Adapted from The original 100 hatchlings challenge & For the glory of light challenge
  1. Choose a matriarch, give her some lore.
  2. The matriarch can breed with each mate only once. The matriarch's mates will be trained in the ways of Nature (Lv 10 minimum) before being exalted to the Gladekeeper's service. All mates must be added to the matriarch's lore to keep weaving her story.
  3. Mates from other clans are more than welcome, but please keep in mind they will be exalted once their service to the matriarch’s cause is complete. If you donate a mate, you’ll have first pick of his descendants if you’re interested in raising one.
  4. The High Priestess of Linden Coven, in her wisdom, will determine how each hatchling will serve the Gladekeeper: by being exalted to Her service, by joining the Coven and starting their own lineages, or by moving to other clans and spreading the ways of Nature. All descendants must get their own lore and be present in the matriarch’s story.
  5. Exalting: dragons must study the ways of Nature (Lv 10 minimum) before being exalted to the Gladekeeper’s service.
  6. Joining the Coven: Linden Coven is still growing, and some of the matriarch’s offspring may be called to stay permanently. They will study the ways of Nature (Lv 10 minimum) before they can become full members of the Coven.
  7. Moving to other clans: in the spirit of the original challenge, some/most hatchlings will be available for adoption as ambassadors of Nature. They will come with a bit of lore and maybe some items. Please don’t adopt any of the hatchlings only to resell/exalt them immediately, give them a home for a while and maybe breed them at least once!
  8. The challenge will end once the matriarch has fulfilled all of the following:
    a. Had 100 hatchlings.
    b. Had one hatchling of each modern breed.
    c. Had one hatchling called to change into each ancient breed, producing ancient breed descendants.
    d. Had one mate from every Flight.
    e. Had one hatchling with each type of Nature eyes.
    f. Pleased the Gladekeeper enough to be turned into a Wldclaw, Nature's native breed.
Only then will she (and I) rest.

Athena felt that she was different -- and everyone else did, too. Unable to fit in among the rest of the hatchlings of the Earth, Athena knew from an early age that she was destined to leave. Green and lush with life. If nothing else, Athena figured, she would be able to eat there. Something was different about this land. Athena felt it in her bones. She walked on soft grass, ate more fruits and leaves she had never even imagined existing, looked around in awe at the beauty sprouting from the land. She'd been born to a flight of builders, surrounded by magnificent monuments built to stand the test of time. How could something so different feel so much like home? She'd been there for a few days when she reached a damp, dark corner of a forest. The lush grass and fragrant flowers gave way to moss, mushrooms and ferns. And though she'd been warned about the effects of some mushroom species on the mind, Athena couldn't help herself: she ate and she ate until her belly was full for the first time in weeks, and then found a nice spot where she could take a nap. A voice woke her up with a start. She opened her eyes to see a talking, moving fungus staring straight into her eyes. And though she couldn't understand the words they said, her mind somehow painted a picture for her.
"Athena, daughter of the Earth. You are home at last."
The sage touched Athena's eyes with their walking stick, and she suddenly felt like she was seeing for the very first time. She could see her destiny. What the Gladekeeper wanted from her. Athena was meant to bring forth life -- to bring forth souls for the Gladekeeper's glory. But a lone dragon, no matter how determined, can't fulfill such a request on her own. By a Linden tree, Athena saw a dryad helping a magnificent dragon gather plants and herbs. When the dryad noticed Athena and the sage, she alerted the dragon, who introduced herself as Rhea, the High Priestess of the Linden Coven.
"What is it that you seek?"
Athena explained it all. Her months of solitude, her nights of despair, her encounter with the sage, and the message from the Gladekeeper. Rhea looked thoughtful for a moment before she spoke.
"The dragons in our coven are servants of the Glade Mother. If she sent you to us, she must want us to help."
Over the next months, Athena trained in the ways of Nature, learning from Rhea herself as well as from the other dragons by the linden tree. And when the High Priestess felt she was ready, she gave Athena her own den by their tree so she could do as the Gladekeeper asked of her.
