If they didn't want him any closer, they would have stopped him by now.

Passing through a final block of leaves, the Skydancer came face to face with three dragons, all much larger than he was.

The first was an Imperial, large in size even for his race. He had the eyes of the ice flight, as did the rest of his group. He stood out, though, with a vivid blue torso and green misty tendrils that decorated the entirety of his body.

To the right of the Imperial was a Pearlcather, her striking eyes narrowed in suspicion. She kept her pearl in her tail, wrapped tightly and covered with a light blue tuft of fur from prying eyes. Her pelt was a shimmering red, brought out only by her similarly shining blue wings. Blue wisps of smoke, the colours of berries, decorated her coat.

Finally there was a Skydancer, much like himself. She also had a blue body, similar in hue to the Imperial but decorated by strange lines. Like the very scales that adorned her body were nearly coming off. Her wings were a bright yellow, ranging in tones, and her belly was a silvery colour. She seemed the friendliest of the trio, looking at Cardin with only curiosity.

"Hello, Skydancer." The Imperial's voice was low and rumbling, loud enough to make Cardin take an involuntary step backwards.

"Evening," he replied easily, trying to keep the mood light. They certainly didn't look like they wanted anyone from his clan there. "I just wanted to ask how your clan faired. Nothing else."

The Pearlcatcher stepped forward then, her hostile eyes matched by a snarl. "Out clan prospers, Skydancer, but that's no thanks to your kind. We've had to create a curfew and-"

The Imperial silenced her with a flick of his tail, before continuing, "We recommend you leave. We don't want any trouble."

Cardin pursed his lips, anger rising in him. He forced it down, choosing instead to only dip his head in understanding. "Of course. Thank you for your time." He left quickly and quietly, his shame decorating him like a medal.
