I was really hoping that this project would take a little longer, since it took me so long to save up for the gem genes, but it looks like that's not going to happen. Lucky or unlucky? You decide. I only have a few pairs as of now, because all the other options have huge ranges, but they've been doing great! Glaica and Azum had 3 eggs, and one of the hatchlings (Hux) is only one off, even though the parents were not my closest pair.
