But then, number 16 came along and finally showed some promise. I would HATE to be in this group come spring time with all these balls of fur roaming around. Let's see how Twilight does compared to his Ancient friends. [center][i]Phase Two Roll: 11 (Major Heist) ALL DRAGONS[/i][/center] Ahem. I have some bad news. In case you haven't noticed the change in handwriting, this is Hest now. Rudy didn't make it through the last Heist, an ambitious attack on a full clan of dragons. She and Orwell died side by side, and Pear perished as well not long after. I gathered up the rest of us and we fled back to safety, gathered up the orphans, and left to find a new place. I fear that the clan may be tracking us, but moving location is the best that I can do for us at the moment. Our dead will be missed, and we shall honor them. It is with a heavy heart that I take up the mantle of Enduring and do my best to lead us to relative stability once more. [center][b]Funds: 203135[/b][/center]

[center][b]The Enduring's Journal Day Ten[/b] [i]Phase One[/i][/center] As we traveled through the Mire, I was wary of any and all strangers. We found another lone dragon, wandering the bogs and swamps. She speaks very quietly for a dragon of her size, as if she's afraid of being as big as she is. I suppose Tau is looking for her charge, and I invited her to travel along with us for as long as she desires. Tau volunteered to go since I suppose she feels responsible, and I had Tema go with her since he's one of our more experienced members. When they returned, Tema was gravely wounded. I don't blame Tau for his injury, as he was hurt by arrows and not by claws. She blames herself though, that much is clear. We are living through grave times. [center][b]Funds: 209824[/b][/center]

[center][b]The Enduring's Journal Day Eleven[/b] [i]Phase One[/i][/center] After a long day of searching and scouting, we were no closer to our goal of finding a piece of ground strong enough to build upon. I should think that we need a fortified structure to be safe in. She's a humble fisher with a hut set up on a rocky patch of earth. It is higher than the surrounding waters, and quite sturdy. She agreed to allow us to stay nearby for a while. I think she has some ambitions to do something more exciting than fishing, because she seems inclined to get to know us more than perhaps the average stranger would be. We tell Beat our tales, and she listens closely. She also offered to share her catches of the day with us. [center][b]The Enduring's Journal Day Twelve[/b] [i]Phase One[/i][/center] I wasn't surprised to find Asp cradling two eggs this morning. Beat seemed more shocked, but she handled herself gracefully. She noted that one of her partners in the fishing business was set to visit her today. Beat introduced herself and my crew to him, and he seemed impressed. He greeted me in a formal manner. Blackberry seemed eager to brag about his speed on the wing and talent as a navigator. Perhaps he'd like to be a messenger. We could use his help with recruitment. Tau will go with him since she's well-traveled and I have a policy to never allow a single dragon on a mission. [center][b]The Enduring's Journal Day Thirteen[/b] [i]Phase One[/i][/center] Tau and Blackberry returned safe and sound, with two new members with them. They both have some experience with combat, which will come in handy eventually. Along with two qualified individuals, they also picked up a pretty hapless Tundra. I'm not sure yet what good Shamus will be. Perhaps he's good at building, or fishing, or some other utility skill. [center][b]The Enduring's Journal Day Fourteen[/b] [i]Phase One[/i][/center] Beat has been fishing as usual, and it seems that before long our group is going to attract a lot of her contacts. He slipped up one evening out of the gloom and asked for a job. Construction for our new home is well underway, but I have a feeling he didn't sign up to set stones in place. He wants to fight. We all do, but the walls are a priority. Asp and Tema's children hatched just as the Skydancer trio reached maturity. I look forward to watching them all grow, if I am able. He returned from another trip into civilization, and found two eager dragons. They're cunning fighters, but have a couple of otherwise useful skills. Sapphire is joining our growing team of fishers due to her natural instincts as a Ridgeback, and Onyx is skilled at weaving baskets. [center][b]The Enduring's Journal Day Sixteen[/b] [i]Phase One[/i][/center] Our foundations are finished, and our walls well on their way to being done as well. Blackberry found us a dragon actually experienced in construction. She masked her frustration poorly when she saw my terrible blueprint, and went right to work setting us straight on our path. As they tell it, Deceit was eating more fish than she caught. One of the others killed her, though they're reluctant to say exactly who. Vivaldi couldn't stand to lose her in this way, and challenged each and every one of the fishers to fight him. With so many against one, it won't come as a surprise that he lost. I held them a short joint funeral, and then we all got back to work on the fortress. [center][b]Funds: 280318[/b][/center]

[center][b]The Enduring's Journal Day Seventeen[/b] [i]Phase One[/i][/center] Turmix helped us fix up what we'd done already, and today we finished the outer walls. All that's left is the inner structure. He offered to help forage until it was time for the real action to begin. Our food stores will be well-stocked with his help in addition to our fishers. Neither returned, so they either were defeated or just deserted. I'm not worried about them being captured and interrogated, because I don't think petty thieves warrant that level of attention.
