-Come Meet The Reapers by Fable Cry
Cardani was cast from his clan for his inability to see light; only his heat sensing eyes work. Joined by Ink and Million, The Pack of Visions is created. As the creator of this 'locke, obviously I was going to make a run of my own. Majority of rules are listed here, but I've cut some fluff out. Espescially anything optional, I'll just show what I'm using.

I will also put down, I started this 'locke mainly because I have a lot of dragons I've hatched, that I want to do something with, but haven't paired them off. When I get a "buy a dragon off AH", I'll introduce these dragons, until I run out. I may also use dragons I've gotten from free threads, as NPCs, but am unsure.

He knew they needed to stop soon, hearing Ink's smaller wings falter every once and a while. She needed rest, he needed rest. They also needed food. The problem was shelter. The plaguelands, full of decay, did not allow shelter aside from occasionally towering bones and rocks. Not that he could really see them, or even smell them. He wondered how things would've been, had he grown somewhere else where he could smell every block, and weaknessess was not shunned. He shook his head. His blindness was not weakness, he would never say that. Ink shook him, "Trees! Trees!" Cardani breathed deeply. Yes, a new scent. He was not sure what trees were supposed to smell like, at least is Gladekeeper's realm. In Plaguebringer's, they smelled of decay and what he assumed was bark. He had assumed every tree grew leaves, but these carried no leaf scent. He'd take a better look later. Right now, Ink was dragging him closer. "They're dead," she sighed, "but that's expected. But Cardani, it looks like a whole forest is here! That's so rare in the plaguelands." It was. He recalled on Mirror pack whe joined who followed migrating animals. These animals apparently stopped by many forest on the way, but he'd been kicked out before he got there. Was this one of the forests? He dropped the thought. "Rare indeed. Plenty of prey must come here, do you think there any good streams?" Wind brushed against his face as Ink took off to survey above, quickly returning. "There's a brook! It looks like further it turns into a marsh. Cardani, we've found an oasis!" Oasis. He liked the sound. A marsh would be too wet, but they could hide in the trees for tonight. Ink would dig them a nest. He didn't want to get her hopes up, but this could be their home. His insticnts pushed against the thought, one of a permanent place, but he was not built for constant traveling. Or, at least, Ink wasn't, and she was his guide. He could not manage travel alone, so he would settle on a home with her. The was when something crawled out of the ground. Two-headed, two-tailed, a large body. Aberration, and a quick smell confirmed. Ink pushed into her side. "What are you doing here," it growled. Cardani stepped forward, twoard it. Him. Smelled like a him. Ink followed. He always did the talking. "We just want to rest. We've walked long, and we need food. We need some rest to hunt. It's obvious now, this place would be claimed by a clan, we apologize." One head dropped. (Assumedly. The heat melded with the chest, usually that meant the head lowered.) The other kept staring. Then both heads snapped twoard each other, until the heat mingled to where one snount ended and the other began was unknowable. Finally, after some whispered argument, he responded. "No clan, just me." "Us." "Me." The heads snapped back together for another whispered argument. Cardani was starting to feel annoyed. A cough. "As I was saying, just me. I'll allow you a stay, as long as you agree to help hunt. There is a large beast in the marsh nearby. It would provide plenty of meat-" "-and bones!" "That would feed myself for days. I've not been able to take it down alone." Cardani weighed his options for a second. It would be too much risk, taking on a difficult hunt for some rest. Even if he relished the idea of such a chase. He was about to respond no, when Ink whispered in his ear. "Cardani! This dragon has many, many eyes. On his horns to his tails. And he's bigger then both of us. The fact he didn't chase us away is huge." Cardani tilted his head. Ink always thought in ways he couldn't. "I should warn you, only two of my eyes work. I can only sees things that give off heat. Body heat. She has to stay beside me or I'll step into a ditch." The heads argued again. "Fine. Two bodies is better then one, just like two heads is. If you must work as one body and two heads, I don't care." "Come, we'll show you our lair-" "Our home-" "-Our lair, so you can sleep." ----- Cardani growled as he tripped over a root to their home. Ink moved to help, but a growl grumbled in Cardani's throat. "We're here, I don't need you to walk me anymore." Ink knew he was frustated, today had been a bad hunt. She didn't help him down the tunnel. She didn't need too, the tunnel was carved into a step-like structure. Cardani already knew his own home like the back of his hand, he knew which direction to go from the entrance to his bed. He flopped over onto the deer (assumedly, animals were weird in plague) hide. "What happend?" Million asked. One head, the right, looked at Cardani, while the other chewed on a leftover bone. "I tripped," Cardani grumbled. He rolled onto his back, using his hands to talk. "We were chasing some rabbit-things, it would've been a massive haul. But I didn't see a rock, I tripped." The head chewing the bone let out a giggle. The slapstick in his mind was probably exaggerated. The other head simply shrugged. Cardani rolled back onto their side. He was very frustated with himself, today. This was why he couldn't find a pack among his own species, he'd always been left behind on the hunt. He'd decided to make his own pack one day. At first he wanted to make one of other mirrors, he didn't think any other species could keep with a hunt. That was until he had been starving, dying, and Ink appeared. Her bug-like eyes and long body provided more then the occosional prey, she had become his guide. At first he hated it, and there were still days he snapped at her. He sighed, pushing to his feet and quickly scanning the room. While his light-seeing eyes could not help him spot rocks or dirt, his heat-sensing eyes worked fine. He saw the twisting mass of warmth that marked Ink- Million had the two heads and mixture of multiple organs- and approached her. "I'm sorry, I was quite upset after our hunt. I took it out on you." Ink quickly twisted to face Cardani, and he felt her throw a hug onto him, "I'm not mad!" "What are you doing?" he asked, sniffing the shelves Ink had been pawing at. It was their 'kitchen' (a firepit and some seasonings), but they'd caught nothing to cook. Ink took her arms off Cardani and twisted above him. "I was just looking at our stock. We'll probably need to find some plants soon." She pulled a jar off the shelf, shaking it so Cardani could hear the few leaves. "There's still light left, we can gather some today if you want." "Oh no," she said, placing the jar back, "we should hunt again. You need to eat, too." She yawned, "I should take a nap first," and she slunk away to her crevice. He felt a small smile cross his face. He had never expected a spiral to keep up with his persistance hunting, hearing stories of their bursts before sleeping mid-sentance. Ink was actually quite attune to her energy levels. Cardani had no problems letting her sleep as much as she wanted, as long as she kept up. He swung to face Million, "Will you be joining us?" "Of course-" "No, I have a bone to chew you imbecile." "Your bone will still be here when you get back." "I have started chewing it, and I shall not be stopped!" The argument continued. Cardani's smile widened. He didn't need a pack of other mirrors. ----- And that's the introduction to our three starters! Maybe not my best writing, I do better with emotionally charged scenes then "first chapters". We'll get plenty of those later on. I'll start the first pull tomorrow after work, or Monday. Cardani and Ink had been traveling a long time today, even his legs were growing weary.
Trees!"
Cardani breathed deeply.
That's so rare in the plaguelands."
It was. He recalled on Mirror pack whe joined who followed migrating animals. These animals apparently stopped by many forest on the way, but he'd been kicked out before he got there. Was this one of the forests?
He dropped the thought. "Rare indeed. Plenty of prey must come here, do you think there any good streams?"
Wind brushed against his face as Ink took off to survey above, quickly returning. "There's a brook! It looks like further it turns into a marsh. Cardani, we've found an oasis!"
Oasis.
It's obvious now, this place would be claimed by a clan, we apologize."
One head dropped. (Assumedly. The heat melded with the chest, usually that meant the head lowered.) The other kept staring. Then both heads snapped twoard each other, until the heat mingled to where one snount ended and the other began was unknowable.
Finally, after some whispered argument, he responded. "No clan, just me."
"Us."
"Me."
The heads snapped back together for another whispered argument. Cardani was starting to feel annoyed.
A cough. "As I was saying, just me. I'll allow you a stay, as long as you agree to help hunt. There is a large beast in the marsh nearby. It would provide plenty of meat-"
"-and bones!"
"That would feed myself for days. I've not been able to take it down alone."
Cardani weighed his options for a second. It would be too much risk, taking on a difficult hunt for some rest. Even if he relished the idea of such a chase. He was about to respond no, when Ink whispered in his ear.
"Cardani! This dragon has many, many eyes. On his horns to his tails. And he's bigger then both of us. The fact he didn't chase us away is huge."
Cardani tilted his head. Ink always thought in ways he couldn't. "I should warn you, only two of my eyes work. I can only sees things that give off heat. Body heat. She has to stay beside me or I'll step into a ditch."
The heads argued again. "Fine. Two bodies is better then one, just like two heads is. If you must work as one body and two heads, I don't care."
"Come, we'll show you our lair-"
"Our home-"
"-Our lair, so you can sleep."
Cardani growled as he tripped over a root to their home.
But I didn't see a rock, I tripped."
The head chewing the bone let out a giggle.

He couldn't deal with just Ink and Cardani beside him. Pyrite was still around.
What do we do? the left head asked the other. The more reckless, the less focused. The right head did not respond.
They walked, with Million following slowly behind. "Spindle," the right head finally said, "you think nothing is worth researching here? The Beast?"
Spindle shook his head. "Oh the beast is intereating, but it's just Mother's creations. If there were more of them, I could imagine the possibilities!"
Million's tails twitched, forming and unforming their helix. His eyes blinked at the same time, usually. Right now they went slowly, crawling. He wanted one on Spindle at all times.
"Will you be back?"
"Of course! I enjoyed my stay here."
"Goodbye, then."
Spindle twisted his head to respond. He didn't get too. The heads bit each side of his neck. Spindle crumpled to the floor. The right head stared to sob. The left head started making it look like an accident.

Like I said in the rules/original post I made, sometimes I have the energy to do more days. Probably should've not because I rolled a Death Streak on one of those trinkets.

93. Death Streak. Randomize the dragons and use the venue that matches the highest level on the team
28. Roll a 1d6 for each egg that is nesting. On a 1 or 6 that egg gets an extra life (N/A)
7. Take all dragons 3 or lower level and train them up a level. They're immune to death within the coli while training
Pyrite is my only dragon under level three, so I used my fodder trainer in the mire. Py's now at 4. Not sure what to do for the "apparel" pull. Might work on moodboards or drawing the beast. I did the coli runs then the Death Streak. Cardani, Million, and Ink were rolled for the 50 battles, and they did fine in Woodland Path. For the Death Streak it was Spindle, Pyrite, and Ink, which means they also had to fight in Woodland Path. Spindle and Py were already at quater health by round 3, and Spindle fell first. At the least, Pyrite gained a level in his place. So ...goodbye Spindle you did well for a while. I planned this trans storyline for Spindle so this is unfortunate.

Cardani has bolster and goes first, so 10 battles in the path was nothing, and Cardani got to level 8, while Million got to 7. Dragon for 74 was Ink, so she lost a life. Lowest levels were Py (4), Ink (6), and Million (7), so 10 more battles in Woodland Path. It was close by round 6 but Py fell first. And finally the besties which was Ink and Cardani. Befitting. Anyway, next time I get to grab a new dragon I might buy Million a partner instead.

That's never been our real goal, the left reminded.
The right, the cautious, the more focused, did not want to do this. He'd never wanted to do any of it. It was Left's impulsivty with his weakness, an inability to control his feet.
