He's small and he's young and he's scared. His parents are gone and there's thunder and rain and sleet, and he's huddling beneath his sister's wing, the only spot that's not completely drenched. He wishes they were somewhere else. Anywhere else.
"I don't want to be here," he whines at Misaki, who regards him with a soft gaze.
"Here," she says slowly and hands him an old leather book, the letters on the cover inelligible from permanent use. "Read it. I'm right here with you."
Luyten opens the book, still shivering, and it does not take much time at all until he's immersed in the writing, the tale wrapping around him like thick cotton; the storm around him is forgotten in favor of the adventure in front of him.

kyswirl was a dragon born and raised in the Ashfall Waste, happy and carefree. Her past affected her greatly, and led to her caring and tender nature. However, when she was still fairly young, her clan was attacked by a Beastclan horde. She barely made it out alive, having to fight her way through Centaurs. While she was fighting, she noticed two dragons not of her clan fighting for the dragons. Those two were Starlight and Limestone. The two dragons managed to save her, but not before she witnessed something devastating. Her parents, killed by the Beastclan horde. She's never fully recovered from that, yet she went along with Starlight and Limestone, joining the then small clan of dragons. There, she met Earlertren, who helped her greatly through the death of her parents. She managed to regain her happiness and optimism, but with a cost. Her innocence had disappeared, and with it came a violent side. Earlertren and Starlight had managed to help Skyswirl, by getting her to channel her violence and temper against enemies. It was after one such battle that Skyswirl had decided to go lava-diving, where she met her future mate, Burn. It puzzled her greatly what a Water Dragon was doing in the Ashfall Waste, much less diving in lava. She managed to bring him home with her, and they've been mates ever since.

Sephiro is a very curious Wildclaw, who loves exploring and digging around in unusual looking places. More often than not it leaves him with a patchy look of matted fur and dried dirt; he's been covered in remnants of his explorations for so long, he doesn't even remember what his markings actually look like.
His last excursion lead him to a limestone field which ended with his fur reaching an epic new level of patchiness and stubborn, white spots all over. Since he's not exceptionally vain the lime particles in his fur don't really bother him, what does bother him, is that for Coatls pale or spotty coloration is a sign for illness and fading health and because he decided to finally do something about his crush on Gale, a Coatl girl with striking blue-range colors, bathing time it is.
This has caused some speculations between other clan members (rumor has it there is even a betting pool, but psst) about how exactly he looks under all the dirt and minerals.

Mistralfrost and Frozenmist are two brothers that were taken in during the Hatchling Influx, with both arriving at the same time. The larger Imperial was carrying his younger sibling, who was bleeding from a skirmish with two Zeebas. The youngsters were taken in only for aid at first, until the Clan found out that they were both orphans from a scattered Clan. In choppy draconic, Mistralfrost could only explain that their parents were missing and that the two couldn't find them. Skywing found the story rather unlikely, as healthy as the two were, but Frostforge simply frowned at him and took them under her wing. " Cestienon will know what to do." She said.
Unfortunately, once the mentioned Spiral and Nightveil patched the little Nocturne Frozenmist up, the two hatchlings were content on staying with the Clan. With them being Shadow dragons, Cestienon offered to escort them through the Tangled Wood trying to find their home Clan, similar to how she continuously checked on the abandoned nest Purpleshear was found in to make sure they weren't kidnapping anyone. The two little ones didn't mind, enjoying the company of another Shadow dragon instead of a scary Fire adult (or another Zeeba), but the trio's ventures into the darkened wood proved fruitless. Finally, Frostforge couldn't bear it. " We're taking them in." She declared. " We'll raise them at least until their home has been found."
So far the brothers' home hasn't been found; however, they have found a new home under the darkened skies of the Ashfall Waste, intrigued by the blood-red sun as it set and the copper moon as it rose.

The first Imperial of the Clan, Mistralfrost is a Shadow dragon in that he practices darker, sneakier tactics during battle, while at the same time being influenced by the Fire dragons in the Clan. The large Imperial specializes in dark magic area spells, preferring to deal tons of damage all at once to try and get rid of the targets instantly. " The faster, the better." He grumbles. While the touchy Imperial can be hard to bond with even for the most amiable and tolerant of Clan members, he is worth having in case a battle is taken to the heart of Clan territory, as he can crowd-control vast areas in order to protect the lair.
