Since I have empty nests right now, I figured I might as well try and breed some of them up to a Limited tert. This pair is for just that! I also have another nest that just hatched this morning. I bred the pair before I decided not to use scrolls, though, so they're Rin-dragons, but with Common terts. Not sure if I'll end up using them at all. The Starmap/Bee one is only slightly closer in color compared to her mother. That Sparkle's colors are -/+/+ & it's a female, same as these two babies though.

Also, I saw a post here last night (that I think has since been deleted?) about using Boulder for Yuya - I somehow completely missed that the Ancient Aerie update introduced two new genes! :O I think Boulder looks great on him! I especially love Vermilion Boulder, with the orange body & the red underbelly - helps out with that orange vs. red issue. And I don't have any issues with using it - I expect these to all be multi-month projects, so in that time I'm sure I'll eventually be able to buy a close-enough-colored Boulder dragon (...fingers crossed). Sparkle was released just a bit ago, and I've been able to find some decent (& decently priced) dragons on the AH for Rin ^.^ I was also reminded how good Emerald Flair looks on him! I had fiddled with it a bit originally, but decided there wasn't enough green. After reflecting on Yuya's color palette some more though, I think the truth is that I will just have to deal with not matching his color palette perfectly XD Certainly that's what I'm doing for some of the other designs. Only one Pearlcatcher with Runes though, and a male too - I'm definitely short on females for Ray, so there's no immediate mate for this one. Oh well. R/R/Runes and Pearlcatchers are relatively common on the AH, so any of the three may end up being really useful. Overall quite pleased with the nest [emoji=pearlcatcher happy size=1]

He has a common tert, so will have to eventually breed into a Sparkle. Here's the planned pair: [img]https://i.imgur.com/4JiuhrS.png[/img] Closest possible colors: -9/+1/0 21% chance of a Bee/Sparkle Fae, 11% chance of a Starmap/Bee/Sparkle Fae. However, most of my current Rin-dragons have a +X tert (Trine is one of only 3 with a -X tert), so to make it a lot easier to breed for the correct colors further down the line, I'm also specifically looking for a -X tert (hitting the exact color, Bubblegum, is also fine). This brings the chances down to just [b]4%[/b] for a Bee/Sparkle Fae with a -X tert, and [b]2%[/b] for a Starmap/Bee/Sparkle Fae with a -X tert. Awfully low. ...In fact, didn't realize how low it was until I crunched the numbers just now [emoji=fae laughing size=1] May have to settle for just a Bee/Sparkle Fae with a low-ish +X tert. The other branches also have a chance of producing -X terts, so can always just breed into one of those, I guess. Anyway, Laguna is off breeding CD on June 15th, so I have a full Trine breeding cycle before then - that's why I'm breeding Trine with the Imperial today. If I happen to hit that Starmap/Bee male Fae, esp with +/-/- colors, I'll breed that offspring with Laguna instead. Definitely looking for a -X tert too (& the chances are much better for this pair! 16% chance of a Starmap/Bee/Sparkle with a -X tert) Ready on June 23rd Color ranges on all three branches are pretty big, so planning to breed all three branches in parallel (I have a couple of spare dragons that can be used as mates later on in any of the three branches) until the color ranges get much closer, and then breed them into each other. Because both of the other two branches have Starmap in them, it's also okay if the Fae branch (with Trine) loses Starmap.

Finally settled on some naming themes for Rin & Ray. Also, getting difficult to refer to dragons in the spreadsheet by ID number. I apply one name theme when I breed (unnamed) dragons, and another when I exalt. Rin & Ray both have a couple of unnamed dragons that I've bred already, so going through and naming them: Rin's bred-dragons naming theme will be cold-related words, ending at Winter x Snow or Winter x Ice. Then may have to further breed the offspring from that pair to some of my spares, to get to the right colors. The second branch is aiming for an Imperial with perfect/one-off colors and all rare genes (or a rare primary & secondary, and then Runes as the tert). EDIT 5/30: Found a White/White/Swamp male Imp on the AH today with all rare genes! Will be breeding him with the gray female Imp instead, once he's off CD ^.^ The final results of these two branches (Tapir/Blend/Runes of a rare breed & a R/R/R Imperial) will be bred together to try and make Zarc! (Hmmmmm, also a side note, went through the greens for Zarc again, and maybe Leaf is nicer. A little brighter, so matches the green from the Blend better. Pear matches his actual hair streak color better though.)
