Entry 76 Yuelia stared at Freedom, gripping her sword. "I do not know what you intend now, but the rest of us are crossing this bridge now." She watched for any hint of reaction. Freedom stood like a stone, one claw carefully on Momoka's mask. "Gjetost has gone to get my grandfather and perhaps let others know that we have found Momoka. I do not want to wait on this bridge, but it is probably best I do not head back with all those weird creatures roaming the woods." The Skydancer fidgeted a bit, feathers twitching. "I will have to go the same way as you, even if for a little while." "You keep that Mirror under control, or you'd best prepare for both of you to die." Yuelia could feel her claws begin to cramp as she gripped the hilt tighter. Turning, she saw a number of wary faces in the distance. Dragons that seemed to have originally been planning to cross from the other direction, now watching with horror at all that had transpired. "We're coming through!" Yuelia shouted to them as a warning. "What is going on over there? What are those creatures? What's...wrong with that Mirror?" yelled an onlooker. "You'd all best go back, there's some sort of strange incursion of sickly Spiral like beasts back the way we came." Yuelia called out. The dragons seemed to have no desire to come closer, which was both understandable and probably for the best. The band proceeded to continue to travel down the bridge, Freedom guiding Momoka somehow a small distance behind. Dragons up ahead started to scatter, some taking off into the air and many trying to head back hurriedly. However... Entry 77 A silent tension befell the group, which Freedom was not entirely suprised about. He imagined Gjetost and himself would basically be considered outsiders from here on out. He was going to head back once someone came to pick up Momoka at any rate, but Gjetost was an exile. Maybe she wouldn't even make it back to let someone know? The sea smelled pleasantly clean after all the foulness they had recently experienced. He felt he could just make out the end of the long bridge/dock in the distance, with dragons flying about it. He suddenly felt a by now familiar and wrong set of emotions, and bursts of fear. He sensed these moments before he heard the screams. "I sense more of those psuedospirals behind us!" Yuelia drew her sword. "Where is all that filth coming from? Why are they leaving the forest in the first place?" Snarling, her fins bristled wildly. Dragons that had not yet turned back the way they had came or that were behind them on the bridge were being turned into sludge in the slithering headlong rush of the creatures. Not all of them seemed capable of flight, and they also knocked each other off the bridge where they greasily drowned, leaving an unsettling slick on the oceans surface. The creatures did not seem to be trying to attack, only hurling themselves down the bridge with as much speed as they could muster. "Watch your backs and keep going!" Yuelia yelled. "If they keep falling off the bridge there will be less of them to face once they catch up!" Freedom briefly considered objecting and suggesting they try to save the dragons behind them, but reconsidered once he saw the sheer numbers. The whole bridge shook and creaked, and Freedom could see the squirming mass pause and other dragons take to the skies in panic. She hurtled into the group, gasping for air and shaking. "Keep going!" Yuelia cried out. "Unless you fancy swimming or worse." (Phase 2: EVENT) Romance (lol again? What a romantic situation) Finally, they had gotten to the end of the long dock. Dragons were crowded around other than their own band. It seemed that there was indeed a ship that would ferry them to the other side, and now it was only a matter of waiting. The sludgy mass had retreated once the bridge had started to give under it's weight. Furystrike was hoping that the ship would come soon, and then they could see the last of the terrible creatures. Evening fell and as various dragons set up camp or peddled their wares while waiting, Yuelia approached him. Snowflake was with her. "If I can have a moment of your time." "Of course, always." Yuelia turned towards Snowflake. "We are considering entering a relationship." Furystrike was gobsmacked. He wasn't really sure what to think about this. He blinked, his jaw opening and closing. Yuelia turned back towards him. "This isn't a segue into a breakup. That was not my intent. Only that I would like to raise more hatchlings at some point in the future, and it is merely a matter of fact that I cannot have them with you." He turned his neck in confusion until his head was upside down. Obviously this was not the dragon with whom she had had eggs with earlier, they had only met Snowflake on the bridge just recently. So recently! "Can we continue together? May Snowflake be included?" her fins twisted slightly. For Yuelia to ask permission or even for anyone's opinion was so very rare. Honestly Furystrike wasn't sure how to feel about any of this. Especially since none of them knew this Snowflake all that well to begin with; it was incredibly confusing. "I...don't know. I could try?" he turned to look at the Pearlcatcher, baffled. Snowflake hadn't said a word during all this, and quite frankly Furystrike couldn't really blame him. Yuelia nodded. "Very well. Be sure to inform me at once if it is a problem." She stepped closer to him. "Please tell me at once." She then left, and began to check on the rest of the band. Furystrike stared at Snowflake, eyes wide. "Well, hm, I know this is all rather a bit sudden, so of course feel free to talk to me too if you need? I mean, if you're sure all this is alright?" the Pearlcatcher said, twitching his long whiskers. "I did say I would try. I think I need some time to process this. If you'll excuse me?" Furystrike got up, launched himself into the air, and headed to some of the vendors to try and distract himself. @Yanisha, @Dachschund59, @RNoodles, @JallenClearbrooke, @DragonPanther888, @Wufflesnuff (RNGesus wants to make things zesty today I guess LMAO)

Finally, they had gotten to the end of the long dock. Dragons were crowded around other than their own band.
It seemed that there was indeed a ship that would ferry them to the other side, and now it was only a matter of waiting.

Entry 78 Witnessing the considerably sizable amount of dragons waiting, Yuelia began to suspect that there probably was, in fact, some sort of ferry servicing this area. Just as she was considering asking the nearby dragons for some details, Falconidae approched her. "It's nothing to me where we go to be honest, I am a bit of a wanderer after all. But I am sort of wondering what the plan is once we get to the other side? Are we still going to group up? Disperse perhaps? Seek employment?" He glanced at the rest of the band, who were rather warily watching the other dragons. "I mean of course we probably all want to go somewhere safe, but where would that be? What will be safe on the other side of this water?" He continued. He seemed more bemused than concerned, although Yuelia knew that his questions were all important. "Once we cross, perhaps we should have a discussion about that with the group. But for now, we should focus on leaving this place." Yuelia looked over at Furystrike. "See if you can find some information about the transportation and destination here. I want to know what to expect. Maybe see if there is anyone willing to be hired as a guide." Or at least the ferry operators." "Can you tell me how often the ferry comes by? And what the fare is, if any?" Furystrike was considering the options. If they had to pay for both fare and this dragon's assistance, they might need to see what they even had available in the band. "Roughly every four days, weather permitting. It should be here in a day or so. As to the fare? It's not too much, although it is cheaper if you bring your own food. Although of course dragons could theoretically just fly on, Yuelia noticed that the dragons patiently waited as a ramp roughly as wide as the dock itself manuevered itself into position. Freedom, standing close by to Momoka, watched back the way they came with considerable trepidation. Especially after that surge of psuedospirals and knowing that Snappers weren't known for their swimming skills, he was extremely worried for Gjetost. It seemed unlikely that Yuelia would be willing to wait for her return, and he didn't fancy his chances should he stay behind to wait. What if more of the strange creatures came? Would he have to resort to changing Momoka's mask? And then what after that? Yuelia nodded in response, glad to hear of this alternative option.

Once everyone had boarded, she looked to the band. "Go. Mingle. Make some friends; see if anyone will journey with us."

Golanth returned after a while with a softly coloured Spiral. "So, she's searching for someone, and wants to travel with us? To the next... place..."

Yuelia nodded. Seemed vague but Golanth was both still a bit new and tended not to be specific in his phrasing as usual. Nonetheless, he had somehow succeeded in increasing their ranks.

At some point during their activites, Yuelia noticed someone had joined the group. This Obelisk didn't seem to have been approached by any of her band and had simply inserted herself, chatting about this and that.

Honestly, Yuelia was just happy to have a peaceful journey.

"Please, I just want to head back home, anyone who wants to head back to shore it might be best if we were in a group..." "It looks kind of like they might not think it's safe to go back." Teiru said. "Can't say as I really blame them, but honestly from what I've seen I don't really like the bridge's chances. I hope some news gets to whoever needs to fix it before it encounters too much weight." "I'll let my clan know when I get back." If they listen to me, she thought. After a few more hours, a head popped out of the water. "Hey, I'd like to come with you guys a bit if it's ok, I want to ask if you know what's been going on with this bridge. There is just... a zone of toxic waste up ahead." "Of course. I can tell you all I know. It's ...very troubling, I should warn you." Gjetost looked down at him. He was surrounded by small fish. Was he going to need to stay in the water? (Phase 2: EVENT) A Terrible Fate(Major Heist rules) The four dragons made their way, the hours passing by, until they finally reached the end of the bridge. The sun had set some while ago, and the moon gleamed on the waves. Gjetost paused. There was a large, writhing mass waiting at the end of the bridge. A hint of foul smell was carried on the breeze. She swallowed. "Listen, gentlemen, the fact is is that I'm trying to get something important back to my clan." She pulled out Momoka's mask. It was a grim and terrifying thing, made of some sort of strange skull. She could swear she could hear a whispering come from it. "I don't know if I can ask this of you all, we barely know each other. But... I have to get this mask to Sagan, of my clan. If we can get into the wilds far enough someone patrolling the area will know where to go. If anyone is given Sagan's name and this mask, they should know what to do." Gjetost turned to look at them, shaking. "Please. Anyone who can, get this mask over there. And report what happened at the bridge. If they know that we found Momoka, they should be able to come and help." "Well, if you put it that way, it seems like it'd be best to try and get the assistance if we can. These creatures are...very bad, and this bridge can't be commandeered by them like this." Teiru said, grimacing. "I'll do what I can to protect you." despite saying this, Cole was very nervous. Clearly Gjetost was the strongest one here...she didn't seem to relish her chances. Gjetost gritted her teeth. "I cannot swim. I can barely fly. One of you must take it. I will try to cut my way through so I can vouch for us when we get there." She handed it to Teiru. "Get it over there." She rushed the creatures, sword swinging. Cole was nearby, trying desperately to find a way to attack them without using his teeth. "Please get out of here if you have no magic! They can't be touched!" she grunted, trying to dodge her bulk out of the way of the splatter as she cut through the slimy creatures. Teiru flew past and over the undulating mass past the shore and into the forest, his Skydancer empathy roiling with the wrongness inside them. He could sense some great, focused yearning from them. A task. A duty. Trying to sort out what this information was telling him, he failed to notice the dripping coils in one of the dying trees until it fell on his shoulders. He screamed, and threw the mask as far into the forest as he could. Back on the shore, Gjetost pulled her nerves together. She knew she could not survive this, and Cole refused to leave her. She knew she could not protect him and it hurt almost as much as her sword hand as it started to melt from the ichor. "Please, Please, someone get the mask to Sagan or the others. Please!" Itzli snapped out of the shock of watching his new companions melt into sludge, and swam onto the shore away from the bridge while the terrible ooze of creatures were distracted. He slithered his way in ungainly fashion towards where he'd seen the Skydancer. He passed some piles of visceral goo here and there, but could not find Teiru at all anywhere. The only sounds he could hear were the diminishing screams and gurgles back on the shore. Terrified, he tried his hardest to pick up the pace. He had to get away from...whatever that was. There was nothing he could possibly do against it. The moonlight caught an object just ahead. As he came closer, he could see it was the mask. There could be only one conclusion as to what happened to Teiru then. Itzli seized the mask in his mouth and made haste. He had to find someone. They had to be told about what Gjetost had imparted about the bridge. @Yanisha, @sedge122, @RNoodles, @DragonPanther888, @Wufflesnuff (Guess that installment gets to be called "Itzli Was Alone" now lmao)

(Gjetost Was Alone: pt 3)

The three dragons made the long journey back along the bridge. They passed parts that appeared discoloured and corroded and did their best to avoid them. Gjetost in particular tried to be careful: she couldn't really fly and her bulk made the compromised structures creak alarmingly.

It would be a very poor end to her mission if she were to fall and drown.

There were some dragons still straggling about, and Gjetost decided to approach them to see if she could find more to follow her.
