2 My goal for the new year is to work up to be able to walk to the beach (1 mile approx) I was on my way to achieving this goal in 2016 but got struck with plantar fasciitis and then torn tendons in my right foot. I will do this this year

4 Hilda and OldOak - first, their story and clan lore
Clan Karma Information (latest update 12/21/2016):
They are not mates. Their bond is stronger for it. Their bond is forged by the struggles they faced beside each other. They hatched into a hard life, one of toil and tears. They were slaves of the Beast Clan that stole them as eggs from the comfort of their nest. And while still in the clutches of the Beast Clan, they faced the worst treatment, being shackled together they did everything together. Together they cried, struggled and fought for their freedom. And OldOak and Hilda have been together ever since. Never knowing their own parents or family the created their own.
OldOak and Hilda now do their best to offer freedom, understanding and love to all dragons in need. OldOak watches quietly, ready to react if trouble comes their way and will mediate within their clan. Hilda can be the life of the party or the end of one. She has great strength, both emotional and physical and not only will she defend her clan fiercely, she will also be the one to kiss everyone goodnight, or to offer a hug when needed. In spite of her early life Hilda still has quite a sense of humor and OldOak says that is what helped him trudge along - and he helped her learn when to speak out and when it is best just to sit and watch. They even each other out.
Little by little The clan is coming together to find peace, love and kindness. And they all share the knowledge that together they can make all of their tomorrows the best possible.
Once fearing the size of the dragons, the Beasties, as they were known in this region, found that in large numbers they could out maneuver a single dragon, earning a new slave. As slaves these dragons dug for hours on end in the mines. Or they toiled in the heat of the kitchens, cooking huge meals to serve to the massive amounts of Beastie mouths. The meager meal of the dragons were cooking down in one cauldron – in spite of the diet needs to keep a dragon healthy – they were boiling down bones for a marrow broth that they would enhance with whatever they could scavenge safely.
They treated dragons horribly, often stealing eggs directly from the nest when the parents are distracted by their cohorts. One minute there are 4 eggs and then there are only 3. Parents mourn the loss of the hatchling that should have been there, ready to hatch in just a few more days.
Egg deliveries
I guess word has gotten out that we take in those that have been mistreated or stolen by the Beasties. And it seems that we have some sympathizers among the Beasties as well.
Every once in a while a Beastie will be seen on the outskirts of the clan, trying to make eye contact without getting too much attention. They have the best of intentions apparently as they will set an egg or a hatchling in the soft moss once someone sees that they are there. They set their bundle down and then back away with their head bowed, which must have some meaning within the Beastie society.
Hilda and OldOak have increased patrols, not to launch an attack on the friendly Beasties, but to be there to offer some food, warm clothing or even just a smile. Since the more frequent friendly patrols have started we have had a marked increase with how many Beasties wish to serve alongside our clan.
This is a new trend that brings hope to KarmaClan
