Hallows (and Eve) say: "After carefully sniffing this most pungent snake from a safe distance, we have concluded that she probably came into existence when a snake and a flesh-eating [url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rafflesia_arnoldii]corpse lily[/url] tried to devour one another and somehow... fused instead. Interesting case of predation-turned-mutualism!"[/center]

An interesting conundrum. Most creatures of the order Petromyzoniformes are almost always carnivorous. The evidence suggests that this particular individual has evolved or has a divergent evolution that includes fungus into its diet.
This and the fact that it is not restricted to water fresh or otherwise suggests that it may have some magical mixture with a plant-based creature. It looks like a flower or decaying leaves although I dismiss this as evidence as many creatures develop a cryptic camouflage to fit in better or hide from predators.
I hypothesize that there is magic involved in this creature's creation due to its ability to ground flying beings as mighty as dragons.
Labwork will prove any questions one way or another. It is a travesty to not be able to observe this creature further.
Now I must fight with the other taxonomist here for the right to designate a scientific name.

The excitement still lingers as the group journeys onward. It's been uncanny to witness so many cryptids in such a short time. The Viridian Labyrinth continues to be full of wonders, and surely Lady Luck must be smiling upon the combined efforts of the scientists. They double back and forth over the meadow, looking for any clues to the identity of the next creature.
After spotting what looks like another dead fox, a group of the scientists go over to examine it. Suddenly, there's a yelp of surprise and pain, and one of the scouts backpedals from a bush. Shortly behind it, a creature that looks almost like a rabbit bounds out, hightailing it away from the scientists. Laughter bubbles up among the group at the reactions of surprise, before one of the scientists shouts, "what was that?"
The chaos settles as the scientists make a plan to pursue and catch the creature, with safeguards should the animal attack again. Given that the fox they found had two large puncture marks...is it possible they've uncovered another cryptid?
This time the creature is easy to track; its footprints lead to a den. The scientists spread around the opening, and are about to peer inside when the animal pokes its nose out. Its very small, cute, wiggly nose. It seems the creature is nothing but a large jackalope—certainly not whatever has been feeding off of game in the meadow.
After tagging it so they can track its activities, the scientists return to their search.

Once upon a time... no, I kid. But actually, once upon a time, I had a clan-mate named Yun. He was a Ghostbuster. Well, he still is, but he lives in another clan now. Anyway. I was a newly-trained mage back then, and I'd only ever seen the dusty workshop and the soggy mire before, so when Yun asked me to join him in the ruins, I jumped at the chance! He told me the enemies there were weaker than the ones I was used to, plus he was well equipped to handle them. This should be a walk in the park!

[color=#7e2b7e]I was so excited for a change of scenery and – let's face it – the chance to see some scary ghosts! We took a small trainee with us and off we went. All was fine and dandy. We fought some pretty cute ghosts, I thought. Some pretty creepy ones too, but I wasn't fazed. Yun said everything was under control.
We went deeper into the ruins, trying to find a boss. And find it we did. Or shall I say, it found us. We had just fought a four-pack of scratchers and one of them had landed a crit on Yun before my healing had time to do its job. He fainted clean away. I finished the mob off with contuse, and then I was all out of breath and all alone with my tiny trainee.
Well, I thought we'd just sit there until Yun came around and I could heal him back up again, but the ruins had other plans. There was a sigh, almost like wind but angry. And another. A louder one. Eerie rattling sounds were coming nearer and nearer and suddenly it appeared around a corner: the most enormous ghost I had ever seen. It was bigger than the golems in the workshop, translucent and menacing, floating up to us from a vast, curving stairwell.

[color=#7e2b7e]My trainee kept trying to wake Yun to get him to drink some potions, and I was trying to keep an eye on the beast while meditating as intensely as I could, but I knew I didn't stand a chance. Not knowing if it had seen us in the dusk, we tried to keep still and quiet. Maybe it would just glide past?
But no. The beast had definitely seen us. It was closing in on us faster and faster when I threw caution to the teeth of the gale and cast the strongest disorient I ever did cast. Luck was on our side that time. The monster became convinced that the pillar next to us was an enemy and proceeded to try to scatch at it... but kept hitting itself instead. My trainee was laughing. Yun was waking up. I threw him a potion, having used up all my breath for that epic disorient, and we fled faster than I have ever fled before.
Yun wanted to stay and fight, of course, but I could tell that the effects were wearing off and the spirit would come to its senses in a moment. It's a good thing he listened to me.
We didn't catch a boss that day, but I got the fright of my life! Needless to say, I've been reluctant to go back to the ruins since..."
