Rinse and repeat until I get a dragon I'd want to keep in my "permanent dragons" tab.[/quote] [rule] Since there are some variations on this challange, here are the rules I chose to follow:[/center] [LIST] [*]Picking out the mates from AH but try and stay under 20kT [*]No Forsee Progeny or checking the colour ranges before choosing a mate [*]No basic genes [*]The hatchling that's going to be the heir is going to be chosen randomly (Thank you Random.org) [*]For funsies the heir is going to be named starting with "Po" to keep it close to the founder's name [*]The list of the main bloodline is going to be kept in the most recent heir's bio [/LIST] [rule]

I like Trail but sometimes the secondary accent can make or brake the look. We'll see how it goes. [rule] The mate I found is pretty. I looked for a RTB rare breed in hopes of getting rid of the mirror. They look cute but the head is often a weird color or interacts differently with more common genes. Maybe if I'll get something closer to green in the secondary and tertiary... And the blacks in the primary would be great, it would make it easier to match the others. I have a feeling if there's going to be a promising hatchling the RNG gods are going to mess with my plans. [/center]

Obviously when I got the 3% imp the luck had to run out. It's not that bad though! That Heather mirror with icky Chartreuse Runes was simply radiating some kind of toxic ugly combos in the future. I'd say the seafoam/shale ocean theme could be quite interesting + the colours look cute. Too bad for these Lemon Runes! It's not a dragon I'd keep though, so let's find her a mate on AH :) [rule] Alright! The hunt was successful and for measly 8000T I got this fabulous male ridgeback! I don't know why but I'm starting to get attached to him. Ahh this challenge is going to make me buy more lair space for the random mates from AH I take a liking to, isn't it? And the runes were pushed out by underbelly. The secondary and primary colours seem like a mess but the tert matches the fire eyes. And the next heir is... The tert matches the eyes and the secondary colour from trail has the blue hue of the primary gene. I would leave the tert as is but the primary gene and trail is not up to my standards just yet. Maybe I'll grab a dragon with cheaper genes that I like. [rule] [b]EDIT after 2 years:[/b] Well, life got in the way and I had to put a pause on the project for uh.... a long time. Sadly, forgetting about it all, I exalted both the chosen dragon and the two hatchlings that came out of it. Lots of changes to fr, so I didn't think too deeply about which 8k dragon to choose. I don't have any obelisks, beside the mandatory one, so when I saw one with cute colours I snatched him up! Also, fade and blend matching genes. Of course the dragon looked cohesive to me. I'm glad these were added to the gene pool; a poor man's iridescent is something a past-me definitely dreamed about. Anywho, the colour range is... [img]https://i.imgur.com/GAUuspt.png[/img] Okay, this looks promising. I can see the primary and secondary have a chance of matching up: blacks, pruples and blues. The real question is the tertiary. Sparkle with yellows can yield amazing results and green underbelly would match the blue body. For now the biggest change will be the Blend for wings which has a very high chance of being inherited and Underbelly too. We are probably also staying with Mirror for the breed. Anyway, the hatchling preview threw some black/dark babies with bright yellow sparkle at me and gave me too much hope. The stars on black sky vibe never gets old, does it. So glad the mirror breed got pushed out with this generation. Out of both of them, I must say the lighter baby looks amazing. The sparkle was a great choice to try to inherit it. I am extremly tempted to finish the challange right here but it would be so anticlimatic after the 2 year pause. Maybe seeing who will be the heir will clear things up a bit.
