The Mirror listens to the conversation, thankful the golem isn't anywhere nearby. The talk doesn't really help with things she didn't know about, colors wise or mechanics wise. Sort of a bummer. Even without that, it sounded like an interesting bit of conversation. She had ideas for the halo, too. So many possibilities.

The firework that suddenly goes off, causing the dragon to instinctively duck down. She wasn't prepared at all for that, but it does provide a nice light.

She quietly awaits the second round, adjusting slightly to get a clearer view of the firing zone.

~*~

She nods along as the dragon regales her of the tale of becoming the clan leader. "Yeah, Ah can see how being part of a small idealist group could turn a tad bit unwieldy.

She gives a hearty laugh, "Ah can see what ye mean. Meetin' Trip earlier and him complimentin' me on blowin' up some of the lights in the explosives workshop -- was tryin' to stop Lambent and Tarlek fightin'. Already apologized ta m'Niece who needs ta fix what Ah broke. -- he was more excited than upset or scowlin'."

Acgyll continues to ask more questions, "Got any right-hand helpers, like Trip, who help ye run the clan? Who are ye other two healers, out of curiosity?" She raises an eye-ridge, "Do ye enjoy bein' a leader, or would ye rather be a healer, or are ye happy with the balance?"

The second round of fireworks is a little more specialized, finale style tricks. There're several that shoot into the air forming the symbol for air, with a serpentine style one that weaves around the symbol. The tundra seems particularly excited about the next, the comet streaks upwards, explodes and mushrooms, a wave of flame billowing out, similar to the Halo.

The fae snickers, "Alright, so not for the wind festival. But I love that one."

The tundra agrees and they move on. The next one shoots into the air and separates into 5 shots that spout in random directions, each continues splitting into more until they fizzle, creating a hatch-work pattern of bright purples and greens across the sky.

The last few are peony and brocade style, average large circles, full and in bloom in the sky, in varying colors.

"The magnesium, aluminum, chlorine compounds look the best." comes the monotone voice of the fae, "We should add more aluminum to the Halo, make it brighter without fizzling it too fast."

The tundra hums her approval, "Pretty one note though, some copper compounds in between to keep it interesting.

"Solid."

There's a stumbling noise above and a tube lands next to the mirror, crackling to life, "Dangit Zische!" comes the voice of the fae again.

Sparks fly, though this luckily seems to be at least not a rocket style firework.

~*~

She joins in on the laughter, "Quite he has difficulty being, even vaguely stern."

At the question she nods, "Elysia and Kolr are my two trained healers. Neither of whom do I think you've met. Elysia's actually fairly new around her. Kolr has been with us for quite a long time. As for help running the clan itself, mostly Acaph, he's kept quite busy taking care of the hatchlings, but it always a help. Stigr is a good help as well, acts as our main guard, but helps keep order in general as well."

"As for my preference," she pauses, "I miss being a healer. But this is rewarding in it's own way. Teaching has been interesting by itself."

The specialized stuff is the real interesting stuff. Lambent watches on, her tail flicking with every new exciting explosions that paints the sky. She'd really have to learn about some of these. That flame one was insanely cool.

She nods at the standard ones. Could probably pack a little more explosives and gunpowder in some of them, but they're still pretty cool. Hearing the Fae's assessment, she nods idly in agreement, despite the fact they can't see her. The copper greens, for the festival, made sense as well. Should probably incorporate yellows if they could.

As soon as the firework falls and lands next to her, she immediately bounds backwards. Her tail whips it away, but it's a bit late as it shoots off. She can't help but yelp as one shot fires close to an earfin. Then, she lets out a not-so-quiet string of curses, both for the ringing in her one ear and the fact the dragons undoubtedly heard her.

Her pose remains at-the-ready for the Fae to start firing at her. She'll bolt back down the way she came and, if she had to, hide in the Tundra's little forest or jump in the river. Something. Anything.
~*~

Quietly listening along, the Skydancer can't help but smirk at the idea of Acaph taking care of dragons as opposed to hatchlings. It's hard to dismiss an image of Acaph running into the different caves and trying to solve the problems the same way he did with, say, Ramotholo.

"Can't say Ah've met those others, but glad you have a helpin' hand. Why are ye in here, anyway? Someone sick or hurt?" Frowning, she continues, "Am Ah keepin' ye from a patient or somethin'?"

The talk above the mirror ceases immediately, and the pair rush to the edge of their raised platform. Zishce gets to the edge first and glances over at the cursing mirror, "Ah! Sorry! Why were you so close stranger? Why didn't ya announce yourself?"

The fae hovers above and sees next, but pulls back just as quickly landing close to the tundra, and in the most accusatory monotone she can muster says, "What're you doing skulking around in the dark?"

Zishce looks confused between the two. The fae hasn't grabbed a weapon yet though, so that's a good sign, though she is clearly on the defensive, wings pulled tight against her back.

~*~

The pearlcatcher waves a hand dismissively, "No no ones sick or hurt, it's more pre-emptive. Getting things prepared should either of the firestarters come back burned. It wouldn't be the first time. They've gotten a lot better at it, way fewer accidents than when they first got here."

"Your clan is from the Shifting Expanse correct? Do you have a home base there? I understand the troup moves around quite a bit. And what is your role in your clan? Are you strictly a performer?"

She takes a single step back in case the Fae tries anything, but says to the Tundra, "Watching! That's why fireworks exist, right? Not to have them shot at me." The remark is a bit biting.

"Plus," Her tail curls closer and her pose does not let up, "I wanted to see the rig you had for firing. The one I use with the fireworks specialist in my clan is a bit larger and more complex, but are actual fireworks are simpler. So I wandered up just to have the firework dropped at my feet."

Most of her eyes are trained on the Fae, waiting for her to try that fireworks move again. No golem around to protect her this time, but she still had to be weary of fire.

~*~

The dragon grins and nods understandably. "Good plan."

At her slew of questions, the dragon patiently waits and draws in the dirt. It's a rough sketch of a lightning spire with some sort of growth -- a tree or something -- on it. There's some lines representing wires that she scribbles on, then draws a few entryways.

"The lair looks kinda like this. It's our base; got a few permanent guards and a large portion of the hoard. Off to the side here, we set up our largest performance tents. They're for Imperials, Ridgebacks, and Guardians to comfortably enjoy the show. Otherwise, we're just a bunch o'tents that travels around Sornieth." While explaining, she's drawn a rough representation of the continent and the travel route, marking xs on where they stay. "We go through all these places, then end up back home."

She has to think momentarily, "M'roll in the clan, other than performin' is occasionally scoutin', but generally catchin' insects. It's a little bit messy, but Ah'm okay with it. Gembond prevents anything nasty bitin' me and fur quick and easy to clean before a show."

The tundra looks away and flicks her tail sheepishly, "Right, sorry bout that. Wasn't really expecting anyone to be you know, underneath us. Shoulda said something, you coulda watched easy."

The fae is quiet for the moment eyeing the mirror suspiciously, but the tundra is more than happy to fill the awkward silence, "Yeah, Tarlin makes some pretty complex ones. Genius at making things explode, I forged the rig for the most part, Kept it simple, you can check it out if ya like."

The tundra motions for her to come on up, the fae throwing her a look of betrayal and hovering out of reach of the mirror, though she still doesn't seem like she's ready to straight up attack Lambent anymore.

The rig itself has 5 spots for large barrel bolts of black powder rockets, each surrounded by three or four smaller spots for bottle rockets, like the one that dropped next to Lambent.

The fae hovers warily in the background as all of this goes down.

~*~

She nods and motions at the 'map', "Quite the extensive route to move so many. Must be very well organized to pull it off."

To the second statement she asks, "Is that why you were sent here with the mirror? Scouting ahead? Or another reason?"

The dragon moves up. Now that she's in close range, the Fae can't attack her so easily without accidentally hurting her friend. She has the upper hand now.

She smirks as she inspects the rig. It's well manufactured, but crude in terms of potential space and power. "If you want more precise timing, in case that's important to you, you can make a small wired Pyro-button-box with one of your Lightning electricians. It'd be similar to turning on one of the lights that keeps the tunnels bright." She explains in brief terms, "Helps if you have multiple rigs that need to go off and from a safer distance for less burning." She inspects it a little more, walking to put it between herself and the Fae, then going back, "It's put together very nicely. Will definitely last a long time."

Lambent refuses to ask Tarlek about her fireworks just yet. Maybe not even ever.

~*~

"Ye, Torebra's good at what he does, bein' leadin' and organizing." She nods, then listens to Kaja's next batch of questions.

The older dragon nods some more, "Lambent's perfectly capable o' gettin' here herself, but we needed to know where this place was, which is why Ramotholo came along, and needed ta make sure she did what she was supposed ta. That was my job." Shrugging, she adjusts her wings, so they sit better on her back, "But Ah did a bit of scoutin' so Ah'll say 'yes' ta both of those questions."

The tundra grins, "Regular engineer are ya? Smart thinkin though, might have to talk to the workshop folk bout riggin somethin like that up! Sounds handy. Not like we use this rig a lot though. This festival will be its first real run. Though we do only have the one rig, so timing isn't a huge issue. And thanks! Nothin fancy, but it works."

Oblivious to her friend the tundra happily prattles on about the process of making the rig, while Tarlek hovers in the background warily, settling on the platform eventually and creaking around on her prosthetics to collect the spent rockets into a box, keeping an eye on the mirror the whole time. She loads four bottle rockets into the rig while Zische talks, flitting back from the mirror as she looks closer.

~*~

The pearlcatcher nods, "Right Torebra, I remember Trip telling me of him. Apparently they've met a few times before, when your show was still small. It has grown quite a bit from what he told me, as have we really."

"Out of curiosity," she looks about the room, "your companions are not currently with you, any idea where they've ventured of to? Just exploring I presume."

"Not really." Lambent answers, "Just had to work with a lot of fireworks. I understand the mechanics pretty darned well, but only specifically about fireworks. Not much else."

She listens about the workings of her particular rig and how it works specifically with her fire dragon element. She does occasionally eye the Fae, but mostly listens, nods, and is generally impressed with Zische's work.

The rockets look interesting, but she doesn't ask. They're going to test them, so she'll at least be able to ask Zische about some of the ways they use their gunpowder. Avoid talking with the Fae entirely! An excellent plan.

She just hoped the Tundra wasn't that much of a Tundra brain.

~*~

"Trip and Torebra have met? Ah never knew that." Acgyll idly states. "Man, Ah remember the show when it was minuscule. Ah probably met 'im once before, too. Sorry ta say Ah can't remember at all though. So many faces comin' and goin'." Her eyes glaze over for a split second as she goes through her mental database of faces, but still fails to remember.

"My companions..." She thinks quietly. "Well, Ramotholo's studying the stars somewhere, but probably not too far away. He might be dacin' about, assuming the fireworks 'ave stopped." She looks at the small passageway in the ceiling, hearing nothing. She looks back to Kaja, "Then Lambent's takin' care of herself. She's capable. Though Ah better take a stroll to make sure the fireworks aren't shootin' at 'er again."

Standing straight, she dusts her legs off with her tail, "Lovely chattin'. Ah'll see you about?"

@Averil The tundra finally glances over and notices the fae, "Oh, next sets ready! Sorry... mirror lady, you can watch but you gotta stand back behind the rig a ways." Tossing her companion a final glare full of as much anger as she can muster the fae gathers with her friend behind the rig, she hovers a safe distance from Lambent. The next few rockets fire off as a set. The first pair spiral up together in a helix of bright white and green and bursts and spreads into a hazy smoky cloud. The two that follow streak and spiral in aqua and bright white through the cloud swirling and spinning up the haze. A final shot that follow disperses the serpentine path of the streaks and dissipates the cloud in an eruption of shimmering sparks. The pair exchange grins. "That one actually went pretty well for a first try!" "Indeed," replies the fae, "More Zinc on the real run though, smoke dissipates to fast. Next set will just be testing brightness and concentrations, then we can wrap it up yeah?" The tundra nods, and glances expectantly to their spectator while the fae returns to the rig. ~*~ Kaja waves her paw dismissively, "Reasonable, no worries. And good plan. It was wonderful chatting with you as well Acgyll, and I certainly hope so!" The pearlcatcher returns to organizing and prepping the clinic when the skydancer leaves down the hall. As Acgyll passes the hatchery Acaph is missing, but a different dragon seems to have taken over his shift as attendant.
