Evelyn weaved between the trees, humming a soft melody as she carefully threaded her way through fallen branches. Her parents had never allowed her to travel to The Viridian Labyrinth as a hatchling, for they said the journey was far too long and dangerous for her to trek; though her heart longed to be within the branches of Gladekeeper's everlasting forests. She then smiled, spotting a large tree for her to nestle in. Climbing steadily, she made it to the top, leafy branches brushing her scales as it moved in the wind. Evelyn closed her eyes wistfully, and breathed in the wonderful new scents of the blooming forest. The forest seemed to welcome her as she nestled there, and decided that this was the place meant for her all along.

Name: Umbriel

“Stop, where are you taking me!” she squeaked out as they began to walk. She tried to wiggle out of the dragon’s grasp but found him to be too strong.
“To see our matriarch,” the other ridgeback stated simply.

She pranced around the plains along with her friends, not having a care in the world. Her life was just starting, a new face in the kingdom, and adored by all.
As she sat to rest her little legs, she noticed a pair of blood red eyes glowing beyond the bamboo. She sat and stared, not scared nor anything like it. She was brave as she got up slowly walking over to the thick forest. But once she approached, the gorgeous garnet eyes she caught site of, were gone in a flash. All that was left was a swinging and swaying made from a large heavy animal.
She stood at the entrance, not looking back, but looking forward veering into it. As if she was mesmerized by what she had seen. As she took a few steps further, no one had taken notice young coatls disappearance.
She went on through and through, listening for the sounds of the creature, until a few days later she came across a field that looked stained with blood. She carried on, hungry and heaving, until she had collapsed there. Before her very eyes, there stood the dragon with the blood red eyes. But that's all she had seen of the creature, for the time she had woken up, she was surrounded by the garnet red eyes of a dozen dragons, and smack down in the middle of a small village. She was met face to face by a graceful skydancer holding out her hands to offer the little one help.
Days turned into months as the skydancer raised her as her own, and taught her the true meaning of family.
Although she knew not of the creature who saved her, for she had never seen them again. But she still thanks them to this day, for the family she's so happy to be with, and the great times they have shared with one another.
