Entry 42 Littlescale was set down carefully on the ground in front of the Tundra. An array of dragons watched behind her. Some of them rushed into the hibernal den. As a masked mirror rushed into the den, MoltenCore leapt up. "Someone stop her!!" The Tundra looked at him quizzically. "NightOcean is in there!!" The Tundra tilted her head quizzically, but Evaleena turned and pointed out five other dragons. "Get in there quickly. Stop her or remove the corpse." After the brief flurry of activity, there was an eerie pause. Littlescale felt many eyes upon her. She decided it was best not to speak first. "So, the intruders from before have returned, and to be of assistance in our darkest hour. Seems rather unusual, hmm?" the mild voice came from the gentle, furry face. "I am Kefalotyri, she who guides this clan. I find it interesting also that many of you, including You who leads them" and here she inclined her head towards Littlescale, " have familiar scents." "Some of these are rescues from the den. I think I can only recognize this leader from before; the rest of the others do not seem to be here any longer." Evaleena gazed at the small remnants of the band. Before anyone could say anything further, there were sharp cracking sounds. Gwayth flinched as her eggs hatched, carried along with her as she could not leave them behind. Three hatchlings emerged, all extremely different. Kefalotyri watched this with interest before whispering to Evaleena. There was a tense moment while the two conversed secretly. "I have a proposition to make, but I do wish first to hear of your intentions in our territory." Kefalotyri said finally, looking rather directly at Littlescale. Littlescale firmed her resolve, even those it was a bit challenging while under the icy stare of Kefalotyri. "We don't wish to intrude on your territory any further. Unfortunately, we cannot find the way out of this place, so I decided to try and return to you to request your aid in leaving. I would imagine you want us out of here as soon as possible." Kefalotyri gave Littlescale a rather odd look, before flashing a wide smile. "But of course that can be arranged, if that is indeed what you truly wish. However, such a service must be repayed in kind, don't you think? Your assitance in the den; although exemplary, has merely payed off for your... uninvited stay. Anything further and you must render us a service first." Evaleena glanced quickly down at the Tundra before suddenly and unexpectedly producing a notebook and pen. Littlescale swallowed, she didn't like the sound of this but figured she had no choice but to at least listen. "What is your request?" Kefalotyri's smile grew wider and more gentle. "Well, as you have no doubt noticed, we are currently plagued by rather more HOSTILE intruders than you yourselves have been. And I have been thinking. Why endanger my clan when there are seasoned warriors right here who can handle the situation?" The tundra swished her fluffy tail while the guardian carefully transcribed some notes. "I have inducted a small number of the veilspun into my clan and they are perfectly reasonable, but these others that have assaulted us must be dealt with in some fashion. I can send you with a guide of your choice so you know which areas are our territory, and then I intend for you to work on removing this threat. A month of your time doing so, and I will be happy to allow any survivors to leave my lands." She paused, and then gave a quick clap. "Also, you must leave your hatchlings with us until they are grown, there is simply no need to send them off into war before they can even fight, wouldn't you agree? When they are grown, I will have them sent to you. Trained, of course." Littlescale looked at the ground. This didn't sound ideal, but it was only for a month. It sounded like their best chance, and she wasn't sure she wanted to discover what the alternative option would be. "Very well." "Good, good! Go forth now, see if you can recruit more warriors into your band, you will certainly need them. I will send you a selection of volunteers as guides this evening. Oh you needn't worry... they absolutely will find you. Pick one you're comfortable with and send the rest back." Kefalotyri nodded. "Go my mercenaries. You are dismissed." Oooh the hatchlings are cute!
Oooh the hatchlings are cute!
Agreeing with Wufflesnuff on cute hatchlings! The turn of events is - intruiging! I like what you did here, it was really good to read.
As for my vote - that is a difficult one! I love MoltenCore and his puckish ways. Oak feels the no-nonsense-kind of efficient. I have no idea what to think about StarryNight, and Schala does seem to have an emotional problem in relating to what she sees / hears...

Thinking about it - still thinking - playing around with my dice - can I vote for: Remove StarryNight from the Dice list? No? Too Bad... Then... let it be... Oak!

Entry 43 After some thought, Littlescale turned to Oak. "You're quite right. I'm not here to have fun either." She nodded at the Coatl, although something about him did make her kind of nervous. "Please come with us." "Awww... you're no fun at all." MoltenCore flattened his fins slightly. "Well no matter, you can bet you haven't seen the last of me." Oak glanced down bemusedly at the fae. "As long as you do not interfere with our task." "Oh, of course, of COURSE." chortled MoltenCore. "I'll help!" Whirling about in startlement, she froze. Before her there was one of the hairy dragons. "What." "I'll help." "We're here to stop your invasion, you know." Littlescale drew the blade, its serrations grinding menacingly as it emerged. The dragon rolled his eyes, or at least that's what it looked like under the mane. "Well not all of us have the same agenda, you know. So, it's not MY invasion." Oak interjected, "Indeed, some of the veilspun have joined our clan. It is possible to find uninvolved parties. However, be sure to be cautious." "Right. Of course." Littlescale narrowed her eyes. This was already promising to be unusual. (Phase 2: EVENT) Stocking up on Supplies(oh goddamb it) "Alright. Entry 45 "We've taken too much time for your hunting party to return. You'd best be looking for your recruits while on the move." Oak looked at Littlescale, tilting his antler crowned head slightly. His tone brooked no disagreement. Littlescale bristled a little at this. She decided to let this attitude slide for now, but the agreement was only that he would guide. "Right, let's get moving. We have a lot of this place to cover." She motioned the rest of the band to get packing. "You're a little far Northeast." Oak said grimly, sword spinning in front of him. Littlescale noted with interest that no hands were weilding it. "Let me travel with you! I swear I'll be no trouble!" "You should probably know that we are patrolling the borders to rid this territory of invaders, of your dragon type no less." Littlescale said grimly. "Some of us will be leaving in a month's time out of here, maybe we could escort you to the Tangled Wood." She didn't really WANT to go to the Tangled Wood, but it wasn't here at least. Anyway, anything could happen in the time they had left. Perhaps she would not need to keep that promise, and besides... at least this way she could keep an eye out on this one, and perhaps learn more about their enemy besides. Elven twirled gently about. "He sure is ugly." Littlescale shushed them, and approached the Imperial cautiously. She could hear gentle breathing... and a powerful gurgling of the stomach. "Is he... hungry? How is an omnivore like this going hungry here in this verdant forest? Hey, come bring this one as many bugs n slugs as we have!" Entry 45
"We've taken too much time for your hunting party to return.

The Hatchery Masterlist
Entry 46 (25 entries remaining before escape) A small group of the twirling hair dragons, which Oak explained were called 'Veilspun', were found and summarily despatched. Littlescale watched the reactions of the band's own examples carefully. They did not join in the fighting, but at the same time did not behave in any odd way. Which was odd in itself, really. Some of the larger members of the crew were having trouble, a few trying to find some sort of way around or over. The branches of the trees dangling thickly just overhead made this an unlikely proposition. Something glittered up ahead. Littlescale squeezed her tiny noodly body through without much trouble, and saw a Ridgeback half entangled in the plants. "My sister went looking for help, but I have not seen her in days." she said weakly. She struggled, somewhat listlessly, in the vines. "We can help, but you have to come with us, and be prepared to fight." Littlescale said. She approached the vines, rusted blade in hand. (Phase 2: EVENT) Major Heist! The trees exploded with hairy activity as soon as Littlescale touched the blade to the vines. "Ah, so she was bait. Of course." Oak cooly drew the sword...without using his hands. Cursing, Littlescale whirled to face them. "Kireg! Excidium!! Get that Ridgeback out of there!!" She knew those two would be the least use in a fight, hopefully they could get the newcomer out and head to safety before it was too late, but she was not feeling very optimistic about the group's chances. ______________________________________________________ More and more and more kept pouring out of the trees, it was never ending. Littlescale saw Gwayth strangle one in her flowers, screaming. Vines were whipping about, grasping at whoever they could find. None touched Oak, but he seemed annoyed. "Where is that little red pest when he would be of use??" His sword flashed brightly and twirled, coloured with sap and strange inky blood. "This is a veritable infestation." It seemed as she saw more and more of the Veilspun, and less and less of her own band. She tried to shut out those thoughts for now. She had only to slay and slay. Eventually there was silence. The local vegetation was shredded to bits, piles of corpses stained the ground and blood spattered the leaves. She looked to see who was still standing. She coiled on the ground, exhausted. There was Gwayth, her tearstained face contorted with rage, as she held her surviving daughter, Yuelia, in her coils. Yinseya looked even more goresmeared than before. It seemed as if the red would never come off him. Oak of course, who was staring at the devastation with his crest flattened. "Disgraceful. This is going to take months to fix. Those filthy, desecrating pests." And that was all. Wearily, Littlescale gathered herself up, grasping the sword. "That is a task for your clan. We have carried out ours. Let's continue." She looked at the Ridgeback, dead. Still half wrapped in the vines, with the ones trying to free her lying on top of her, still and motionless. She turned and left the tangled brush. @Yanisha, @Dachschund59, @RNoodles, @JallenClearbrooke, @DragonPanther888, @Wufflesnuff (That d12 was in a MOOD y'all XD)
